The food tastes healthy. I probably should have just picked one tofu dish — I ended up with a lot of tofu. The fried rice was not oily. They have a good variety of cooked vegetables to choose from. This is definitely one of the better choices for food in the mall.

I want to love this place more, but it’s $ 11 for one entrée. I say 1 because I had to pick out soo much peppers and onions from my «2 entrée». I enjoy eating them but it’s such a overwhelming amount of it. In the picture you will see what I mean. I will have to stop coming here unfortunately it’s a rip off. :/

It’s so nice to see vegetarian/vegan friendly options in a mall food court. Even nicer that it’s Loving Hut, a chain that I really like. I dragged my Dad here who really was hesitant. He ordered spicy eggplant, curry and fried rice lunch combination. We shared summer rolls and I had the veggie beef bun. Soooo good! The prices are super reasonable. Food is fresh and delicious. So glad they’re here now!

Love the food especially since they cater to vegetarians and vegans. My favorite dishes are the sweet potato curry and the sweet and sour faux chicken with brown fried rice. Also, delicious Vegan Thai Ice Teas! Good vegan cheese cake and they make a super thick and tasty Avocado Smoothie. The Golden Era is related to this chain… heard the opened back up so have to check them out next.

I had been to this Loving Hut several times before I moved to SF, and even today I am STILL impressed with their offerings. The food is great, well flavored, and priced right. While my tastes have changed over the years and I’ve strayed away from fake meat products, I was surprised at how well balanced the vermicelli dish was with the noodles, seitan, peanuts, sauce, spring rolls, etc. Essentially, throughout the day I described this dish as a spring roll in a bowl(with fried rolls on top). It was so good and light… I didn’t feel like I was going to fall asleep at my desk at work afterwards, huge plus! Highly recommended as an excellent, decently priced lunch option. Below is my original Happy Cow review posted on 09/15/2010(HC is an excellent resource when looking for vegan places around the world): Posted on 09⁄15 /2010 This location is situated in the food court of the popular Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre. Normally I wouldn’t be jumping up an down about food court restaurants, but I’m surely jumping up and down about this one. First thing, this is a great place to go to if you’re traveling with someone that is not veg*n, as there are plenty of great choices for them within the food court and there are actually good options. This food court is also connected to the BART stop at Powell, so if you’re coming in on the subway, walk on in. As always, the employees at Loving Hut were very nice. One thing I noticed is that they didn’t have the TV’s broadcasting things from their religion/beliefs — although I don’t have a problem with their TV station, I often have a hard time getting some friends to go to their restaurants because of it. The location is very clean, cute, and inviting as well and there were many people ordering food from here(a very good sign). I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and absolutely fell in love — I’m not sure if I loved it so much because I hadn’t eaten for over 14 hours, but wow! The sandwich itself was very flavorful, they even had a garlic flavoring on the bread, the flavor of the sauce was very well done, and the seitan was tasty and had a great texture. The sandwich also came with a side of cole slaw(very good) and two slices of orange. Overall, this place is great and I will surely be eating here at least one more time before I leave — this is also the train stop that goes back to the airport.

Vegan food and delicious? I’m in! I’m most definitely not a vegetarian nor a vegan but this place has been on my mind before as I always been wanting to try it so today was the day. They have food already prepared, similar to Panda Express in a way. I got the two item choice with brown rice and the eggplant w/tofu and the sweet and savory. Total was $ 10 which is a good price for vegan food. The food was amazing which made me not miss the meaty taste at all. The sweet and savory has chicken like tofu cubes while the eggplant and bigger softer tofu. I really liked the sweet and sour dish better than the eggplant since it was greaser. The only downside was that food was a little too greasy. Overall, this place is worth it for the price and their amazing flavors.

Fake vegan! They put so much sauce that upset my stomach; turned my Friday night treat into Friday evening dead!

I really like this place. I’m not a huge meat eater and I like my veggies so this place works for me. Today I tried their crispy tenders and sweet potato fries. Let me tell you, I don’t eat fried foods often. These were not overly greasy at all. The tenders are made of soy protein. I liked these. Savory and then sweet from the fries. I’ve had their Heavenly Salad before. The dressing is good and is evenly distributed. It’s kind of a big portion for me but I can finish most of it. I had their strawberry shake before. It was just alright from what I remember. Looking forward to trying their their avocado shake next time. Haven’t had their hot plate combos yet but they do look good.

I was running errands in the area and decided to grab some food for takeout. Since I’ve given up red meat for a bit, I had a hard time picking something for dinner. Then I thought, why not try something vegan? It was Friday, February 12th around 6:30pm. After looking through a bunch of pix on Unilocal,I decided to get the Garden vermicelli($ 9.95): noodle, lettuce, bean sprout, cucumber, herbs, fried rolls & grilled soy protein. I wanted to try their golden rolls anyways, so I figured this would be perfect. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I don’t really recall ever eating faux meat in the past. I was pleasantly surprised. The ingredients were fresh. The grilled soy actually fulfilled my red meat craving. It’s not quite as savory and beefy, but it does the trick. Their sauce(I believe it’s supposed to resemble nuac cham?) could have used a little more flavor. I like mine a little fishier. Added some sambal to give it a little kick. They also have some(stir fried?) dishes displayed just like some fast takeout Asian restaurants.(Panda Express comes to mind.) That day, they were offering: *Vegetable chowmein *Fried rice *Spicy green beans *Basil mushrooms *Sweet potato curry *Organic tofu with eggplant *Red curry with vegetables *Sweet & sour savor *Steamed kale *Organic lemongrass tofu You can get a one or two item combo. I was tempted to get this as everyone in front of me was ordering combos. Plus, the food smelled really good. Maybe I’ll use it as an excuse to come back. Thanks Loving Hut for opening me up to vegan food. It’s actually mighty tasty!

This was my first time trying out the«fast» shopping center food court version of the sit-down restaurant chain I am otherwise familiar with. Was in need of a quick snack to take with me and was curious how this location’s fare was, and I was definitely not disappointed :) I got the sweet potato fries with«chicken» tenders, plus some rice and the sauteed eggplant dish and it was all quite tasty. Mr. Piano(who isn’t vegetarian) stole some fries and crispy tenders and was pretty enamored of them as well! Next time I want to try some of their drinks and such(like the Thai iced tea), and will definitely need to avail myself of some of their desserts! The staff is really friendly, and they were pretty quick with my to go order when I was there. Definitely a good addition to the food court, and I will be back again next time I’m in the area and hungry :)

When I need extra Vegetables I come to Loving hut. At first I was kind of hesitant that I was only getting veggies. After trying it I realized it filled me up for lunch and it wasn’t so bad. I always get the steamed table combo which is 2 items plus fried rice or noodles. If you don’t want the rice or noodles, let them know and you can any of the 3 items on the table. My favorites are the Eggplant, Sweet and Sour tofu, potato curry, or the tofu and vegetables. Try it out if you want a somewhat healthy alternative!

good vegan Vietnamese food. I had the basil mushroom and sweet potato curry. Fast service although the staff is very busy trying to get all the food and orders out. Just be aware if you have special needs outside of the normal lunch rush program — its hard to get their attention unless you are in their work flow.

Looking for a quick lunch, my friend and I dropped into the shopping center’s food court. I held down a table while she went scouting for noms. When she came back, she opened up a vermicelli bowl that looked fairly standard, but it was vegan. Interested, I followed suit and picked up one of my own. I’m not vegan, but that’s how I roll when I’m with my girl, and I’m usually not disappointed with the food. I ate the entire meal and left satisfied. No meat necessary.

Eh, not my favorite lunch spot in Soma, but doable when there are very few customers. But if you order phở during lunch hour… You can experience surly service at the counter as you watch 4 people get their orders ahead of you. By «you,» I mean«I.» Got my money back before that number grew to 5,6,7???

Very tasty food for food court. Their curries are really good and most veggie options are also delicious. I liked the tofu, as well. My only problem with this place(and other places in this food court) is that they serve lukewarm food! I don’t know why. I went there around noon and the food was cold. I told the guy working there but he didn’t care. Then I went back around 8pm(before closing) and food was also cold. I told him that it’s almost cold and he said: «It’s still warm». Noo, that was not warm enough. I had to eat very fast so I don’t have to eat too cold at the end(I hate cold food). So 3 stars because they don’t care!

Damn, didn’t know vegan tasted so good, but hurt my wallet so bad… I ordered the philly sandwich & the tofu spring rolls, my total was almost 18 $. I never had a tofu«philly sandwich» that tasted almost just as good as if it were actual beef. The tofu was well marinated and had a «beefy» texture that didn’t make me miss the beef taste as I thought I would. The sandwich had arugula that offered a nice balance with the sweet tofu. I liked how the sandwich gives you a side of fish sauce to dip into, which gives it a nice Vietnamese touch. Spring rolls were boring. Not much memorable sour it. I’d skip it if you are looking for a pleasing appetizer.

First time going to vegetarian place(which located at the food court in the westfield mall) that actually sell few vietnamese food. I always wanted to try it whenever i passed by this place. When looking at the kind of food they have, it seems like they have small selection of what food you can get. You either look at the food menu or look at the already cook food. I got the phở noodle soup since i was craving for soup. It costs about $ 9.25 or so. Quite expensive since they dont give much vegetarian meat and noodle for a medium size bowl. Made me felt half full… broth had good flavor but heatness was more like warm.

Who would have guessed there would be Vegan options at a Food Court? I was surprise myself. Anytime we are out shopping or with a group of friends or family, this is usually the area we meet up. Since it is accessible to BART. My go to order is the Vermicelli bowl. Heck as much as I order it, I don’t remember the name. LOL. It has it all… noodles, «beef», veggies, broth and they top it off with two eggrolls. Great for the winter and summer. Can’t go wrong with this dish, a must order. My other favorite item here is the fresh spring roll with peanut dipping sauce. Perfectly wrap with tofu and veggies. It’s so good, I sometimes just order this for a snack while we are shopping. Don’t leave this place without getting dessert. The Oreo cake is AMAZING! No matter where we eat in SF, I’ll always swing by here to get dessert. I guess it’s because there is not a lot of vegan dessert options in this area. So what are you waiting for, after that long day of shopping or before you get your $$ spending spree, hit up this place and enjoy a tasty meal.

Mall food? Meh. Wait… you haz a Loving Hut? *heart* Waltzed all the way downstairs to the food court. And there it stood. Refraining from drooling and ordering one of everything(as I had a big dinner planned a few hours after) I settled for ordering a smoothie and steamed bao to snack! The ladies behind the counter were friendly. I wanted a Strawberry smoothie however was informed they were all out for the day. So I got the Kale Drink instead. It was nice they heated up the bao before it was served. It was also nice to see them use a good bunch of fresh kale(no skimping, the blender was completely stuffed!) and fresh dates(my love…) into their vitamix. The steam bao was reminiscent of the«cha siu bao» aka pork buns. It captures the sweet and savory flavors really well. All the taste without the cruelty. I definitely enjoyed the small treat! If only Arden Arcade Mall would open a Loving Hut… sigh.
