Note: I believe this place is permanently closed. The windows are covered and the door is gated. This place has been in this state for months, which is unfortunate, because when Krave was open, this little dining establishment offered a fresh alternative to the other eating spots around. Krave was a clean and bright little gem in the TL ‘hood. Everytime I grabbed a bite to eat, the staff was friendly and helpful. Bring Krave back!

=( CLOSED. CLOSED. CLOSED. CLOSED. CLOSED. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my boyfriend and I went to try this place for the first time and it was closed. Yup. I said it– closed. For a business that seemed to be doing so well, I was quite surprised to see that it no longer exists. Oh well… I guess I will stick to SJ Crawfish on 9th and Irving.

I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and it was pretty good, a nice slice of chicken and tasted delicious. The price is not bad, less than $ 10, and you can choose a side too.

YAY — — I FINALLY got to come here after reading, hearing nd thinking about this place for soo long :] Nd it was a lovely day too. Came here at about 3 pm nd got breakfast, another yay ! I came here with two others nd we all got breakfast in tha afternoon. Their menu selections aren’t very vast but it’s enough … I just got water because none of their beverage options really caught my interest. After looking through tha menu for about 5 – 10 minutes, we all decided to get one of their breakfast specials/combos; I got tha 2 pancakes, 2 sausages nd 2 bacons for about $ 5. I also got some curly fries(just to try how they were at this location) I was really craving some good pancakes. nd woot! They delivered. Tha curly fries, on tha other hand, could’ve been better/tastier. They were eh, OK. My pancakes were delicious, my bacon was awesome(I wonder how people could cook bacon soo nicely) nd I didn’t really care for tha sausages. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. Tha lady serving us(/owner) was friendly nd nice. It’s too bad that their selection of froyo change everday nd tha day i went was chocolate nd vanilla so i passed. =/This place is recommended ! Next time, I’m going to get tha eggs benedict over Canadian bacon on an English muffin !!

Ambiance — Non existant, but the place was clean. I’m certainly not inspired to spend my lunch hour sitting with a book. Service — The girl who took my order was engaged, polite, and all smiles. I quite liked her. Note: This place does not have waiter service. Food — I had the sweet potato fries and a bacon cheese burger. The fries could have used a bit of salt, but were perfectly cooked. The burger was well done, but had an intersting and tasty flavor. Next time, I’ll try the monte cristo.

Good food on the cheap. And in the TL, it’s really something when it’s clean and welcoming. Excellent place. I loved my french toast, which came with fresh sliced bananas on top. Yummy!!!

Great inexpensive breakfast spot! 1 egg, 2 slices of bacon or sausage and 2 pancakes(topped with strawberries!) was less than $ 6. Thanks to their breakfast special, I got free coffee too! The same combo with french toast is only $ 1 more. Plus, they serve breakfast ALLDAY! I plan on coming back for lunch sometime soon. A cheeseburger and sweet potato fries is only $ 6! The restaurant itself is cute but nothing special. The storefront has a striped awning and they taped pictures of their food on the window. Everything inside is new but basic, but they do have a big TV.

Oh, I hate to do this to the new establishment. But… I expect a lot out of breakfast, especially in downtown SF where Dotties and Brenda’s are a stones throw away. I ordered eggs benedict(tall order for a brand new spot, I realize) but the picture in the window looked SO good! Couldn’t even finish it, and I was pretty hungry. Just plain not good. My friend didn’t really enjoy her bagel either. They were EXTREMELY nice and friendly in there, so perhaps you should stop in if it’s for something simple. They do have frozen yogurt, which might very well be good. Just don’t expect too much.

This place has the best American breakfast and lunch in the area for the price. But… PLEASEOPENONTHEWEEKENDS! You did not give yourself enough of a chance to gain a following. I work in the city, so my wife and I will never have a chance to give you money. I will be returning to lower my rating if I do not get some weekend hours.

Hidden gem alert! I was in the neighborhood with my daughter and we just happened to walked right by Krave. What made me stop and come on in was the fact that it was brightly lit and super clean for a restaurant in *ahem* the Tenderloin/Civic Center part of town. Once inside I was quickly given a menu and was impressed by the breakfast and lunch items on it. Since it was still early, I opted for a breakfast item. As I was deciding on what to order, the waitress kindly suggested that I should try out the Breakfast burrito. So I gave it a try and It was awesome. It came out quick with a side of crispy hashbrowns. The burrito was filled with cheese, peppers, mushrooms, bacon, and eggs. All yummy… including the coffee! To sum it up, Krave is a super cute café that offers good food, great service and is just clean all around. Things to appreciate in that part of town if you know what I mean. So if you are ever in the neighborhood, do swing on by… I know I will again.

I stopped there for a quick breakfast. It opened recently apparently. It’s a neat place. I kinda felt bad for devouring the dish ferociously but I was really hungry. I had the 2 eggs, bacon, hash and toast combo. It also included with some strawberry jam. The fresh squeezed OJ is really tasty! Everything came up to around $ 10. I was agreeably surprised by the presentation.

Krave Café — THANKYOU for opening here! We needed a decent burger/sandwich place that ISN’T in Hayes Valley. I had the tuna melt w/sweet potato fries — $ 6.50 OHMAN that thing is HUUUUUUUUUUGE. I was only able to eat half of the tuna melt(it was a tad salty, but still super good) and the sweet potato fries were on point! I was seriously hooked on those fries. I cannot wait to come back and try all your other goodies, the burgers looked good! I saw a man eating one yesterday and wanted to ask him about it, hahahaa They have a special coupon for 15% off, valid till June 15th.

I noticed the big«Grand Opening» sign on the awning and decided to stop in today for lunch. A mere 2.5 blocks from work is quite the convenience. The menu included breakfast items(pancakes, omelettes, bacon, etc…) and salads, burgers, hot/cold sandwiches, sides, soups, drink, etc… I ended up getting the turkey avocado w/sourdough + curly fries and it was yummmmmmmmmay! My sisters both got burgers and another colleague got the turkey avocado w/bacon. We were all really satisfied and full– everything came out hot, fresh and delicious! I really wanted to get their froyo but I was too stuffed! I am so relieved that there is now a burger/hot sandwich place around the area, aside from Max’s which charges an arm and a leg! Welcome to the neighborhood Krave Café :) I’ll definitely be back.

Today was a Hello, Goodbye kind of day, to use something from the Beatles… Thanks to information from Lolia S. and Genevieve Y., I stopped by Krave Café since I believe it’ll be some time before I head over to this part of town again. I admit, I’m a copycat and I got what Lolia S. got… pancakes and fro-yo. Haha. The service was cheery and upbeat; they let me sample the strawberry and the Italian tart(flavors of the day). The strawberry seemed a bit too sweet, but the tart was just right for me. I had the 6oz.(small) with strawberry mochi; the mochi was smaller than other mochi offered elsewhere. Still, I liked that the frozen yogurt was firm and melted very little while I savored my pancakes! The pancakes were fluffy and filling; I went without syrup since the tartness/sweetness from the mochi fro-yo was a good alternative to me. I like how Krave Café seems to cater to two slightly different audiences: those who want the all-American diner experience and those who want the trendy, cutesy fro-yo/café experience. Fish and chips? Sure. Fro-yo too? Sure! The location of Krave Café is good and has potential; people pecking around the Asian Art Museum and SFPL(not to mention the government buildings all around) have another food option available now.

This is a new, welcome addition to the TL/Civic Center selection of eateries. It is brand new, I came on day two, May 11, 2010. The menu offers basic American breakfast and lunch offerings. I had the grilled chicken on sourdough with jack cheese, their delicious curly fries and a root beer. My luncheon companion had their egg salad sandwich. I was pleased with my sandwich, which was served on a plate with real cutlery… the root beer in an actual glass. My friend did not like her egg salad, which I agree was too bland. Perhaps the addition of a little mustard or pickles to the salad would be a good idea. The restaurant was spotless, of course on day two! I will be encouraging others to visit as well.
