I am upgrading my review to five stars because my experience was better this time around. We went for lunch and the waitress was actually smiling this time and the guy was very attentive. you have to try the olive tapenade with pita bread, it was delicious. My coworker at first did not want to taste it but then she too loved it. Great food at a great price. Will definitely be back.

I wasn’t very impressed with this place. We came on a Friday night and it wasn’t a very full restaurant, but it took a long time for the food to come out. However, my water was always refilled and the bus boy went above and beyond. The bread with the olive tapenade is probably my favorite thing. We ordered the appetizer sample plate. The pita was good and the sauce was tasty. The dolmas was too cheesy but the meatballs were tasty. I ordered the chicken marsala and it was just very unappealing… it was way too salty. What I disliked the most was the potatoes. It was flavorless with the exception of sourness from the lemon. The only flavors I got on my whole plate was saltiness and sourness, none of the rich satisfying flavors that usually accompany chicken marsala. No one at my table seemed to particularly care for their dish. Overall, a pretty mediocre experience.

My moussaka was absolutely divine… so yummy!(& filling, as they give a good sized portion.) I ordered the crab soup, which was ok. The crab was great,(teeny portion though) but the veggies in the soup were like frozen mixed veggies. The soup was a bit spicy, had a kick to it. Reminded me of my Italian grandma’s with the kick.(Although my grandma used fresh veggies.) My bf’s chicken gyro was ok, needed a lil more seasoning, but was moist. Also, the portion of chicken was small. Huge tomato slices. His salad was nicely sized and basic with cucumber, tomato, lettuce. The bread and olive tapenade they include with your meal was quite addicting! I am definitely going back there for more moussaka in the future, but next time will get salad with it… My soda(Coke) was needing a bit more syrup, I suspect.

Amazing Greek style food. The seafood is perfect. Prices are affordable and quite good service! Parking can be tough on weekends. If they have the butternut squash soup available be sure to order it.

Luke’s runs hot/cold. The disliking factor is that their cucumbers are sliced to big, the olives aren’t pitted(big mistake & a broken tooth). I’m now staying away from their salads. Hubby like the Greek burger with feta. I prefer the lemon soup. We got tired of eating there therefore we venture to various other areas.

Been coming to this place for the past year and a half(we’re new to the area). Went here 2 weeks ago and the owner or manager actually sat next to our table to accompany another couple. My wife and I were talking and when this man looked over at me I nodded my head, smiled and said hello how are you. No response, just a dirty look as he eyed me up and down. Felt awkward to me being that I’ve been around true Greeks all of my life, from Astoria to Philadelphia. When we get in our car to go home, my wife tells me she never wanted to go back there again. I thought that was weird being that she loved her dinner as usual. On our way home my wife tells me, he too, gave her a dirty look. So to the owner or manager, I say this. If you didn’t like my baggy sweat pants I was wearing that day, me neither. I’m wearing loose fitting clothes because I just had back surgery. If you don’t like my wife because she isn’t you usual fancy dressing, label wearing, model, I tell you this she is very humble electronic engineer with a dual masters and a bachelors. We enjoy good times together wherever we go but we deserve respect just as much as your guests you gave a bottle of wine to. Sad to say we will never return to this place again. At first we went twice a month, then, once a week. We are going to miss the food there because they are pretty good, Not great but good, and we mostly went there because we like to spend our money in our community. Would I recommend this place? if there’s nothing around that you’re used to having, nah. Especially if the owner mgr is going to spend the money you spend there all while he thinks he’s too good, and you’re just a peasant.

Fresh, delicious food. Get the hummus appetizer, it’s wonderful, creamy, fresh… Had the giant Greek salad, very tasty, wonderful dressing and heaps of feta on top. Comes with cucumber, olives, tomato. Very filling. Also has the layered cheese thing as an app. Totally forgot the name. Get it, you’ll love it. The best part about the meal… the warm bread they bring to the table with the olive tapenade. OMG– I’d eat that tapenade on everything. And, they sell it by the cup!!!

We had a good meal at Luke’s. We enjoyed the wine and didn’t expect the portions to be so huge! The wine was wonderful and the menu is plentiful. We had the chicken and veal Parmesan. I got full so quickly that I didn’t even eat into my chicken. The next day, we come to find the chicken was completely raw(reason for the three stars) so that was disappointing. We haven’t decided whether we want to go back and risk chance of food poisoning.

Had a wonderful lunch in a very pleasant environment today at Luke’s Grill. Delightful server(wish I had gotten her name!) made it a totally great experience. I live in Chicago, but will visit Luke’s on my next trip to the Bay Area!

I used to come here often and followed the menu on Unilocal for prices. However I went there recently and noticed that the prices sky rocketed to wayyyy too much. We got two Olympic salads, and a side of the yogurt dip with pita and it was $ 40. I work in SF and have found way cheaper and I don’t think it’s worth it. Don’t think I could come back here.

Food was okay maybe because I got my food to go could have been the reason. It was my first time there.

Opa! I’m an honorary Greek thanks to my high school bestie. We have been here a few times for dinners but recently checked out the lunch specials. I had the chicken souvlaki on pita followed by their heavenly baklava. The sandwich was good but I prefer the pricier options(also available during lunch). My absolute favorite item is the Greek Sampler with its quintessential salads, dolmades, hummus, and feta with pita. It’s a great veggie option, tasty, and filling. I’ve also had the Chicken Cypriana.

This place has some decent greek food but it is WAY too overpriced for what they have to offer. Some of my favorite items: — the olive tapenade with french bread — the Greek Sampler with different spreads, dolmas, and pita bread. Fresh and tasty. — the Sulvaki platter with the chicken. It’s an open face sandwich of sorts with dolmas on the side, tomatoes, onions, and a generous portion of greek yogurt sauce. Their menu has changed, so I can not speak on several of the menu items. Something that is really annoying is that the menu on Unilocal is not up to date. I was scrolling through it and ordered some take out over the phone. I don’t know if the waitress was new, but she accepted my order. When I arrived to pick it up, I saw that they had replaced the fried oyster sandwich I ordered with the fried calamari without consulting me, and were going to charge me for it. I pointed it out, they apologized and took it off, but I think it was very wrong to replace it with something I had no interest in and then not tell me about it, allowing me to pay for THEIR mistake. Unprofessional, and over-priced. Hopefully I find another Greek place around with equally delicious spreads.

I wanted to like this restaurant. The service is fine, no issue about that. The bread that is served warm with some olive oil/crushed olives is delicious. We ordered moussaka and beef kebobs. The moussaka would have been fine, but for some odd reason, there was a scoop of spaghetti sauce on top of the moussaka. That was strange to me. We ordered the kebobs medium rare, and they came medium well. They tasted fine, but we wanted them cooked differently. We were hungry, so there was no need to send it back. There is plenty of food, the value is great. We felt that it was almost as if the person who was cooking was not the usual cook or chef. It’s not bad food, just not that good. I may go back and have some salad and appetizers, not sure.

I’ve eaten here a few times over the years and never been that impressed, but was craving Hummus so I decided to give a try(again) and order some food for lunch. First prices listed here are incorrect. Ordered gyro platter, hummus appetizer, and Baklava = $ 33.00; for take out lunch? Switch my gyro platter to sandwich $ 26.40. Sorry, but that is a lot for lunch, they have no lunch menu. I still went ahead and ordered because I was craving Hummus. What a disappointment. Hummus had TOO much garlic it was over powering. I love garlic, so for me edible, but there should be a balance; you want to taste a combination of flavors. I ate a couple of bites of hummus half hour ago and I can still taste garlic. By the way it had an orange color to it, but menu shows standard ingredients. Gyro ok, sides are potato salad or fries, a Greek salad option would be nice. Baklava, small piece was $ 6, a little pricey for what appeared t me to be store bought. Tasted a little doughy like it hadn’t been fully baked and mostly dough. I gave this place 2 stars, but really feel like it’s a 1 star restaurant. Now I remember why I haven’t been here in about two years. I gave it a few tries to be fair, I won’t be going back.

Came here with my family and everything was awesome !!! I had the tilapia special and it was amazing, the sauce and lemon butter potatoes were perfect cooked. Sister and mom split the chicken parmigiana(yes it was big enough to split), and the kids both had big meals all of it was delicious! Now we are having dessert and coffee! If u are in the area stop by and enjoy!

Ate here in March with the bro-in-law, his son, and my spouse. They ordered the gyro wrapped in a pita. They both enjoyed their meals. My pics didn’t turn out, but others have posted the same thing in the photo’s. My spouse got the moussaka. He loved it. There is a cutaway pic of it I took. Lots of sauce, layers and plenty of meat. They started us off with the tapenade in olive oil and nice warm crusty bread. It’s difficult to stop eating the stuff before your meal gets to you. I opted for the gyro plate. It arrives open face with a pita on the bottom, topped with beef/lamb gyro meat, topped with tomato slices, onion slices, tzatziki sauce, and three tiny dolmas. One also has the choice of soup or salad and a choice of starch. A very good value for $ 14.95. I got the soup, the lemon chicken. It was very good. Again my pic was too blurry to post, but others have posted a pic of it. The dolmas are smaller than I’m used to, but for the food you get in total the small bite size pieces were a good way to start before digging in to the plate. The tzatziki is not the best I’ve had. Not enough garlic or cucumber for me. I opted for the«Greek» potatoes, which have a lemony flavor. Black pepper and some of the tzatziki were a perfect addition. More than enough food. Both me and the spouse too some of our dinners home. Me and the spouse saved room for desert, and my nephew-in-law always has room! lol. He and I opted for the baklava, my spouse got the cannoli. On the menu there are only 3 choices, I think the third one was tiramisu, but not sure of that. One price, $ 5/each. There are more choices, go look at the desert case before opting for the menu choices. Chocolate cake was in the case that night, see my pic. So our deserts arrive. My spouse takes a bite of his cannoli and says«OMG». So I know he is in desert heaven. After he was done«nom=noming» I asked if it was worth $ 5. He said yes. Now mind you this is ONE piece for $ 5.00. Me and my Nephew’s baklava’s were tiny. While good, and served in an unusual way(drizzled with warm honey) while it tasted good, I don’t think the tiny portion was worth the price. Also note the huge plate… a very amateur plating mistake… A bit of weirdness. We came here on a Sunday night and it’s a good thing it wasn’t too busy because it seemed only one person was running the entire FOH. He seated, he took orders, he rang up orders and took money, answered the phone and full-filled take out orders. The only thing he didn’t do was serve us. I’m glad we weren’t in a hurry. This is an ok place if you’re in the area after or before a Warriors game, but for me it’s not worth the trip to San Leandro.

Tres and a half but rounding up cuz it is not a chain. Old school Americanized Greek which means they’ll throw in some Itailian in the mix and some diner fare like a fried seafood platter. But when decent Mediterranean food is not exactly easy to come by in these parts, I’ll take their effort with an applause. Chose a glass of Greek red wine(can’t remember name, it all sounds Greek to me) and it was quite worthy. Nothing lush or opulent but strong red fruit flavor with more heat/alcohol than tannin. A great table wine, superb with rich foods. And at $ 9/glass, the pour was extremely generous, so no complaints from this lush. Started with Saganaki $ 8, which is a wedge of Kasseri Cheese, quickly flambé’d tableside. The result is a salty yet creamy cheese that from the slight heat turns into an oozing specimen of goodness that is screaming to be on some bread. The tapenade that came with the bread so melded with this cheese. Oh and sips of the table red wine with all this melted goodness were definitely on point. Pre-entrée we opted for their Avgolemono over a salad. A creamy chicken and rice soup with an assertive lemon background. Some may not acquire the tart flavor but I’ve always enjoyed this soup. A sprinkle of black pepper does it wonders. Grilled Lamb Loin $ 19(rib lamb chops) proved to be simple yet proper. Tiny tender and rich lamb chops grilled nicely and marinated in a herb, lemon mix. Seasoned well(almost too salty) this was a flavor bomb. Rice and veggies okay, quite diner-ish. Again super conducive with their Greek red wine. Moussaka is Greek comfort food. The ingredients and construction is straight similar to lasagna, just replace the wide pasta with slices of potato. This version had layers of ground beef, zucchini, eggplant, potato and all tied together with a rich tomato sauce and cheese. Incredibly filling and satisfying. A hint of cumin, maybe in the meat was an interesting surprise. Braised Lamb Shank $ 18 was chosen from the specials menu. An impressive Flintstone sized shank braised til tender was straight up my alley. I prefer more of a red wine/herb background and this was more conventional pot roast style(gravy). Still didn’t keep me from devouring it, this is a winner dish here. Love this style of food, a nice alternative to doing Italian flavors or the Middle Eastern kabob thing. If this were more of in a city environment the prices would be slightly more and the portions a lot less. This is a bang for the buck type of place. Thanks San Leandro, you aaiight in my book. *pounds chest with peace sign*

Called in a take out order on a week night for dinner. I spoke with a female she took the order and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. Hubs went to pick up. The order was ready when he arrived. I ordered 2 gyro sandwiches, one with rice pilaf and the other with Greek potatoes and of course dolmades. The Greek sauce was packaged separately as requested. The gyro was huge overfilled with strips of seasoned meat, tomatoes and some onions. The Greek sauce was fabulous with tons of flavor. I tried a few bites of rice, it was moist and fluffy. The potatoes were a small portion(equivalent to ¼ or 1⁄3 of a russet potato) and a little bland. The dolmades(6 each) were small and packed a lot of flavor served with tomatoes and Greek sauce. Our total was $ 26.28. Prices were worth the quality and portions given. Service while placing the phone order and during pick up were fine. The order was packed nicely and correct. Overall the food was great. I have been missing out on Luke’s, not to worry I will make up for lost time.
