Went to east west café recently. Firstly their prices are unreasonable. If this was fine dining then I’d be all for it. But let’s face it, the food is average to subpar at best. But I’m not writing this to complain about the prices. I’m here to inform others that I went there, ordered the veggie tostada. Tasted okay. The next day I had explosive diarrhea all day! Nothing like paying money for diarrhea. The number one cause of this is dirty cooks that don’t wash their hands after they take a dump. Thank you, I won’t be coming back

Have eaten here numerous times and never disappointed. As a vegetarian, it is very easy to find food on the menu. Even meat eaters will find great food to enjoy. Love the overall environment and location of the restaurant. The service is always great and there is rarely a long wait time. Will be going back the second I get back to California.

More than decent Mediterranean food mixed with California/American. Great for kids too. NOTV! That’s a plus for us when going out with our family because our kids just turn into zombies if there is a TV in a restaurant. Staff is so nice and attentive. The serving sizes are huge. I usually get the falafel wrap with fries and I will usually take half home in a box. E/W is also incredibly clean! We are fortunate that it is our neighborhood restaurant.

Yes, vegetarians do go nuts for the East West Café! I had heard good things about the Café from many vegan friends and acquaintances. I finally had the opportunity to visit this past Sunday. It had been raining all day so I didn’t pay any attention to the exterior or the outdoor seating as I ran in. The interior was a large, nondescript space that didn’t have much style. But I did love the big butterfly on their sign! The service was prompt and our server Ashley seated us right next to the fireplace so we could warm up. She was really helpful pointing out choices on their Mediterranean-inspired menu when I mentioned that we were vegan. There were quite a few vegan options and I was hungry, so it took me a few extra minutes to decide what I wanted. She was patient and just kept checking back in with me. I had the Earth Bouquet Stir Fry which included fresh oriental vegetables sautéed in delicious ginger sauce and served with brown rice that was topped with toasted almonds and sesame seeds. I added their braised tofu and the combination was absolutely delicious. It was also an amazing amount of food. I had some more for dinner and had it for lunch the next day! They also have vegan double layered chocolate cake. It is rare for me to pass up a vegan dessert so I took a slice home for my husband and I to share. It is made for them by Whole Foods and was pretty good. I’m really glad I finally had the opportunity to dine here. The food was excellent and the server was friendly. I will definitely be back the next time I visit Santa Rosa!

Just realized I haven’t written a review of this«go to» place. Unique for the area with mediterranen food. My favs have been: Mediterranean Platter A medley of Mediterranean delicacies. Hummus, Baba Ganouj, beet delite, three stuffed grape-leaves, tabbouleh, three falafel patties and pita bread. Falafel Plate Falafel patties served hot with falafel sauce, tabbouleh, hummus, beet delite and organic pita bread. East West Special Two eggs or tofu scrambled with fresh spinach, tomato, kalamata olives, feta cheese and a pinch of zaater spice. Served with a choice of Willie Bird turkey bacon or chicken artichoke sausage, country style potatoes and toast. Without bacon or sausage French Toast Combo Choice of sprouted wheat or sourdough bread, served with real maple syrup, two eggs and choice of Willie Bird turkey bacon or chickenartichoke sausage. They have a glutten free menu, yegan dishes too. And conveniently located to the Summerfield theatre if you are going to a movie. Nice outdoor patio for a lovely day and always good service. Check it out!

This morning was my second visit to the café. My first, for lunch, was solid. Today’s breakfast was disappointing. The service was warm, prompt and happy to accommodate my dining partner’s gluten allergy. My food just wasn’t very good, unfortunately. I had the east west special(scrambled tofu with feta, spinach and kalamata olives) with potatoes, salsa and toast. Everything was a bit bland. The scrambled tofu didn’t seem well thought out: the tofu was extra firm so the texture didn’t work as a scramble and it needed some seasoning. The olives also seemed to be a mix of kalamata and another type of black olive. The potatoes were mushy and had an unpleasantly sweet flavor. The toast was the best part. From reviews it looks like the French toast and pancakes are popular so I would suggest sweet instead of savory for breakfast. Or go for lunch!

Always pleased with menu & service. It’s a regular with us … and we’re picky! They can accommodate small groups. Also love the fireplaces.

Keeping my expectations reeeeeeeeeally low, I found myself @ East West ordering the Mediterranean plate and the French toast with chicken sausage and eggs. The meal was fantastic, the environment is clean and service was fast and friendly.

Super disappointing that this place made me sick! I had a macro plate with tofu, black beans, rice, steamed vegis, hummus, salsa and tahini sauce. I was queasy in my stomach for several hours starting within a half hour of eating there — and this morning(I ate there yesterday) I’ve been having awful GI symptoms–(I won’t be more specific!) I was excited because this place is so beautiful, cut I will never eat there again. I recommend that you don’t either. I know it was this place because I’ve been eating really clean food– I had oatmeal for breakfast and later quinoa and roasted butternut for dinner both that I had prepared. Yuck– I’m sorry I trusted this place!

My in-laws and I went to dinner here tonight. We made a reservation, showed up on time and were seated promptly. It took a while for our server to come to the table to take our drink and food order, and overall pacing was a bit slow, but other than that things were good. I got their grilled chicken pineapple on croissant sandwich, and asked for a little BBQ sauce instead of the mayo. It was missing the BBQ sauce but still was tasty. Fries were all right, nice and thick, but a bit overcooked and overly brown. Overall everyone enjoyed their food, the atmosphere was comfortable and we really appreciated the fact that they had vegan options. I would be happy to dine here again.

I love falafel. EW Café is the only place in town where I can get my falafel fix. The vegan options are excellent and the food never disappoints.

LISTENUPVEGANSANDVEGETARIANS… Looking for a good veg spot in Sonoma County? Then East West is your place to go! This is one of 2 locations here in Sonoma County. The other location is in Sebastopol. East West café has an incredible vegetarian and vegan options(as well as meat options too). My husband loves to order the Burrito. And even though I eat meat too, I still like to order the well known, «Macro Plate». We recently dined with a friend who is Vegan. So, at the end of dinner, we ordered Vegan Chocolate Cake. So tasty that it is hard to believe that it didn’t have any eggs or butter in it. East West Café has a pretty laid back and chill atmosphere. They have a small patio with outdoor dining. They are also across the street from Howarth Park. You can simply go there, have a healthy meal and take a lovely walk around the lake afterwards. All within walking distance!

The spinach salad was a nice blend of fruits, nuts, and veggies. It consisted of spinach, apple slices, strawberries, grapes, pine nuts, avocado, walnuts, dates, onion and feta cheese with your choice of sauce. We chose the basil sauce and it complemented everything well. We also ordered the falafel wrap with fries. The fries were nice and crispy and the falafel wrap was delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves fresh food! Also great for vegetarians!

Very laid back and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Mediterranean Platter which is vegetarian and very good. It comes with three falafel patties, which I normally love, except these were over cooked and dried out. But everything else was great. The hummus and«beet delite» were the stars for sure. I’m not sure if this dish is a very heavy appetizer for two(or three) or a main dish for a fattie or what. Regardless, it’s a solid choice.

Stopped for lunch after a great YogaHike at Sugarloaf. I had the homemade lemonade and the Salmon Wrap with a side salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The service was ok. The star of the show is definitely the food though. Will be back asap to try something else. Great menu!

I’ve been here a few times — it’s wholesome healthy food with a Mediterranean bent. First and foremost — Excellent Coffee — why’s it so hard to have food and good coffee? Nice people, it feels very family like in it’s service — personal and friendly. I had some eggs and chicken apple sausage with home fries — it was delicious. Great atmosphere inside and they have a really pleasant patio out front of the place. Howarth park is across the street so you can watch some Tennis while you eat. Vegan and Gluten free items — not all but they have a ton of choices for those that want to eat that way. it’s always great to see more than one vegan item available. I’m not vegan but the food is great and priced about the same as everywhere else — figure yourself for $ 10-$ 12 for breakfast or lunch.

Yeah, I’m a regular here. The falafel wrap with some sriracha sauce is delicious. Their spinach quesadilla is a must try! It’s kinda like riding a bicycle, you never forget how it tastes… awesome! The turkey burger with fries is a filling honorable mention. No jive turkey, this turkey is juicy, a flavorful piece of meat on a whole wheat bun. Have heard great things about the salmon dinner, so I should break away from my usual staples and try the dish… Creature of habit over here. The staff is always attentive and welcoming, a really down to earth, feel good atmosphere. Prefect for hoovering healthily. Nice comfortable outside seating as well across from Howarth Park.

I was disappointed with my meal at this restaurant. I went for lunch with a friend recently and the food was sub-par. My BLT sandwich barely tasted like anything and they hardly put any condiments on it. The bacon was clearly baked, not fried, but it tasted like jerky and was so hard to chew. The best part of the meal were the delicious sweet potato fries and yummy iced tea. Given their reviews, I’m sure the other menu options are good. I would just recommend they figure out their bacon situation. Any bacon lover would have been seriously disappointed by that sandwich. I’ll give it another try sometime.
