I tried this place out for the first time because of its reviews on their breakfast burritos. I used the drive thru to find very welcoming customer service and also very prompt. I ordered 2 tacos asada and a bacon breakfast burrito. The tacos were decent nothing to great. The burrito however was good. It was fully loaded with bacon. I’m talking generous portions of bacon. It was a decent sized burrito but I’d have to say Pepe’s breakfast burritos are bigger. Meaning more bang for your buck. I also got a medium horchata. The horchata not that great. I don’t know if it was not enough cinnamon or what but it was OK. Overall I’d say id go back and try another breakfast burrito. I give this place 4 out 5 stars for prompt customer service and quality of food.

This place makes good food. I appreciate their asada the most. Workers understand special food requests. Someone said their burrito didn’t have much flavor… You need to ask for easy rice and beans so you can really get the most out of the flavor of their meat.

Our new go to spot in the 626… goodbye la dona! Drive thru, so it’s super convenient. Only negative is that it’s only open till midnight. All your standard taco meats at 1.50 per taco! Their quesadillas are super cheesy, and their burritos are well wrapped with rice, beans, and choice of protein. MUSTTRY their melon and pineapple juice!

Great staff. Fresh food. First timer, and I hope to be in the area at lunch or dinner time again. The Beans were really nice! The rice was spot on-way better than the main eat-in Mexican restaurant in my town! And the chicken in my burrito was relish. I saw another review that said the meat wasn’t as much as they thought it should be, but I disagree whole heartedly. The balance between rice, beans, meat, guacamole, onions and whatever else they put in the mucha grande dry burrito was perfect!

So lucky this place opened up near me! Go here about once a week. Love their bean and cheese burrito. Also recommend their potato tacos and their camarones a la Diablo(or something like that). Good food at great prices! Oh, their spicy red sauce has a great kick! Everyone is polite. A real gem.

Love this place!!! I’ve been here a handful of times and not sure why I haven’t put up a review sooner. Moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and stumbled upon this little gem. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican food, this is the spot! It makes me feel like I’m eating moms home cooking!!! Friendly crew and delicious food, large portions, and reasonable prices. I usually get the carne asada with tacos de papa special but everything I’ve had from there so far, has been amazing!!! Warning for those with sensitive palettes to spicy food — I underestimated their red salsa. Aye chihuahua!

One of my favorite places to have some breakfast burrito. Soft, tasty, huge & delicious! They have a new bureakfast burrito with spinach, mushroom, & some other stuff inside. I can’t wait to try. If you are going to use the drive thru, enter from the north side of the parking lot located on Rosemead Blvd.

Habanero is like a Pepe’s. They both have drive thru’s. They both have a simple but scrumptious menu. They both have a little outdoor seating area where you can see cars in line for the drive thru and smell car fumes. Which is better? I dunno yet but I enjoyed my burrito. Came today for an afternoon meal after skipping lunch. Ordered an machaca burrito and an all meat chile verde burrito. The machaca was around $ 5 and filled with a mixture of pork, eggs, and beans. The beans were unexpected but I love beans and didn’t mind them. Very tasty but I have to give this one to Pepe’s. As for the chile verde, it was all meat so it was around $ 7. The meat was tender and the verde sauce was pretty good. I’m not a huge fan of chile verde is general but it was good. Both plates had a handful of tortilla chips, some salsa, and some pickled veges. Quick and easy meal at a very convenient location. Food is brought out to your table so it’s semi-full service. Will be back for other dishes such as the enchiladas, pozole, and tacos.

Bomb food. Pezole all day every day. Their Gorditas and Shrimp tacos are delicious. Much better Mexican restaurant than Pepes on Rosemead). I wouldn’t recommend to get a drink from here since they water down their drinks.

The micheladas were not very good, tasted nothing but Clamato. Ordered a beer and waiter totally clocked out of work and didn’t bring the beer but still managed to charge me for it. Camaron tostada the was a fail as well, more verdura than anything. Place was a fail

The food is legit and although it shouldn’t have to be a distinguishing factor when choosing a fast food joint, the fact that I ordered for NINE people and they didn’t get a single aspect of the huge order incorrect and I WASNT missing anything, speaks volumes for me. I can’t say the same for a simple order for half as many people at National FF Chains…

After driving around for 40 minutes because taco la dona and king taco had the longest lines ever we finally stumbled upon habanero! My boyfriend supposedly says this place is legit, he comes here all the time during work. Well I had no other choice because at this point I had become so HANGRY(hungry + angry). We ordered a pastor burrito which was so full filling and delicious. I couldn’t even have had any tacos after… But I did :) I think the owner was the one who helped us, he was super nice. My boyfriend said they’re always nice whenever he comes.

Two words — taco salad. The Carne asada taco salad is perfect! Love the double drive through also I don’t know how they manage to make the food so fast unlike the many other Mexican food take places nearby. They also have reasonable breakfast options too.

LOVE their breakfast burritos! Never to fat or to skinny. Always the right amount of Mmmmmmmmm! A much friendlier environment than the Galley across the street.

Ordered a torta and medium horchata, $ 8 flat. Quick service. Torta was soggy as soon as I got it. Horchata was watered down, free refills so can’t complain much.

Ok so if you’ve been around Rosemead you know there many Alberto around, and if you want good cheap Mexican food it’s hard to find. I only discovered this spot because my friend use to live around here and it was a good place to come late at night. It’s very similar to Alberto’. The food is good and I like to think it’s better than Alberto. I usually get the Carne asada burritos, the cheese enchiladas plate, steak or chicken quesadilla. ALLDELICIOUS! I love the drive thru it makes it super convenient. I always come by if I’m in the area.

I always see this place on my way in so today I stopped to get a breakfast burrito. I was the only car there at the time and I was in and out in about 5 – 10 min. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito. It comes with bacon, beans, cheese, potatoes, egg, onions and cilantro. Some red salsa on the side with some chips all for just $ 5. It was tasty, flavorful and a good size. Would come back again to see what else I can have on the menu. If driving by check it out for a bite.

I find Habanero to be a pretty convenient quick-dining option when I get the munchies during later parts of the night, especially since they have a drive-thru(outdoor seating is also available). According to one of the staff members, they are open until midnight. The food is pretty decent, made ready in only a few minutes, and not expensive(you generally won’t spend much more than $ 10 – 11 per person, *tops*). Among other menu items, I am fond of their fish tacos plate and chicken enchilada plate is pretty good. I also like their horchata.

Good chicken soup. Stock maybe not homemade but I like how it tastes clean. No onions. Just veggies and chunks of chicken breast. I like how the chicken is stewed so it’s soft, not tough like most places. Drive thru service FTW! I like stopping here on my u-turn to Bhanu and Trader Joes.

On a whim, I stopped in here for a carne asada burrito. Really nice guys working there… They came out to my truck to take my order, and brought the food out to me since the car in front of me was taking forever. It was decent, but was mostly beans and rice, with just a suggestion of meat. At $ 6, I’m not in any big hurry to get back there. A meat burrito should have meat in it. The red sauce was hot, but otherwise bland. The green sauce had good flavor, but no heat. I would have mixed them, but there were only two of them. Let’s summarize: 1. Nice people 2. Put more carne in the carne asada burrito 3. Beans and rice in a meat burrito? 4. More salsa please I hear they have a great breakfast burrito, so maybe I’ll have to give this place another shot?
