I’ve never had a bad meal here! I’m obsessed with their chicken Caesar wrap– I still haven’t found one I can even compare to theirs! The service is always wonderful and they have always been above and beyond friendly! I come here fairly often for lunch because I work up the street. There are so many good options in this area and I still choose to come here because I know I can count on a good meal to get me through the work day.

The food is always fresh here, their side salads are very tasty. I personally always order the goat cheese sandwich. The goat cheese is warm and the bread is very fresh. They also have an amazing honey ginger lemon tea that they make using fresh ingredients. The stir fry special is a great lunch option here. Over all I think it’s a great café. The outside seating is always where I sit.

Food is fantastic, service is amazing, and most importantly, for me, is that the order is correct(as i work as a Production Assistant). Marcel and bonnie know thier customers and are very polite and professional. love this place.

$ 6.50 for a coffee and regular sized muffin is way too much. But the coffee is great. Plenty of seating, since it’s in a store with a view of the bathroom. Nice service.

This café in the Fred Segal department store proved a perfect stop for me and my local Unilocal friend Mary B to have a sit down and catch up Like the rest of the store, it has a light and airy feel to it, creating a relaxing atmosphere They had a nice selection of fruit juice drinks which were perfect for us as it was the middle of the day

So I had an early dinner here yesterday night ordering the salmon special of the day. It was 2 large salmon pieces with fresh salad of crisp cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli and carrots! The dressing was light & perfect. I ordered the blueberry lemonade special too. It was around $ 25, which was pricey for one person but the portion was huge and ample allowing me to take some home. I love how healthy an delicious my meal was and love eating here whenever I shop. I didn’t like the service honestly. I made a simple compliment about a hat an employee wore and it was mistaken as a flirt and it was super awkward. The employee made this whole deal explaining who gave him his hat(his gf)…I told my girlfriend I was merely complimenting an accessory and it was weird! I didn’t think it was all that, I just thought it meant something else — ick! Who knew small talk could be turned into something so awkward. This was just bad. Next time, I’m definitely going to come here with a friend, male or female! I wasnt intending to flirt with anyone here and this guy was unprofessional and made it seem that way. I didn’t like the weird vibes so happily left. I am from LA originally and being a regular customer at FS think it’s odd that these egos still exist. Then again, it’s a place where there are out of state people(or just non social people) who think they are cool, when they are so not. I think it’s weird how people act when a girl is confident and is in her zone then twist it as a flirt just because simple small talk is made. Well now I know best to go here with someone to avoid situations like this.

Another office favorite. The tuna salad is perfect for lunch, and I’ve had it in different forms: Tuna salad sandwich or Marcel’s protein bowl(with black beans, avocado, cucumbers and pico de gallo). I also like the Caesar salad wrap with avocado and cucumbers. Fresh squeezed orange juice, daily flavored lemonade specials, and brewed iced tea are always a refreshing addition to the meal. I spend an average of $ 5(cup of soup or half a tuna sandwich)-15(protein bowl + drink). I may be the only person who loves the chocolate chip cookies but I’m okay with that. If you like the homemade Nestle Tollhouse recipe, this tastes true to that. Super easy to call ahead to place your order then pick-up. It’s also a good spot to meet a friend or to bring a book during a lunch break.

How can I forget to write a review for this place!!! After a day’s worth of shopping at Fred Segal, this is my little oasis… they have everything you’ll want in a café(coffee/tea, salads, soups and sandwiches). The food here is tasty, healthy and the prices are reasonable. Half sandwich & salad or soup combinations are real good. I’m also in love with their eggplant sandwich. The green chai latte is out of this world… even with non-fat milk! There’s a small dining area with tables & chairs and also additional seating outside on the patio. Definitely a great place for people-watching!

It’s been a little over a year since I moved to SaMo from NYC and I work just a few blocks from the beloved Café where I easily eat 3−4X week. Their specials are amazing — fresh fish, chicken fajitas, and their soup can’t be beat. The quality of the food is so high and it’s consistently great. The staff is super friendly and the bonus of getting to shop @ FS is just the icing on the cake. There are no other comparable cafes on the Promenade or SaMo Place.

They have pretty good quesadillas — I’ve tried the chicken pesto and the spinach and mushroom. It comes with a side salad that never quite has enough dressing even for me(and I love lightly tossed salads). The iced teas are good though. I can’t remember what I ordered but all of them smell really fragrant. The service is slow and the prices aren’t all that great. The lighting is too bright for my liking. Like others have said, pretty forgettable.

My friend and I swung by Fred Segal Comfort Café for lunch not too long ago and I was not very impressed. _the food: 3 stars I ordered the Sunflower & Lentil Veggie Burger with Pickles, romaine lettuce, tomato, sprouts, red onion, sun-dried tomato pesto, and dijon mustard. or so the menu said. I didnt taste much of anything besides the lentil. The burger was just ok and it came with garden greens and a quarter potato. Random. _the ambiance: 2.5 stars Although we were there for lunch, the harsh lighting made the place a bit unpleasant. Overall, it was a forgettable lunch.

Pretty tasty and great for those who are conscious of what they put in their bodies! THEORDER: Lentil Veggie Burger: 3.75 stars… the burger itself is a lentil-lover’s dream… i added avocados and it was really tasty. Sharp red onions, tangy pickles, sprouts, and a thick tomato slice… yum. It came with a mini salad… the dressing was almost non-existant, which bumped this down a notch bc, while i have no problem with an essence of dressing, that only works if the dressing is super flavorful; this was not. I also appreciated how it was served on a toasted(not grilled in butter) wheat/sunflower seed bread. Also, bc of the lentils, this turned out to be a little messy after a few bites– i didn’t mind, so much. Chocolate Chip Cookie: 4 stars… while I, personally, didn;t order this, i tried it… and i loved it… great chocolate chips and lots of them. All in a crisp, yet chewy cookie… yum! SERVICE: Overall, good! I’d def go back… there seemed to be a lot of things on the menu that I would enjoy ordering. xo– andrea

Not sure if I would consider this place the epitome of «comfort,» but my parched little mouf was definitely happy after sipping on an Arnold Palmer made with a lemon and guava mixture after some tooling around at some of the shops in the surrounding area. So for that, then yes, it is a comfort café in the middle of an overpriced store full of beautiful people with more money than any of us… but hey, I’m not jealous or anything, right? :) As for the service here, it was very friendly and quick and zippy, so overall A okay with me. My co-workers make weekly trips here. I have been hanging back, assuming that the food really isn’t worth the high price or high brow atmosphere. Though today was different. I took the plunge and went with the group to the Comfort Café. I had a half of a sandwich with a side salad and a baked potato for about $ 9.00. I was shocked! The price was reasonable, the food was very good, and I wasn’t thrown off by the atmosphere, I actually liked it.
