Cheapest espresso drinks in the area — a single latte/cappuccino goes for $ 2.25(no tax), whereas at most other places in the city, it’s going to be at least $ 3.50. Note that this is not the place to go if you want top quality; it’s the place to go if you want an affordable, decent tasting, on-the-go caffeine fix. Also, the owner is very friendly and welcoming! Note, they’re cash only.

Unsafe! Ripoff! They charged nearly $ 60 on my card after buying one drink. I called the location to discuss and they hung up on me when they heard the words«dispute» and«credit card company». They also hung up on the credit card company. Buyer beware!

Pretty basic coffee shop. As others state owner is very friendly and chatty, but don’t come here expecting a great cup of coffee. Food options were also not great, the cookie I got was overly sweet. But if you are in need of a fix or a friendly conversation to start your day this place will do nicely.

I really like this little coffee shop. It’s a lovely and cozy place, owner is super nice and I like their mocha. If I don’t go in to get something, I always make sure to say hi as I pass by on my way going to work. Hope you’ll do the same to support this delightful local place!

Grabbed a quick coffee since I was running early for my appointment in the neighborhood. I want to bring this adorable little coffee shop(and the owner) back to the East Coast. When was the last time you were sincerely welcomed to a place of business where they are selling a quality product for a modest price where they could easily charge much more to compete with the pricing of big name coffee shops in the area. It’s definitely a no frills Mom & Pop kinda place but what else do you really need?

Isa is friendly and chatty, great place to kill some time and have a conversation. Espressos are solid. Nice corner location. He has a few books under the table to read or bring your own.

Of course their coffee and food aren’t the best, but 4-stars for awesome owner! He is SUPER nice and accommodating and makes you feel so welcoming and comfortable :) They also have free books that you can read along the windowsill. The only negative is that they give you a really small portion of iced americano in a weird plastic cup that I didn’t like. It’s a nice café to go to if you work around the area or happen to stop by.

Time: 1:27pm/72°F mostly cloudy Purpose: Came on a previous day the owner was just leaving, kinda slam the doors on me. Didn’t write a review base on that, it would’ve been a one star factor. Needless to say I gave him another chance at it then I’ll decide how I will grade it. Ambiance: Counter stool seating only, sits 4 facing Bush st. Feels creepy and run down everything for shop use is not commercial quality grade. A household refrigerator in one corner, 55’in Samsung flatscreen(off), display case with nothing in it, couple of pastries/danish cases fill with more than day old goods. Sliding door cold fridge holds the cold drinks. Shelfs on wall line with Torani syrup, bottles were pretty dusty. There was an ATM flush with store front but paper plaster on display screen reads«out of order». Restroom is shut tight even when ask to use it, man gave gangster look. No music nothing very quiet not ideal for secret chats. Staff: A man in his 60’s gruffy looking and kinda rude. He chats in another language possibly Arabic, not sure but wasn’t common to hear it all the time. All I wanted was a cappuccino and he looks at me still yapping away on phone. What can be that important than to stop and use 2 – 3 to make me my capp? I sip the capp and ask him what beans or brand, he answers me that it was his bean in a rude manner. Told me to get a cookie with drink. I didn’t want anything but a cappuccino, can’t even understand. Cleanliness: Grade C-, lots of household equipment being use here. The self serve water dispenser looks like it was from the 70’s military green with corners that looks like it has been drop from a B-52 bomber on a training mission. The brown fridge in corner has to go man, sorry to say. Eats/Drinks: Cappuccino triple $ 3.25, very weak in body and it’s foam was like shampoo light and thin. The taste was off, as it tasted like the kind you wake up in hotel restroom make your own with package coffee and one time use filter box. God dam even McDonald’s McCafe taste better than this crap. Products: Bagels, chips, cold/hot drinks, sodas, juices, torani syrup, cookies, candies, pastries/danishes, gum, muffins, biscottis, scones. Punch Lines: Lower Nob Hill, corner spot, 4 seater, no Wi-Fi, rude, cold stares, non functional ATM machine, uses household equipments for a business, no attention to customers, on phone. Nearby St. Mary’s hospital, auto mechanic, Walgreen’s, TL, people on OD/tweakers, hotel, Bush street to downtown. Tradeoffs: You pay Starbux prices and get hotel DIY coffee drinks. Final Thought: There must be something going on here. Owner don’t care if you buy or not. As for that ATM goes the sign«out of order» in writing plaster on looks very old, not recent. Might be a front for something else happening. You people know what I mean like those Chinese restaurant in movies press a secret button and it transform into a gambling den. What ever you do just don’t stand near the ATM he gets nervous and keep looking at you. Hahaha I bet he’s hiding something inside or else why so nervous telling me to take a sit. Every time you’re near it he will look at you, stink eye look. The coffee sleeve jackets with Target store logo are use here. A good indication of frugal but wants to save as much as possible.

I love this place! The gentleman that runs it always has a smile and a wonderful greeting for his customers. I don’t drink coffee but they have a really good hot chocolate and the bagels are always fresh. I highly recommend Coffee Cabin!

GOHERE!!! I go here every day on my way to work. I walk up from Civic Center BART every day and this spot is the perfect place on the way into the office! Esam is an extremely kind and generous owner/employee. For example, I ordered a chocolate croissant one day before realizing I didn’t have the cash to cover it and after telling him this, he comped it for me! On a side note, I have read some of the negative comments below; to them I respond as follows: To the person who was sick after getting coffee from here: Your symptoms sound exactly like the flu. Not coffee induced. Dumbass. As for«parking sucks»: it’s San Francisco. Seriously? You’re trying to drive in the city and stop to get coffee on the way and expect to find parking? See above, because you are also a dumbass. Limited pastry selection: Uh yeah, duh. Mom ‘n’ pop joint. What do you expect? A $ 3 breakfast sandwich? Or perhaps $ 6 for a tiny ass cup of fruit? Go back to Starbucks if that’s what you prefer, and please do enjoy paying $ 2 for a small cup of crappy Early Grey tea, whereas at the Coffee Cabin, I get a medium size cup of great Earl Grey for $ 1.50. This is the best place in the area, which is saying something given it’s in the Tenderloin!

Beggars can’t be choosers, right? Which is why I went into Coffee Cabin with low expectations — I was in the area to be near a doctor’s office and the hospital, and Coffee Cabin was the first place I saw nearby where I could grab some quick sustenance. So I was VERY pleasantly surprised when the owner turned out to be the nicest man on the planet, and everything I ordered — a bagel, a chocolate chip croissant type thing, and a latte — was much better than I expected from a little hole in the wall. Bonus points for having a toaster AND cream cheese, unlike you know which major national corporate behemoth! Pop over here when you can — your day will be better because you did.

It’s proximity to St Francis is probably the only thing keeping it in business. The staff is beyond rude and has no concept of customer service.

In case you don’t read this whole review, two words apply: GOHERE! My friend(who is visiting from France) and I(who happens to be visiting from Southern California) were in desperate need of some wake-up-happy-medication in the form of shots of espresso. We happened upon Coffee Cabin, a cash only establishment with an ATM conveniently located just outside the door, and ordered a café au lait, a mocha and a bagel with shmear. We got our drinks and sat down to eat and enjoy the hilarity that would ensue. The owner/operator of coffee cabin is from Spain and he is HYSTERICAL! My friend and I were in stitches the entire time. If you need a cup of coffee and are willing to support a family owned kinda place instead of your frieneighborhood corporate chain, then stop in for some coffee at the cabin!

This place is definitely a whole in the wall, the owner is always smiling and always singing, it’s great when you walk in. His coffee is really good, I’d say a bit on the pricey side for coffee, but well worth it and tastes much better than starbucks. and I Come here pretty often. :) Oh… their bagles are pretty yummy too, I don’t know where he orders them, but if you don’t get them right in the morning hours, there’s not a lot of variety to choose from, and they are all gone. :)

For a little bit of time I was pulling all-nighters at the St. Francis Hospital. My grandpa was staying there for physical therapy and I would stay over night to make sure he was ok or needed help with anything. Anyhow though, so when morning rolled around and I couldnt handle staying up any longer I knew I would need some coffee. So I ran over to the closest place. And that was the small Coffee Cabin. This place is pretty small but they made a good latte and cup of joe for my aunt and I on several occasions. They have a small selection of pastries and I believe they also do bagels. Small place with a very nice owner. Its always nice to walk in to places and be greeted with a smile and a good morning.

Cute and friendly coffee spot! My Dr. is at 909 Hyde and I had some time before heading in for my appointment so i decided to stop into Coffee Cabin. It’s a tiny little spot but I really liked the small feel to it. The guy at the counter was really friendly and I’m assuming he was the owner which gave it nice warm vibe. The coffee was cheap, $ 1.50 and better tasting than you might expect. I liked that there were also a couple doctors in there talking, which made it feel like a valid spot too since it’s close to St. Francis and the docs support this place. Just seems like a little neighborhood gem!
