Great ambiance, definitely a great place to talk over a cup of coffee. Staff was a little unhelpful though when asked about recommendations & details on menu items.

I came here with my aunt, uncle and two young cousins. The food was really good and hearty. The turkey sandwich I had was awesome. I loved the lavender lemonade. It was a typical San Fran type place which I loved as an out of towner. It wasn’t super kid friendly, but we made it work and everyone there was kind. I wasn’t a fan that they charged for water. That is my only complaint. I definitely go back.

Service was terrible. Our food took over 30 minutes to arrive, so we went up to the counter to double check on the order. They said they were«busy» so it would take a while. Another 10 minutes go by and half of our order arrives. 5 min later, they say they forgot the other part of our order. They asked if we wanted a reimbursement or if we still wanted the food. We asked for the food. Another 10 minutes and no food. We walked out.

One of my favorite things to do with my m8s is to sit here and talk about life, drinking $ 3 beers until we’re drunk enough that the Popeyes across the street sounds like the best possible thing to eat.

Stopped in to try their espresso. Simply put, they don’t know how to make it. No flavor, over extracted, and will scorch your mouth. I’m assuming they don’t properly maintain their machine either because the milk had a slight sourness to it. Always a sign of a dirty steam wand. There are 20 better places to go for coffee in this area. Don’t waste you time and money.

I’ve been here a couple of times since it’s so close by from where I work, but the last two times I’ve been here, I’ve noticed the same problem. About four months ago, I noticed a grown man feeding his dog which was sitting on one of the chairs inside the restaurant and none of the employees said a word! And today, I saw the same man with his dog again in the exact same spot inside the restaurant! Really?! I don’t even think it’s a service dog! Oh, and the female employee with the short orange/red hair and missing tooth proceeded to pet the dog and then go behind the counter and continue to handle the food without ever washing her hands! Seriously?! Although I have had good custom service in past and the food has been good, l won’t be coming back because of this incident.

My favourite breakfast place in the neighbourhood. The food is pretty good. The staff is always friendly — I’ve forgotten my keys and wallet here on separate occasions on one of the tables outside. Found both right away.

The food is okay but well priced, but let’s face it… You come here for cheap good beer, hanging out, and free Wi-Fi with views of the life on Divis as you work. Too bad it’s just so crowded when the sun is out.

Unilocal says, «You’re a regular!» How does Unilocal know if I am regular :-D or not? I’m unimpressed by the notion because I’ve been coming here since 2005. Ziryab? Gone. Blue Bird Café? Gone. Café Abir? Gone. Yoshi’s? Really? Eddie’s is still going strong. Nopa too! I’ll have to drive down the next block to check on that Ethiopian landmark. Location and Environment: ***** Street parking; bus stops; corner restaurant; I like it all. If you are close enough to walk over then you’ve really got it made. This is a very mixed community with tourists visiting the multimillionaire Victorian homes at Alamo Square Park and the Haight nearby so you’ll fit right in. If you must park a vehicle on the streets in this City, shoot a pic of the parking signs so when you alter your plans, you’ll have the data you need. Avoid DPT at all costs; the metermaids believe their purpose is to raise money for the City, not traffic control. It only takes them a minute to inflict a $ 45 fine, or a fine that is hundreds of dollars if they can FIND any thing close to such a violation.

If you order a mimosa, they actually get the ratio right, which is only about 5−10% orange juice and lots of champagne! Cheap beer and happy hour starts at 3 everyday. Food is pretty good and there is so much variety, I love this spot for breakfast. Huevos rancheros are a great choice, love the potatoes on the side. My friend got a burger that looked really good too and see said it was delicious! Fries are big and fatty and everyone loved them. HUGE plus is that they have outside seating!

I come to this place pretty often as it is downstairs from my friends apartment. They have a good happy hour. I like coming on Friday evenings for a beer or two. As for the food: the breakfast burrito is pretty yummy. I like most of their breakfast scramble options. The food is good, but nothing to absolutely rave about. And slightly overpriced. Unfortunately, one of the employees here seems to completely disregard customer experience. My friend ordered whole wheat toast and when they brought her white toast, she asked to have it switched. The employee proceeded to pluck the pieces of white toast off of her plate with her bare hands and walk off with them without saying a word. A few minutes later she came back with a plate of wheat toast and still didn’t bother to make eye contact or say one word about the whole situation. Shortly after she started spraying windex a few feet away from us while there was an entire room of people eating. It made for an unpleasant experience and the smell of windex began to permeate the small dining space. I did not appreciate this. Hopefully Bean Bag will address this issue. And tell their employees that taking food off of a customers plate right in front of them is not restaurant best practice. Other than that, keep up the good work.

Bean Bag Café’s a versatile spot that’s good for a meal, snack, drink, or work environment. The $ 3 happy hour pints until 10pm are a real solid for grabbing a quick drink or, if you’re like me and alcohol gets the creative juices flowing, great for working too. I also tried their thai iced tea($ 2.25!!). Minor complaint, but they added too much half and half, so be a little wary or ask for reduced milk in yours. Wifi’s pretty stable for my standards– it only dropped once in the 4 hours that I spent here. Further, it only took about a minute to get it restarted. Bathroom’s not the cleanest thing in the world, but not the dirtiest either.

Great place for unpretentious, delicious weekend breakfast. Place starts getting busy around 9am, but even then, the line moves really fast. Good alternative if you’re looking to try something other than Eddy’s or Mojo down the street(both awesome places). The pancakes are great and huge. 2 pancakes is probably more than enough for most people.

Bean bag café is a great local spot that is as good as it gets. I’ll give you some of the highlights: 1. The beer price is unbeatable($ 2.50 for Little Sumpin’ & other craft beers). 2. Their breakfast burrito although pricey is indeed one of the best in the city(I recommend adding chorizo); their other breakfasts’ are good too 3. I love their chicken pesto crêpe; I am guessing the other crepes are good too; side salad and homefries beat the french fries IMO 4. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, meaning you can go there to work on your computer, read a book, or catch up with friends and still feel very comfortable 5. The service there is great, the staff are all positive, helpful and upbeat; you’ll get your food pretty quickly after you order at the counter and your beer right away 6. Insider tip — check out their daily specials when ordering something to eat and you may find something good there Overall, food wise I’d go with a crêpe, pasta dish, or breakfast dish over the sandwiches/burgers. I highly recommend checking this place out for a casual experience.

Not sure why this place is so high rated! Obviously the chef doesn’t know how to cook simple eggs Benedict(it was overcooked) — we also got a crêpe with bananas, Nutella and ice cream. It was served with all our orders and the ice cream came half melted. The crêpe was so hard and way too stuff! Also my toasts came with hair!!! And the smile of the waitress was totally optional.

Came here for breakfast with my friend. I love this place! Originally we wanted to eat there but changed our minds after we have placed our orders. I ordered the basic Crêpe with salad. The friendly employee handed me my food with a smile and asked if I wanted utensils, or condiments. The food is absolutely delicious. If I am ever in the neighborhood I will have to stop by again.

I normally love Bean Bag — good food at reasonable prices — but today I experienced some of the worst customer service in all my time in San Francisco. A friend and I ordered the same customized bagel: whole wheat with cream cheese, scrambled eggs, avocado and tomato(not all too different from the other bagel sandwiches BB offers) and an iced tea. 25 minutes later, after witnessing a cook in the back pick our order receipt up off the ground, we asked a girl behind the bar to check on our food, to which she responded«it’s almost ready.» Apparently«almost ready» and just getting started are the same thing. Ten minutes later, still no food, we asked again and she gave us the same canned response. I don’t care that the food is taking so long. I care that I’m being lied to. 45 minutes after ordering a couple of bagels and eggs, the waitress plops down in front of us two haphazardly thrown together sandwiches on two different types of bagel. No «sorry for the wait» or anything like it. My friend asks for a refill on his iced tea(he had planned to drink the iced tea with his food but we didn’t expect to wait 45 minutes), to which the waitress replies«that will be $ 1.50.» Amazed that he is getting charged for a refill of iced tea after waiting 45 minutes for the wrong order, he requests that the refill be free. She walks away. We figured she was either coming back with a refill or an explanation(either would have be fine). Instead, she just didn’t come back. Nothing. My friend walks up to the counter to ask the manager, and the manager tells him the waitress doesn’t have the authority to do that. Again, that’s okay, but it would have been nice to know so that we could have asked the right person. So he explained what happened to the manager and the manager tells him it will be $ 1.50. Unbelievable. There are too many good restaurants in San Francisco to spend money at a place with such horrible customer service.

The girl taking our order today(09⁄031:30pm) was so sweet, upbeat, patient, and helpful with our order. Her suggestions for the sandwiches and burgers were definitely great! I had the portobello mushroom with added grilled chicken and my friend had the cheeseburger with fries. Servings were huge so we even took half to go. Overall, loved the experience and food!

Came here for brunch with my sweety and our pooch. I spend a lot of time complaining about how cold SF is but on this particular day– we sat outside this café and I started melting. It was so hot and at 11am the sun is really hitting the outdoor area on their divisadero side. Nbd– food was quick and delicious and the iced tea kept me happy. My dog on the other hand couldn’t have tried to sit farther into the shade under my table.

I really became a fan of this lovely little neighbourhood café — so much so that I hit it twice in 2 days. These sorts of jack of all trades cafes wouldn’t really exist in the UK but seem really popular in the States — ticking a lot of boxes and open at all time of the day! Breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, burgers — all look fresh and the burgers I had were lovely and tasty, just what you think of when America comes calling, with a side of avocado I paid $ 11 each time. Staff were friendly and pleasant, loads of outside seating and the wifi is quick — what’s not to like! Great selection of very reasonably priced local craft beer on offer too.

love visit new places. I was at Bean Bag Café the first time and I hope I’ll come back here again. my pen pal invited me to visit him and I was happy I did) after night of hot spots I went out chasing the healthy breakfast and I found it. I actually I was amazed with a great selection of breakfast options they have, casual and friendly atmosphere, inexpensive and high quality food and many seating options. that early morning my breakfast consisted of bran muffin and thai ice tea, everything I needed to get energy for the entire day. I think people who live here are bored with this place because visit it often, but I was there the first time and liked it, so I recommend Bean Bag Café to everyone who visit San Francisco first time.

First of all, I never review anything. I maybe have 2 reviews on here my entire time of living in the City; but that’s besides the point– Bean Bag is great. Their baristas are awesome and make great espresso drinks, and have even offered to make me another drink in the time(s) I’ve spilt my drink on the walk home. Keep brewing, y’all! However, I am writing about having tried the Italian Sausage Pasta this evening. Comes with a side of cheesy bread. I got mine to go and it was still awesome. Cheesy, fresh, good flavour– exactly what I was in the mood for. Thanks again ladies!

This chill place on the corner of Hayes and Div has everything a decent San Francisco street café needs — coffee, great food selection, and window front seating. This is especially important at least to me since sitting there and watching the crazies fly by sometimes is the highlight of my day. One evening I had a staring contest with a homeless guy who saw me sitting in the window. Although I’m not sure if he stared at me or was just in his own little world. Anyway — when you come here you need to try the BREAKFASTBURRITO, the FRENCHFRIES, and FISHTACOS. They’re petty good. The coffee selection is okay, Hazelnut reminds me of Panera Bread but it’s a good thing they have it. I’ll be back for the next staring contest.

Really liked this cozy café that was close to the Metro Hotel where we stayed during our trip. Stars for: — Plenty of yummy brunch options at decent prices — Friendly, friendly service — Comfortable atmosphere with various seating options — Free wifi — Great music playlist — Bar chair in the corner by the window that has a «Gnarles[sic] Barkley» name tag on it(Me: Is this Gnarls’ chair?! But… why would he misspell his name?) «I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind…»
