Place is great, to the person complaining about parking — you’re an idiot. Why would you drive to a business located on market street? And if you did, just park on turk somewhere or in the garage on 5th Street or thereabouts. The Powell stop is right there and tons of buses and the f car. Jeeez, sf is really going to s*hit. F your groupon. Anyways, awesone food and clearly marked vegan options. I dug it. A tad bit $ for the neighborhood or else if give it a 5 star. Check em out!

Not happy at all with this place. We bought a groupon and it was just not workin with us that day. Minus a hell of a lot of stars because it’s located on Market St in downtown and it took us over 30 minutes to fund parking for this hole in the wall. We missed the place the first time because the logo is a 3, a rocketship, and a 4. The place is small, kind of like an elevator. There’s a lot of newspaper clippings. Equipment in the back was very clean! It can get pretty slow. Groupon wasn’t working for them that day and when we went it, we asked if they could at least honor it because I know plenty of stores that just take down the groupon number and tell me to mark it as redeemed. Even my work place does that! It’s all about customer service. The cashier even called the owner but he said no, they can’t make us anything without the groupon. That was the most disappointing part, because a sack of potatoes can sell for 99 cents. I know I shouldn’t really be expecting anything, but as a customer, I feel like I have the right to, right? It was my first time there, I parked 4 blocks away in the TL, and i had four $ 5 groupons that I couldn’t use so I sure as heck was not about to pay cash. I really wish they had honored that groupon and at least let us leave with a small stack of fries. It can’t mess up their COGs thaaaat badly. I went through a lot of trouble to try these fries, but I should’ve just went to Mcd’s if I had known.

Not only are these the tastiest fries I can remember having, they are only baked, no oil. No fuss. Just crunchy delicious nuggets of taters. All the sauces, all the extras are just gravy. Simply put: if you want taters come here. It is the best simple snack I can think of. People complain about the price but there isn’t anything else in this world that is $ 5 and satisfies my afternoon snack need better. It isn’t easy running a small biz in SF so I’m happy for the price. Keep up the good work Tater Masters.

I’ve walked by this hole-in-the-wall for months and I finally got the chance to try it out today during our break. They’ve got a great selection of «build-your-own» goodies when it comes to their baked, organic potatoes. I ordered the Sweet Potato Fries with the Big Bang(Hella spicy) and Chipotle Mayo sauce with Bacon Bits. Super Delicious, everyone else in our group got wedge cut fries, which were equally as delicious. It’s a small shop, but it has so much character and there is a ton of quality in the food. I highly recommend this place!

We happened upon this place while taking a stroll from the Friday Night Market affair at UN Plaza. Because I’m a huge sweet potato fry lover, I had to give ‘em a try. I watched him(don’t know his name or I’d write it) warm the criss-cross wedges and turn them over in the oven. They came out kinda crispy, flavorful, and not oily. I would like them a little hotter, though. The sauce we requested(because it was sugar-free, but I am forgetting the name) was pretty good, too. Because we shared the medium order, it didn’t seem too expensive. But hey, times(and food) are changing and when you step outside of the potato box, you must pay more. I’d visit again and ask to have them a bit hotter. And I don’t mind at all that there is no place to sit or that they’re located smack dab in the middle of downtown. Like Stevie Wonder, I live for the city.

Time: 12:52pm/71°F partly sunny Purpose: My friend Carol C told me about this place with baked organic fries. Base on the word«baked» I was sold on that. She told me it has no reviews yet. I was sure this place must be on the map already. So I did a search and sure enough there it was but under a different name. I pass by before remembering that bright yellow and blue color just never went in yet. I fear for my life in this part of town. Ambiance: Really small place safe to call it hole in wall, that may hold two average size adults while ordering. Counter so small only tip jar, menus and iPad. There’s no seating in or out strictly to go or stand and eat using their makeshift rolling cart table with 3.5’in cut out hole that accommodate 8 person space holder. You ask why a cut out hole? Well it’s not for peep shows here although there are some adult shops and theater nearby. It’s to hold your order of fries as it comes in form of paper cone shape. Saw a guy using two spaces holding a cone on the left and right, guy in the center dipping away both hands. I’m thinking this big boy can eat, I better order mines. Staff: Two older guys about mid 40s real cool hip dudes. I walk in got greeted right away with 5 seconds. I told them it’s my first time here let me take a look first. Clerk said, ok no worries let me know when you’re ready. After I’ve place the order he ask me what dipping I wanted, it’s extra $ 1. I said I wanted to try it plain first then will decide on next visit. It’s just like not sure about a new coffee shop and you try it black nothing added, same here. Cleanliness: Grade A, normally a place of this kind with limited space you’ll smell frying oil spewing in the air. Since it’s baked there no smell or oil drips to be seen. Best of all open door at all times no stuffiness of any kind. Heck you won’t know it serves food if you walk by not paying attention, no oily smell. Eats/Drinks: Order of baked fries medium, aka hungry size $ 5 plus taxes. I waited at the counter looking around in search of more details about this place. Buzzer went off the guy grab a paper cone and scoops the fries in cone. My eyes opens wide as these are not your typical shoestring, crinkle cut or tater tots. No sir, these were steak fries, yes indeed! Baked with no trans fat and oil I was amaze about how good it was being non fried versions tasted. My first bite I was in heaven omg these are so good. Second piece scalded my roof of mouth as I juggle it around with tongue. The guy said, why don’t you try some of the seasoning on the mini lazy susan. I sprinkle thai ginger and applewood pepper & salt. Between these two flavors I was speechless just slowly savoring each piece. By the time I walk back to the car bag was still heavy. You’ll definitely get your money worth and some. Products/Services: Organic russet wedge cut steak fries, waffle cit sweet potatoes, sauces(add $ 1 more), soups, combos, old time sodas & juices. Their made in house natural flavored sea salts, cane sugar, and peppers. GF options for soups and chili’s, organic, vegetarian/vegan, desserts, artisan sauces, eco-wise packaging, 99% FF, nut free, meat free, GMO free, wheat free, cassein free, tree but free, gelatin free, MSG free. 3 sizes to choose from snack $ 4 hungry $ 5, and share $ 6. Last one shouldn’t be name«share» like you’re gonna share it anyways. Punch Lines: Baked not fried, many customizable options, fast/efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, good recommendation, no seating, standing room only, seedy area of Market st, $ 1for dippings, free seasoning, transportation accessible, old time sodas, daily combo specials. Tradeoffs: You get to enjoy fries that are baked, making it whole lot healthier. Eat a little more without that guilty conscience of real fried French fries. Final Thoughts: I’m glad Carol C inform me on this joint. I’ve thinking about baked fries for quite a while now. Didn’t think it was possible to have such a business doing baked foods, might not be too popular. However this business took the chance and as a result they’ll have a customer like me for as long as it’s in business. Lastly they open another location in Nob Hill/Russian Hill area and I’m 4 blocks away. Uh oh!

This place was really fantastic. It’s a little hole-in-the-wall kinda place, really small… It barely held out group of five people. But it is much grander than its space! You can order fries here — regular or sweet potato fries. Then you can order different sauces to go with them — all different types! In front of the counter there are also flavored salts and the like to sprinkle on. Oh, and they sell those fancy cane sugar sodas, too. The owner(maybe?) was really friendly and the fries were ready in no time. And they were delicious! Perfect snack after a long, touristy day of walking around the city.

A sidewalk hole-in-the-wall kitchen with an oven that serves sweet potato fries and wedge cut fries. And nothing else. It sounded like a dream of mine come true. The idea couldn’t possibly go wrong — who doesn’t like fries? The execution, though, needs a little more help before I would consider this place to be an absolute success. It’s located between Powell and Civic Center BART stations on Market(a couple of blocks past the Valley Fair mall towards the Tenderloin). Not the most savory of areas, but it’s safe enough in broad daylight. You walk in, order the size(small, medium or large essentially) and type(wedge or sweet potato) of fries you want, tack on any dipping sauce you want(for an additional $ 1 per sauce) and then you wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. When we did finally get our to-go cups(Boyfriend and I both ordered the small«snack» size), we discovered a dilemma. How were we supposed to use our dipping sauces if one hand is used to hold the fry cone while the other has to be used to eat? Like I said — good idea, not the best execution. I guess we could’ve poured the sauce over the fries, but eh… that would’ve been messy to walk with. We ended up walking over to Valley Fair mall and snagging a table in their food court before we could try the sauces. I had ordered the sweet potato fries and Boyfriend had gotten the wedges. Let me say now that I LOVE sweet potato fries, but I honestly think that mine might have been burnt — they tasted really dry. I preferred the wedge cut fries to the sweet potato ones. The garlic black pepper mayo that Boyfriend got to dip his fries in was good, but not worth the $ 1. Boyfriend was pretty upset because he said it was honestly just garlic cloves chopped up and mixed into the mayo with black pepper. He wasn’t a huge fan. I’d gotten the pesto ketchup and it honestly reminded me marinara pizza sauce. Needless to say, we were both a little sad after we were done with our cones — it had cost almost $ 10 for both of us! I’m not against the idea of a shop selling only fries(I’m still totally on board with this concept), but I think what this place needs are some standing tables for people to enjoy their dipping sauces immediately and maybe some better house sauces? Maybe the other ones are better(there are still a few that I’m curious about) and I would be willing to come and try them again. But I don’t think I’d be willing to come out of my way for them.

Medium fries, 1 sauce, tax + tip = $ 8 For fries? Nothing special about these fries. Worth about $ 3 after tax in my opinion. Sauce was meh. I dont see the point of not frying; would have probably been worth it if fried in lard or had some meat toppings. the guy working there was nice though, hence the tip. but not going back and expect this place to close. p. s. why does Unilocal not allow the greater than symbol in reviews?

I’m a meat and potatoes kind of of girl. I love them. My buddy suggested getting fries. Fries? What? «Yeah, a new place opened up down the street. They do fries.» Just fries? «Yeah. Fries.» Yeah, I’m down for this. Short walk down the street, found the place about half way between 6th and 7th on Market. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall. You may pass it — it has a super bright sign, so watch out for bright blue. The foyer(foyer?) is small, big enough for 3 – 4 people to comfortably stand. Looked over the menu while chatting with the guy behind the counter, who was super nice. Two small fries($ 4 each) for my buddy and my kiddo, medium for me($ 5). The little missus got ketchup, my friend got curry ketchup, and I got spicy honey mustard($ 1 each). We each got a drink(bottled teas, juice, root beer, ginger ale, and orange cream soda.) While milling about, I noticed holes in the counter. I had no idea what it was for, until the guy put a paper cup filled with fries in it. Fantastic idea! They don’t have a flat bottom, so they built a holder into the counter. For the three of us, the total was $ 24. We were in and out in about 5 minutes. The fries(we all got regular wedge fries) were fantastic. Moist, warm, soft inside, and just the right amount of slight«crunch» out side. The sauce was amazing. Between the two, totally recommend the spicy honey mustard. This place will be dangerous for me. Totally going back, and if you need a snack, stop on in! Why the deduction? I totally understand the $ 1 extra for sauce(house made and yummy), but it’s kind of a bummer. Not bad, though! Go. Final note, something my friend pointed out — the fries were in paper holders. White, paper holders. There were 0 grease stains. Woohoo!

Fred read about this place somewhere and knowing that I love fries, he brought me here during one of our excursions to the city. It’s just a tiny little shop(no seating) — so be prepared to eat as you walk or find a bench over by the UN Plaza a few blocks away. The small size was pretty big — and we got regular fries and sweet potato ones as well. The fun part is really in the variety of dipping sauces … we tried several though our favorites were the curry ketchup and chipotle mayo. Fresh hot fries served up fast and friendly.

Went there with the wifey and got a couple of medium($ 5 each) wedge cut fries(they also have sweet potato, but thats not my thing). The fries were baked fresh right in front of us and they were amazing! I can say for sure that these fries tasted better then the fried ones(didn’t get soggy). They also have a wide selection of sauces to chose from($ 1 each). We got the big bang(very spicy and really good, but don’t dare to try if you can’t handle the spicy), garlic black pepper mayo(this one was just all right, wish it was a bit more garlicy) and BBQ sauce which was good too. They also have a few good bevs. to select from. Get the ginger ale(or root beer) and a medium and thats good as a full meal. The guy behind the counter was super friendly, he let us sample a whole lotta sauces before we made the selection and also described the entire baking process. He also let us sample the Tomato Chili soup(Vegan, I believe) and it was really good. I like how this place has snacks that aren’t bland(I LOVE spicy). The only thing I didn’t like about this place is that its pretty small and there’s no counter space to comfortably munch on your awesome fries. The neighborhood isn’t very appealing for a snack walk. However, the guy let us use the main counter to eat our fries dunking them in the sauce which is awesome! Thank you good sir. I can’t wait to get back there and try other sauces + the soup.

Whoa there, watch out ordinary potato wedges! This little shop is located on market st. Kinda in a random spot, but it’s working for them! Their fries and potato wedges are organic, baked to perfection using sea salt, and their sauces are all fat free! A health freaks dream ^__^ AND, their bacon bits are not reallyyyyy bacon. But the crunch is better than bacon and you can’t even taste the difference! The owner is super nice and friendly and let us sample the soups and gave us suggestions on what was popular. We ordered two snack size potato wedges with 1 spicy chipotle and 1 pesto ketchup sauce and he threw in a side of «bacon bits» for us. The chipotle had a good tangy taste to it and was pretty creamy. Even more delicious when it was dipped into the«bacon bits». Which Almost tricked me into thinking it was real bacon, and it basically tastes the same! Amazing. The pesto ketchup tasted sort of like regular ketchup. Nothing really different about it, but maybe that’s just me. I really liked how the fries were super crunchy and not soggy how a lot of potato wedges are when fried. Plus, you don’t feel gross after eating it because there’s no greasy oil. The wedges come in a paper cone so its also easy to eat on the go. Would definitely recommend trying this place out if you’re looking for a healthy alternative to regular deep fries French fries. And the owner is super chill and talkative. Five stars for you, 3 Potato 4!

At first I couldn’t believe when my wife said there was someone selling French Fries on Market St. Face it, the guys in a touch location. After going there I would say calling these French Fries doesn’t do this place justice and crappy location or not, it’s worth the trip. First off, they’re not fries at all. They’re baked. They’re crispy on the outside and warm inside. They have the perfect texture. Then we get to the sauces. There are so many to try and the ones I’ve had have been really flavorful. So far the one I’ve liked the best has been the Pesto Ketchup, but there are so many others to try I’ll have to go back. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in the mood for some good fries.

I got the wedge cut, snack size. It’s actually pretty big in my opinion for one person. With it, I got 2 sauces: garlic pepper mayo — just enough garlic, just enough pepper, perfect. But very thick. Sweet thai chili — Sweet with a bit of a kick. It’s more on the liquid-y side, but that’s sorta what I wanted because the garlic pepper mayo was so thick. The combo worked out perfectly. First bite garlic pepper mayo(my entrée), last bite with the sweet thai chili(my dessert). Also, they gave me a lot of sauce. I’m using the leftover mayo on a fried egg sandwich.

Freedom fries. Stupid: Outstanding: Baked, gluten-free and organic potatoes sprinkled with sea salt, dipped in homemade sauces like curry ketchup and served in biodegradable packaging. It’s freedom from clogged arteries plus they cost less than the Iraq war. Call it potato patriotism.

Yes, yes, yes. Excuse me, just reminiscing about my last mouthgasm which took place right here on Market Street in San Francisco. I’m a fried potato freak, but unfortunately I can’t eat fried potatoes, or potatoes too often at all anymore since I’m on a mega weight loss, muscle building plan. When I do spend my calories on a potato, it better be good. Thankfully, I took a chance and won here at 3 Potato 4. It of course helped that all their signage promoted they are the healthy way to eat fries. The potatoes are thick wedges. Never having been to a SF before, no less a 3P4, I was given a couple samples of the sauce options before making my decision. I have never seen so many sauce options for potatoes but I loved the idea of every single one listed. I was meeting up with a good looking guy later, so I sadly passed on the garlic options and settled on a Chili sauce. My fries were put in the oven upon ordering(I think they were pre cooked and just reheated via oven) and served to me nice and hot. It was the perfect potato wedge experience. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. They tasted fresh and were not dry or oily. I would have probably liked a bit of salt added, but with the dipping sauce it was unnecessary. I love the fact they weren’t overly salted actually, so you can control that yourself. The service was extremely friendly. The guy that took my order was also the owner of that location and he told me his sister owned the overall company. Very cool, very chill, very happy, very San Fran. I cannot wait to visit again, and I definitely plan on making that soon.

Crispy, hot, thick potato wedges hit the spot when you’re craving fries and don’t want the grease. So many sauces to choose from it was hard to pick one so I opted of the honey mustard, which you can’t go wrong with. They even give you a countdown card that is good for two orders after you’ve reach ten. Totally coming back to try the sweet potato and the soup options.

Great spot to drop in for a snack. I wouldn’t recommend that you intend on having this as a meal but hey, if you really want to you can. The largest size is $ 6 and it is recommended for sharing. Definitely true! The shop doesn’t have the entire menu at all times, it varies.(no redskin potatoes the day I dropped in) My gf and I went with sweet potato fries the day we dropped in. They’re sweet potato waffle fries, yes!!! i developed an extreme food allergy to tomato(ugh, depressing I know but so is spending your morning in an ER) so I had to pass up on all their ketchup based sauces. The tasty fries were nice to munch on while browsing the Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays. Going to have to return to try the other fries in combination with other sauces. Plus, I don’t feel as guilty as I normally would eating fries because these are baked and not fried.
