I’ve debated about coming back but due to portion size, taste and price inconsistents. I’m not shocked this place closed. Their prices where differnt from dine in and take outs were different price when we order same thing over and over again. But do visit the Irvine location much better. But if I had to guess they probably closed up shop due to high rent. Thank god it was a fire that closed down k sandwiche or emerald… Cause that’s seems to be a trend with failing business.

yu’s is definitely catered for the chinese diners, and it’s probably the closest we will ever get food wise without flying across the pacific. ordered their beef pan fried noodle, basil chicken and wanted their stinky tofu but they were out. the noodles had good flavor and were crispy even with the heavy sauce. the 3 cup or basil chicken reminded us a bit of dinesty 3 spice chicken in vancouver. like dinesty they used actual chicken on the bone(+), but unlike dinesty they need some help on the prep. too many pieces had tiny bones cause they chop the chicken with a cleaver knife and they don’t rinse and remove the pieces after chopping. like I said closest we will ever get and even with the prep we would still comeback.

I got a strange vibe from the workers here. I mean, they weren’t mean or anything, just too shy. I mean come on, you’re suppose to make the customers feel at home, not feel awkward If I can speak Mandarin Chinese(wish I could) then we’d probably be best friends; it could probably be that their English is not that good so they’re embarrassed or something I only ordered the stinky tofu since I’ve been aware of this Chinese specialty for a long time. I’m a fan of tofu and I’ve always wanted to know how this specialty smells. Well, it smells pretty bad. Smells literally like horse shit. I’m not gonna lie, I had a hard time eating it because it was too smelly. What’s even worse is the burping. You know, when you burp, you can taste the flavor of the food you just ate? Well, every time I burped, I kept tasting horse shit It was disgusting but I’d still eat it again. I want to trick my friends; cover the stinky tofu in chocolate and tell them I’m eating feces or something

Hole in the wall restaurant with pretty good Taiwanese food. Service is slow; we had to ask for more tea… but hey, food is pretty cheap and pretty tasty. There’s not much else to complain. Items we ordered included rice porridge, salted egg, three cup chicken(aka basil chicken), woodear in sesame oil, beef tongue, string beans, tofu skins, as well as egg and tomato. A group of 5 went to Yu’s Garden on a Sunday morning. It was a little confusing when we walked in because the sign says Monday thru Friday for ordering items off the food table by the counter. Must Get Items — rice porridge, beef tongue. ENJOY!
