Update: I had another appointment(surgical procedure) scheduled for this morning. I have had this appointment scheduled for 4 weeks. Yesterday when I got my confirmation call, my appointment was changed from 8:30 am to 12:00pm. Like I said previously, I have been a patient here for approximately 6 years. Over the years my appointment has been changed last minute. I know I’m not the only patient frustrated by this. It can be difficult finding a ride to begin with, but when they carelessly change your appointment last minute, it makes it even more difficult. I had to cancel my procedure this time because I had a ride for 8:30, not noon. At this point, and with continued lack of concern or respect for patients, I will not be returning. Oh, in addition… I spoke with my doctor about this new policy. He explained that if I wasn’t able to call back(as now required) and I had a justified reason, it would be at his discretion whether I still get my scheduled procedure or not(and it may not be at the scheduled time, I may have to wait). That means a trip from Paso Robles to SLO and no certainty in having the procedure I scheduled weeks in advance. Due to serious health problems, that have only gotten worse, I survive off SDI. My budget doesn’t allow for unnecessary driving.

The staff at Galileo Surgery Center are excellent, caring and compassionate. My physician is Dr. Timothy Kuang explains everything and he and his staff are great. I feel I am receiving the best possible care.

This is the most pleasant experience I have had, not only in a clinical setting, but in just about any business I’ve encountered. The way I was treated by everyone: receptionist, nurses, anesthetist, physician and support staff, was like an old friend. All my questions were addressed, my fears allayed — and soon forgotten: I was actually, genuinely laughing, knowing that in only minutes someone was going to jab a needle in my spine. Thank you all so much! You should be held as an example, throughout the medical field and to anyone else who claims to be interested in patient comfort and ease. I almost can’t wait to come back.
