The Habit Burger Grill

I want to give a shout out to the manager at this location, her name is Tatyana! I had a situation with this location which I don’t want to focus on because I want to write this review about how Tatyana provided EXCELLENT customer service afterwards. Not only did she handle the situation at the time super professionally but I went to visit the restaurant after the situation a couple weeks back and she remembered who I was and am came up to me greeted me and made sure everything was PERFECT with my order. She definitely provided me 5 star customer service and appreciate it. Her behavior and actions on dealing with the situation made me completely disregard my one bad experience and want to come back. Good job Tatyana!

My family and I have been to The Habit a few times recently and we absolutely love it. The food, atmosphere and the employees have all been excellent. It’s a very clean restaurant also. Every year for my kids birthday we let them choose what restaurant they would like to go there on their birthday night. This year my son turned nine and he chose the habit. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left everything was exceptional. They accommodated us perfectly for a group of 15 and Luis the manager went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great time. Thank you so much for making that day so memorable and for all of your kind gestures. We will see you very soon!

Thoroughly pedestrian offerings. Not bad, but there are so many better burger places nearby.

This is one of the best fast food restaurant that I’ve been to. The cashiers are always very friendly and the place is always clean. Be warn that the line can get pretty long especially during the week during lunch hour… but the food is definitely worth it. The BBQ Bacon Char is heavenly! The meat, bacon and BBQ sauce all contributed to the delicious mush inside my belly.

No better quick burger joint in the world. Always taste fresh and quality with friendly service from the cashier to the cooks.

I work next door to this place, and I eat here pretty frequently. Food is fresh, prices aren’t exorbitant, the place is clean, there’s ample parking if you don’t work nearby, and all of the employees are friendly. What more can you ask for? Love their chicken sandwiches and salads. Great place for lunch.

I was actually impressed with this burger place. Although, didn’t order any burgers, I did enjoy the Quinoa, Kale, Chicken salad. Loads of flavors in one salad. The combination of sliced almonds, feta cheese, and dried cranberries complimented the quinoa, kale, and chicken. Also enjoyed the tempura green beans. I have to say it’s the best I’ve had so far! Nice and crunchy and the batter was very light. Will have to go back and try their burgers next.

This review is way overdue. So I live very close to this place, therefore I come here a lot. To be honest, not my favorite burger place in the area. However, the prices are very good. This place would be ideal for a casual teenage date or hangout. The ambiance isn’t bad and the prices are very good. The burgers are decent, but they aren’t amazing. They are, however, much better than McDonalds for a similar price.
Idk if I would come here if I did not live in the area.

A great deal for burgers in the area. Real burgers that are reasonably priced. I got a normal cheeseburger and fries and it was more than enough. The employees are nice as well. I prefer in-​n-​out but these burgers are solid and there are a lot of flavor options.

Came in to Habit because I had a coupon for a free burger to try them out. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much until I took my first bite, and I was hooked! Their burgers tasted fresh and flavorful. They cook them fresh while you wait which wasn’t that long. What I didn’t know was that Habit Burger has been in business since 1969 founded by two brothers from Southern California. I was also told they have many locations up and down the state. I had a great experience here and enjoyed their super friendly staff, probably one of the best service I’ve had at a burger joint in a long time.

I’ve since been back to The Habit and love their burgers. The price is right, the burgers are filling, and holy cow that taste…
I sadly don’t go as often as I would like but I surely will go more often than I have before.

The best fries? Right here. They’re just the right amount of crispy and the perfect size. The burgers are good too and a nice alternative to the taste of In-​N-​Out. Lucky for The Habit, the closest In-​N-​Outs are in San Carlos and Millbrae.

Perfectly OK for a fast food tier burger joint. I rank the hamburger itself below In-​n-​Out, Super Duper, and Five Guys, but think their onion rings and other sides are good!

I’ve been to the Habit Burger Grill many times, and each visit has been very satisfying. The Habit definitely serves burgers that are better than In N Out, and I love how the kitchen is completely open so you can see how they’re cooking your burger.
The shakes are delicious– and don’t pass up on those one dollar cones!
This restaurant always grills their onions. Sweet place!

The Habit was the last burger spot on my list of burger places to try. Although it’s been around for a while, I take few opportunities to splurge on food outings, but in my opinion it was a really good stop to make. First off, I love variety on a menu. I am so off the charts when it comes to looking for the «wow» factor on a menu. Anything that hints towards quality and health is a win-​win for me. So here goes my rating.
Feel/​Setting: Basic fast food type ordering and dining room. They give you a buzzer so you don’t have to stand around waiting for your food.
Menu: I’m a sucker for all things under the sun when it comes to choices. They literally have something for everyone. My significant other had no complaints about his double char cheeseburger. I had already decided I would do my best to stick to healthier options. I was pleased to see Albacore on the menu. It was grilled on a wheat bun and I got any sauces on the side. My splurge was the side of fried green beans instead of French fries. Loved all of it.
Taste: Simple yet fresh and scrumptious
Service: 4 stars — Friendly staff who makes sure to get your order right. Please keep tables clean. They get swept up pretty fast in between guests.
Price: 4 Stars — Reasonable compared to other «trendy» burger places ($ 9 – 10 for a meal)
Sum it up as something I could totally make a «Habit.» Napkin wipe smile :-)

I’ve been missing out! Not sure why I haven’t tried this place before til now, I guess I usually just go to in-​n-​out when I want a burger. But now I think I prefer Habit! This place is great for a quick bite. The burgers are more gourmet than McDs and chain fast foods but still very reasonably priced. I got the charburger with cheese, tempura green bean and a teriyaki chicken sandwich. I liked them all but thought the burger was the best value. My only minor complains are 1) no tempura sauce for the tempura green bean — ew who wants to eat green beans with ketchup, amiright?! 2) the burger had a lot of water in the wrapper after I was done. Not sure if it is because of the oil or wet lettuce. Luckily I ate it fresh but it would have gotten soggy otherwise.
I wish they had a drive thru, I would come here more often if I didn’t have to get out of my car!

Love The Habit — rivals In-&-Out for the best fast casual burger and that’s saying a lot.
I usually go with the Santa Barbara style cheeseburger, which comes with avocado and on sourdough bread versus a traditional bun — ridiculously good.
One of things I like better than In-&-Out is the fact that they have a few more topping options like bacon, avocado and jalapeños as well as sides, e.g. fries, onion rings and tempura green beans (my wife’s favorite).
They also have salads and a chicken sandwich that is pretty good as well.
Oh, and great shakes too!
The service at this location is top notch, the lines moves fast and the staff even comes around and asks if you need ketchup, refills on your drink, napkins, etc. I’ve never had this happen at other fast casual burger joints.
The worst part about this location is that it’s walking distance from my apartment, which makes it all too easy to get my burger fix. Convenient but hard on the waistline, haha.

This is truly burger heaven. Burgers are simple, fresh, and juicy. The green bean tempura is truly amazing, so crispy and light, and perfect with the ranch dressing they give you. The shake is a bit icy but still good. And the price? I am shocked that you can get a freshly made good quality burger for $ 5!

I committed the Carnivore Sin in here by not ordering a hamburger. Who does that when «Burger» is in the name of the spot? Me. But let me tell you that I did not walk away disappointed. I felt only *slightly* more healthy by ordering some «bad» salad that tasted oh so good.
SANTA BARBARA COBB:
Crisp lettuce, chopped tomato, avocado, crumbled gorgonzola, bacon, egg, grilled chicken breast, tossed in our vinaigrette dressing. Super fresh chopped veggies with a nice deviation from the usual bleu cheese. Gorgonzola, where have you been all my life? I love you. Grilled chicken breast had that nice «chargrilled» taste with great seasoning– not too salty.
I’m only taking one star off because I didn’t order a burger. I will be back to do these guys justice by putting some meat in my mouth.

First time trying habits. They had okay service .
We ordered the Teriyaki burger w/​American cheese and grilled pineapples and onions. We also added in an extra slice of cheese, avocado, and mushrooms. The burger was so delicious. The portion size is little compared to their pictures !
We also ordered crispy sweet potato fries ! It was Sooo good !
Overall habits is good! I would def come back to try the other burgers !!
