McDonald’s

It’s McDonald’s, but it’s right next to the beach… so they think they are some high class restaurant?! LOL As others have said, yes they do charge more here for everything is seems. Not sure why, If you eat here you are poor, broke, or looking for a cheap meal.
It’s funny and makes no sense on the surface but if you dig deeper you will see why this is not fair. If you ever go to cheapo stores 99 cents only store/​grocery stores in the ghetto/McDonald’s etc… you will see LOTS of homeless people camped around. They beg for spare change. But why? Why not beg in front of an expensive place where people actually have money to spare. Why beg people that are basically almost homeless themselves?
The answer, imo, is that the homeless have not much in the way of transportation. The bus costs $ and they could be spending that on food. So they stay near cheap places they can spend the money they pan handle for I assume…
I DON’T think it’s fair they charge more at this location JUST because it’s right near the beach. I don’t get it, they do great business. Why charge more?
Also never seen a security guard on 24 hour post at the door of a McDonald’s wow! Walking around this area is hell. Street crazies and etc… funny since they just remodeled this area. It’s still ghetto though. The area just in front of Santa Monica Pier basically. Sad they can’t do much about the homeless/​drug users/etc…makes you just wanna avoid this area.

Not the happiest McDonald’s I’ve seen in the world, but not the saddest either in terms of interior and employees.

My eyes water as I write this review. Yesterday afternoon (March 31,2016) a homeless man came in and ordered. He was quiet as the workers rudely ignored him to take orders of people clearly standing behind him.
When he finally ordered, he paid with a gift card. Unfortunately, he did not have enough money. Without warning, they gave him his card back telling him he didn’t have enough money. As he searched his pockets for the remaining amount, the manager rudely told him to leave. The customer (homeless man but a customer none the less) told him he was just searching his pockets to see if he had enough. Not a minute later, he was hit with a Tayser gun by the manager and told to leave.
Jaws dropped and many customers were so angry at the way the staff (including the manager) handled the situation that even a teenage customer went up to the manager infront of everybody and yelled «why did you do that?! He wasn’t doing anything wrong why did you do that oh my God!»
The manager answered, «because he didn’t have enough money»
Mothers left with their children in shock, existing customers stood there in shock and people were talking to each other about searching for the corporate number to report the «manager».
I was in shock on the way this situation was handled. The homeless man did nothing wrong, didn’t act aggressive or anything. He looked a little embarrest for not having enough on the card and the manager humiliated him even more by yelling at him to leave as he searched for change for the remaining balance.
PEOPLE EVEN OFFERED TO PAY the remaining balance for him. I even heard a customer saying he went in search for the man after he went off on the manager to offer him some food but he couldn’t find him.
I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN.

The location is perfect but the service absolutely sucks. The employees are very rude and look so miserable.

Updated Décor but floors and bathrooms were dirty. Most of all, homeless reeking with bo/​dirty harassing customers in line and also hanging outside is scaring my kids, won’t be coming back.

First of all, their customer services are terrible and worst. The staffs are not friendly and they look so unhappy to serve their customers. I am so disappointed to have to eat there. It’s located in the heart of world famous Santa Monica Pier and they are supposed to treat their customers nice and give them good impressions. I hope their customer services will be reviewed and improved in the future.

Fast service order is right every time, everyone smiles. Recommend everyone to come to this McDonald in Santa Monica

Take my advice. DO NOT GO HERE! Wait for the one on the Promenade to re-​open. This is the most disorganized fast food place I’ve ever been to. I’ve been here 3 times lately and every time there seems to be no particular ordering lines, just customers standing around and ordering from whichever cashier seemed to be available. This afternoon, the third time, I walked out before I ordered because I couldn’t seem to get to a cashier. The food is standard McDonald’s fare, meaning I like the fish sandwich and fries, but I will never go to this location again. The one on the Promenade was much better organized and you could always find a seat along the walkway. Here, once you do get your food, you have to hunt for a seat, almost spilling your food off the tray because of almost walking into people in the narrow aisles. Ay-​yi-​yi, never again. PLEASE re-​open soon, Promenade location, so I can have my fish sandwich and fries again.

I made the grave mistake of coming to this location at around 11:00 on a Friday night. All hell breaks loose – extremely drunk people, belligerent panhandlers, kids either coming up or down from party drugs; just total chaos. A homeless sex worker kept hopping from table to table trying to get work for the evening, and I was so uncomfortable I called my husband and asked him to come pick me up. Never, ever, ever going again.

Service is horrible the black guy with a lot of tattoos he doesn’t know how to give service why he is working is he looks he doesn’t like this work he doesn’t know how to listen And is disgusting see all those tattoos how the manager accept it. I told him that he was missing two more hamburgers and he charged me three hamburgers so whats wrong with him. I never gonna come back unless they make the service better

Just went here to get the double cheeseburger with small fries for $ 2.50 as advertised on TV. Turns out the don’t have it in their system yet! So they couldn’t offer it! I mean really??? That’s just bad!

One McDonald’s is the same as any other, right? Although this rather new model was built to serve the masses that visit the S.M. Pier and will never hurt for patrons for that reason, it’s one of the least welcoming (or inexpensive) of their restaurants I’ve ever visited. Institutional to a fault.

Great for a McDonald’s. Dude 24 hours. I come here all the time at night and it’s a great spot for some fast food! They are a very busy store obviously, and are very CLEAN when they are not busy, because they do clean. My nuggets are fresh because of the high volume store and aren’t oily surprising! It’s a McDonald’s! Be nice.

This is the first USA McDonald’s I’ve been to and this review is more for British first timers visiting as there’s a few different things to expect! So you order your food and then you wait for your number to be called to collect it and the second thing is milkshakes come with whipped cream and a cherry — nice touch! The size of the burgers are the same size so don’t expect it to be a supersized burger than what we get in the UK! But the plus side here was free wifi!

I love mc flurry. Today is so hot and wanted have ice cream and remembered that one. This mc donals is a big one and has a big patio. Its crowded but they are working fast.

I seriously wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, worst service ever!!!
1. There was only one cook and cook was working with one glove. what the hell is that?
2. Trash is overflowing in their trash bins!
3. It took us 40 min exactly for them to cook our chicken for the salad!
4. cook was wearing sandals and was taking his whole time in the world!
And to finish off the tables were full of drunk people, completely unsanitary…

We went here after the pier since it was the only thing open and my 4 year threw up their burger this morning. I feel like the meat was undercooked or it was cause it was the «pink slime» type of meat. The chunks he threw up were pink! God I hate Mc Donalds now. I knew it was a bad idea to eat here again. I didn’t eat McDonald’s since September of 2013 after finding out the truth about their food and what kind of chemicals and meat they use. What was I thinking to feed my son their burgers after? Well lesson learned.
For the venue I give them 2 stars. They had a security which means bad things happen or it’s ghetto. Homeless people and drugees were just sitting in the booths. They even let one of the homeless guys bring his bike in with all his stuff on the back of it. I mean I’ve been to way scarier and ghetto places in Los Angeles so I guess it wasn’t too bad. Most of the tables are dirty and aren’t cleaned after someone leaves so there are crumbs and particles of food so I had to use a wet one to wipe it down. The cashier was pretty nice she smiled at me when I went to get the food. Most McDonald’s workers give me dirty looks or don’t smile. But I don’t expect that it’s Mcdees not a fancy restaurant lol

One or zero stars for the manager who couldn’t muster the guts to tell this girl that non-​service dogs are prohibited from restaurants.

Came here for the Wi-​Fi plus I was starving.
Clean.
Free Wifi.
High table tops/​chairs.
Has 2 Widescreen TVs (sometimes on).
Fries are not over salted and is always perfect (at this location only).
Only issue is no outlets. Boo!
