I love, love, love this bakery! I went early this morning to pick up some pastries and cookies. I got canolis, nepoleans, cream horns, palmines and chocolate biscotti plus a slice of their famous almond torte! Every thing was delicious: fresh, moist and light and flaky! No complaints at all with the food or with the service. I always go to the one in San Mateo and never had any problems with the service. This was the first time I’ve ever had the almond torte and it lives up to its reputation! Sweet, moist, with a layer of raspberry jam to give it that extra Umph. It’s a winner and I’ll definitely be back for more!

After having an awful experience at another bakery over the weekend, it was great to walk into DiAndas Italian American Bakery during my lunch hour while at work, and have a great experience. The service was excellent and the cookie selection was plentiful and uncomplicated. I told the counter person which cookies I wanted, she put them into a box, weighed them, and I walked out with a dozen beautiful cookies for under $ 10. They were everything I’d hoped for some were, light, sweet, buttery, others were chocolate, and topped with cherries or filled with yummy raspberry every one was tasty and visually appealing and simply delish! Thus will be my go to bakery from now on!!!

It is one of the greatest memories I have as a child. I remember visiting the location in the Mission District with my mom when I was 5.

this place is bomb, their cakes are delicious and reasonably priced. They also always have cakes available for you to purchase as a walk in.

This Bakery is an authentic Italian-American pastry shop from fresh Danish pies to Classic desserts on to full-on cakes and Artisan breads you can sit and have coffee or you can pick up and take to go during the whole year they have different seasonal items traditional pumpkin strawberries banana you name it they have it through seasons the ladies who work there are very nice answer questions. this place I recommend I know the prices are fare because you’re paying for quality if you want to spend less money for poor quality then go to Safeway or Albertsons you won’t get to the freshness there. All items are brought daily from their San Francisco sister properties store in the city!

Best authentic bakery. Everything here is delicious. I’ve tried a variety of things: tiramisu, mil hojas, st honores cake, a bunch of different cookies, and my favorite, CANNOLIS. Even their coffee here is good and is a great addition to the pastries/cookies/cake slices. As I mentioned, the cannolis are my favorite. The shell is crispy and the filling is unreal. It’s perfect, not too sweet and has chocolate chips mixed in. They add the filling when you order which is nice so that the shell doesn’t get soggy. Nothing worse than a soggy cannoli. The st honores cake is a close second for my favorite. With the cream puffs all around the end it is amazing. The pastries and cake at this bakery are all made with real ingredients. It’s more expensive than say, getting a generic cake at safeway but that is because they use unrefined, non artificial ingredients fresh everyday and the taste proves that. It’s well worth the money. The people who work here are also really nice and friendly, answering any questions I had and not making me feel rushed. It’s a small place in a cute little plaza at the top of ralston. Always busy, I was surprised how many people there were coming through as I sat and ate. This is the only place I would get a cake for any special occasion and of course to stop by for their amazingggggg cannolis.

I am so so disappointed with Dianda. We bought pastry here several time… then finding out it was stale. My 2 slice of fedora cake and cannoli was STALE. I also have a birthday cake for tonight. I order the plain frosting, b-day cake on Wednesday but they did not have it went I pick it up. They got one from the back with green flowers. So they must of taken one from the freezer cuz she said to let it sit out for awhile so it can get creamer. I should hope it is not stale cuz we are celebrating my husband’s birthday. I called and complain and they said they said they delivery it every morning from San Francisco. We will see how the cake is tonight. So so disappointed. The can had ice in the cake. Cake part was DRYDRY. The cream only moisten it up. I am fed up with this place. Several times we had dry old stale pastry. Bad bad!!!

My go to bakery for all the bday cakes in the house! I loveeeeeee their thousand layers cake, my favorite. Their tiramisu, red velvet and rum cake are also very good! Street parking isn’t too painful, I manage to always park right in front every time. The cake decoration isn’t anything special but the cake is fresh and yummy.

Wow, what a selection of baked goods! This is the first time visiting their bakery. A very busy place at 10:30 in the morning. I was surprised to see how many customers they had in their bakery. It’s clean, quaint, and the baked goods smell amazing. Traditional Italian bakery. You name it, they have it. A little pricey, but you are getting quality ingredients. Love how you can get coffee or hot tea to have with your sweet treat and sit at a table to enjoy. Definitely will go back.

Great bakery for pastries, cookies, pies, cakes. Everything looks so good! I tried their famous almond torte — tasty, moist, and not super sweet which is great. I also got an apple strudel and napoleon pastry. Apple strudel was delicious — flaky crust — sweet apples — slightly too much sugar in the filling but good non the less. Napolean was good as well — flaky layers, custard filling — again a bit sweet on the filling but not bad.

I’m definitely not too familiar with Italian pastries or desserts, simply because I think I always end up ordering something extremely rich and heavy. Delicious? Always. But diet-friendly, not so much. However, after learning Dianda’s was directly under my dentist, I figured ’tis the season to bring some pastries to my co-workers after my appointment. THEHIGHLIGHTS. + Extensively filled bakery cases packed high with custardy, creamy goodness + Fast, friendly, efficient service + Decadent baked goods(the Napoleon was insane) I don’t think I could frequent this bakery without bidding my waist goodbye, but it’s a great bakery for special events or holidays(aka to share things with big groups!).

As a gift I got a box of cookies from Dianda’s and they were so delicious! Then my mom bought Dianda’s pecan pie for Thanksgiving and I was prepared to break necks for the last slice! So bomb!

I like the location of this bakery, but honestly, I was hoping for more. They have an awesome selection and I was more than pleased with the variety. The taste and quality weren’t really what I was looking for. I ordered a few petite fours and desserts to take to someone for their birthday. I got a few cookies for myself(I couldn’t help it, I love sweets). The cookies just weren’t as buttery or tasty as they looked. Also, I know they were super busy, but because I had never been here before, I needed time to figure out what I wanted and I felt a little rushed and pressured. There is ample parking and you can get a lot of errands completed in this shopping plaza. This bakery fills a need in this area, but there are so many other options in San Francisco…

Lovely corner café with fresh bakery and coffee. They have a wide viriety of deserts, quite atmosphere and fresh coffee. All you need for girl get together. I MUST admit that this place is by no way hipsterish nor have sf vibe. But they are good people and their cakes taste heavenly

I think I’ve just found the 5 lbs that I just lost! Pastries galore! My favorite is the tiramisu(which they were sold out of), but the next second best is their Napoleon. It’s worth the extra hour on the treadmill! :D

My ultimate fantasy cake for a birthday celebration would be one made with cream puffs strewn together with caramelized sugar. It doesn’t sound very exciting, but I like the simple things in life when it comes to pastries: flaky crust, generous cream and beautiful presentation. I was surprised when the bf consulted me first and asked, «so, the only reputable place I found on Unilocal for your St. Honore cake is Dianda’s» * jackpot! the boy knows to consult Unilocal first! LOL * He put in an order for a medium sized St. Honore cake that feeds 8 – 10 people($ 35) Dianda’s also has other cake slices available for purchase and you WILL be tempted to buy more, even if you already have a full size cake on your hands. I was very pleased with the way it turned out; exactly as I imagined it to be. Also, you can have your St. Honore cake filled with rum custard, which for an alkie like me, is another fantasy fulfilled. ;-)

I really want to like this place so came back a few more times. However the things I tasted were all just o.k. The cannoli does not have the fresh and crispy roll that Romolo’s Cannoli has. See my review: It was almost a little soggy on the outside. The napoleon cake was also just so so. The pastry layers did not really stand out and flavorwise also did not wow me. The other few times I came I also tried their black and white chocolate cake(dry), different kinds of butter cookies, and even the«hot cross buns». Everything was just an o.k. and did not really wow me. They were all very sweet and somehow just lacked a little extra«zing» in terms of the flavor or texture that made them really stand out… But I can see their production volume is high and being in the neighborhood they are located it does come in handy if you live close by and need a cake for some celebration or quick sweets for your immediate dessert needs…
