After paying, giving my name and waiting at least 10 minutes for a drip coffee, they had forgotten my order= ultimately no coffee They did give me refund so I think they deserve at least 1 star

Super nice staff. There’s not much of a store but there’s adequate seating area if you just need a seat and don’t need a table.

Good coffee, super hipster atmosphere. Open seating, kind of too open. Seems like a waste of space, really. Haha Clean bathrooms, but if I’m paying 5 $ for a cup of coffee they better be squeaky. Connected to a way overpriced pottery store, fitting. They also sell t shirts and tote bags to take in on that yuppie money. Yes I am Sipping on that haterade but they’re doing well for themselves so it don’t matter.

Fast friendly. Always get the daily drip. Always great. The Gruyère pretzel bun is a good compliment as well

Bah. Fine coffee, bad experience. Blue bottle is supposed to be one of the best in the area, so being a recent transplant, I made it a point to stop in here. I tried both the espresso as well as a cold brew, but somehow my order got mixed up and it didn’t get made until I asked if it was going to be made. Miscommunication between the two people working, I supposed, but it was pretty awkward to have to be like«Hey, where is my order?» «did you not get it?» «Uh, you haven’t handed me anything yet, so no?» «Oh… weird.» I kid you not, she said that it was«weird» that I had not received the order that I made with her. Ok, so they made it right and comped me a drink, and I appreciate that. In the end, the coffee was OK I guess. I’d never go to Blue Bottle over Peets, so maybe I’m just not a «serious» coffee drinker, but if you already love Blue Bottle, this review won’t sway you anyway. Still worth a try at least once, I suppose. Just don’t let your expectations go too high before coming here.

Coffee and espresso based drinks are not discernibly different from the other Blue Bottle locations, that is really high quality and consistent. I was hankering for a sweet treat but there were flies swarming the cookies and pastries so I decided against. However, the setup isn’t as conducive for hanging out and working. There’s a few benches and some group tables but lacks the warmth or coziness of the Mint Plaza one. Otherwise, the same markings of a SOMA/Potrero Hill building — highly vaulted ceilings, former warehouse, modern and industrial open layout. Coffee is served in Heath ceramic mugs, so slightly taller and narrower for the espresso based drinks. Good coffee, but the Hayes and Mint locations feel warmer and more welcoming ambiance and service wise.

strange, as I was putting together my ‘Favorite Coffee Roasters’ list. I swore I had reviewed this location, the SoMA location and the Ferry Building location! What can I say about Blue Bottle that hasn’t already been said?! I’ve always enjoyed their espressos(while not my favorite, still top5). I actually enjoy their lattes too and I’m usually just an espresso kind of guy. Their bean quality is always top notch and the Baristas are fairly good for the most part. Everyone that I’ve taken here has enjoyed their beverage so that’s something. Blue-Bottle has become an SF staple over the years. And with good reason. Quality drinks and quality service. A must try if you’re into coffee ;)

Not sure that it lived up to the hype, but I appreciated their customer service after a screw-up. I’d heard that their espresso was so good that, if you ordered anything other than a shot of espresso, then you’re an idiot. So, my friend an I ordered a shot of espresso each. They came in adorable ceramic cups+plate along with a sparkling water to «cleanse our palettes.» Welcome to CA. :) The espresso was super spicy; maybe it just wasn’t my thing. My boyfriend ordered an iced coffee. They were busy, and took FOREVER… we thought. After about 10 minutes of an Iced Coffee not showing up at the Pick Up, we asked where it was and had some weird back-and-forth with the cashier about having never received it, until the barista admitted she’d never made one. Once it was realized that«the customer is always right,» we received the iced coffee, pronto, plus another one on the house. Nice ambiance, but we noticed right away that there were only chairs — not tables for working like most coffee shops. Nice branding, but stupidly pricey and a snobby feel. Not sure I’ll be a regular.

This is the coffee that made me fall in love with SF. I came here for the first time last summer on a date and had a latte. Amazing! The hipster vibe, coupled with being right next to Heath Ceramics, was right up my alley. I love it! Then, I kept coming back and have never been disappointed. The New Orleans Iced Coffee is my go to, and I think everyone should try it!

I heard so many good things about their coffee so I went to go try it out. First of all, this location is so hipster! I love it. It is located in what looks like a warehouse from the outside, but in the inside the interior is on point. Right next door there is a clear working warehouse which I thought was fascinating. The workers are nice and quick with your drinks. Overall, I am a fan of the quality of their coffee. Coffee: –New Orleans Iced Coffee: Smooth and Sweet. Easy to drink, personally the bartender put a little too much milk for my liking so I would ask for less milk. –Single Origins Iced Coffee: Despite popular favoritism of the New Orleans, I actually enjoy this cold brew better because it is much more rich in coffee flavor. They serve it black so you have control over how much milk/sugar you want. There is seating towards the back where you and company can talk and chill out. Bathrooms are also in the back which are easily accessible and clean. Parking: Quite difficult. Circled around around 5 times until we found a spot about 3 blocks away. Be patient and may the parking odd be ever in your favor.(actually that applies to everywhere in SFLOL)

Interesting there’s a kiosk at Heath Ceramics. But hey if youre checking out one migt as well get some caffeine! It’s been hot in SF lately so a cold brew made for a good beverage. I thunk hey technically had closed but still set me up anyways. Solid single origin brew… refreshing and decently strong… Caffeine and ceramics!

I’m from Ohio and I used to have Blue Bottle 17ft Ceiling shipped there because it’s THAT good. Difficult to overstate the quality these great people infuse into your coffee. I love Blue Bottle. 5 Stars.

This location is a very convenient location for me because I do not have to drive downtown and the parking is SO much easier! The coffee made at this location is just as good as any of the other locations in SF. Depending on who the barista is, the NOLA may taste a little different each time. The wait isn’t as long because there are not as many people at this location. Tips for people going to this location: 1. Ask people if they are in line. I have had multiple people say they are in line, even though they were standing the back away from the register. 2. Pay attention to your order and who is in front of you or behind you in line. I have had my drink swooped by some girl who was not paying attention to her order and took my latte instead of her nonfat latte. I would also recommend this location to call out names when it gets busy.

If you want a higher level of coffee, come to Blue Bottle. Just SIMPLYGOOD beans and coffee. Get black and taste for yourself. This is a splurge for most people. You get what you pay for. I come here when we are visiting SF from SJ. I also buy at least 3 bags of coffee to take home.

I guess I’m a Coffee Bean gal, because this place was really just lost on me and more up my brother’s alley. I like a place to sit with a table, though I get that’s how you end up with laptops and what have you parking at a place for far too long. Oh well. Had they had soy milk on hand at the location we stopped at, it might have been a different story, but sadly, Mr. Bourdain, I don’t think this place is all that.

Uhm, I like Blue Bottle a lot and think the coffee is DELICIOUS but had a bit of an awkward experience when I ordered a small decaf latte. First, I was HEAVILY persuaded to order the standard 12oz cup instead of the 8oz for just a little more money(I appreciate that, really!). I told them I didn’t really want to and that seemed to make the barrista hate me. Then, it was like a bomb went off behind the counter because the four workers were running around like headless chickens trying to assemble a decaf latte. I waited a little longer than I wanted to(but whatever) and then I heard«decaf cappuccino». I didn’t immediately respond because I got a latte and the barrista then shouted«DECAFCAPPUCCINO». I walked over and asked if it was the«decaf latte» and she said that they were the same thing and handed me the drink. I wasn’t really bothered and my life wasn’t negatively affected, but I did roll my eyes as this experience further confirms how pretentious coffee culture has become. Also the music is really loud. I wouldn’t know how anyone could try and read a book here. It’s also really expensive.

If I could give negative stars I would. Worst customer service and WORST Latte. I wish I had the name of the employee who was training the new employee because apparently neither of them know how to make a Flat White or a latte. Who in SF serves a room temperature whole milk latte? It’s a simple order; using my own 16 oz mug I specifically asked to make sure they only added enough milk(12oz) and BOTH times they filled my 16 oz mug to the top. I should have asked for my money back.

Yes Blue Bottle only a block away from Mission Cliffs! I have to admit that service was a tad bit slow(even for Blue Bottle standards) this past Sunday. The hubby walked to the car and back, and I was in the same position in line. Alas, it’s okay because it’s blue bottle and one sip makes everything okay. I appreciate how Blue Bottle is the same across the board no matter which location I go to. it’s comforting really. Thanks!

Moved to SF over 9 months already and this was my first time having Blue Bottle Coffee –_– Well, the location in Ferry Building is first I knew about Blue Bottle and there’s always a long line there, and I gave up every time I saw that. One day my friends came up from the East Bay and they suggested to go Blue Bottle, and this branch is the closest to my place at Noe. When we got there, I had completely no clue there’s a coffee shop inside that massive warehouse-like building(it’s Heath Ceramics by the way). It looks like Blue Bottle rents a corner of this big building? Because of this factory/warehouse like setting the ceiling is super tall, and the atmosphere was extremely spacious. There is a big seating area too but it’s a perfect location to just chill and catch up with friends. Café Latte: A. Very nice! I don’t recall having such good latte in the past. Once I had my first sip I knew something’s different — I don’t know how to describe it but it tasted like a seamless mixture between the espresso and the steamed milk. I am no where close to a coffee professional but it was just a very unique, smooth, and satisfying latte I had not experienced before. Mocha: A-. Chocolate-flavored food/drink is not my thing(although I love bare chocolate) but decided to give the Mocha a try the second time I went there. It’s actually not bad. The chocolate flavor wasn’t too strong(a plus for me) but it was just another seamless chocolate /hot milk /espresso combination. Yea, the cost may be a little high, but once in a while I think it’s definitely worth coming because their coffee is just so good. For those of you that have never been to Blue Bottle, please go check it out!

Blue Bottle coffee is pretty tasty. It’s even better when you’re drinking it with a view of some large piece of machinery that makes fancy coffee cups or tiles or something. Even if you’ve had Blue Bottle somewhere else, check this one out. It’s hidden inside Heath Ceramics. It has this really neat space, walled by huge windows looking at some stylish machinery. There’s also a huge amount of natural light(my favorite when trying to escape my dark apartment.) If you haven’t been to Blue Bottle before, the New Orleans Style Ice Coffee is tasty. I have this suspicion that you get more to drink if you order it to go. If you want to feel like you’re in elementary school again, it also comes in those little milk cartons. Their warm coffee drinks are good too. If you’re lucky, you’ll get your drink in a fancy ceramic coffee cup. Blue Bottle can get crowded, and it’s more of a chatting café than a reading café. So grab a friend and check it out!
