Great China

Oh the humanity! Completely inedible food. I have no idea how anyone could find this swill acceptable. It will take many years (and possibly therapy) to set foot in a Chinese restaurant again. Do yourself and your colon a favor and go elsewhere.

This is my favorite Chinese Food restaurant in Santa Rosa. Their food is great, and even though they seem a little short with you verbally sometimes, they will go above and beyond to make you happy. Best off-​menu item is the Teriyaki Prawns, but they only make it when the kitchen isn’t busy. Delicious!

Never been disappointed with the chicken chowmein and even though I don’t really like seafood I like the shrimp chowmein too. That’s about all I’ve really tried here though. The ladies that handle the front are kinda short (in the way they talk) but are nice. Fairly priced and good sized portions.

I love chow mein and me and my fiancée get take out here quite often and the food is great and the customer service is awesome.

Awful food! The soup tasted burnt, and old. The chicken was horrible. We got sick after eating lunch here, would never eat here again! Don’t eat here it’s terrible food :(As I feel bad about leaving a bad review I don’t want anyone to make the mistake we made and waste your money on horrible Chinese food!

My law office is a short walk from Great China restaurant, an I am now a 15-​year regular customer. The atmosphere makes it a pleasure to come to for lunch or dinner, any day of the week. It is comfortable, congenial, nicely-​appointed with beautiful Chinese art, and with relaxing Chinese music in the background at just the right level (on request). The same family has ran this establishment since way before my time, with the continuity of serving staff that are a real pleasure to deal with. The menu has something for everyone, but what I specially appreciate is their willingness to custom-​cook any item, on the spot. It gets better: Great Chine will special-​order literally any type of food available in San Francisco: oysters, lobster, other shell fish, other regular fish, fish from China, other meats. All they need is a few days notice. Waitress Lucy is the queen of the establishment, and its excellence reflects her management. Behind the scenes, Chef John and his wife run a marvelous kitchen. Were it my business to run, I would charge a lot more than these folks.

Always an amazing experience, I’ve been going here for about 4 years. Always get greeted with a smile! They been having the same waiter since I’ve been there. He has great customer service skills and always remembers what I ordered from previous visits.
The BBQ pork fried rice is my favorite with a side of Hunan chicken!
Craving Chinese food? Come here !!

I can smell and taste the delicious foods that I have gotten from this place right now. The staff is just as fantastic as the food.
The restaurant it’s self is a decent size. I’ve seen it filled two or three times now and even when it’s filled it’s not all too loud. The staff at those times were still quick to get us our food and still friendly, even when it was close to closing time and they had just had a busy day!
The prices are pretty comparable to any other Chinese restaurant.
The parking is amazing. The restaurant is located in the corner of a shopping center with a lot of parking. It’s very nice to not have to think about where I’m going to park.

Always fresh, always wonderful! Best Chinese food in town by far! Love the spring rolls and veggie chow mien.

This was my first time ordering from here and I thought the food was delicious! Their customer service was great and the lady that helped me was named Lucy and she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I will definitely come here again.

Best sizzling rice soup!!! It’s the only thing I have gotten from here but all other Chinese restaurants just don’t have any soup as good as theirs :)

I tried Great China finally since one of my daughters keeps raving about it. I wasn’t disappointed. We ordered the Broccoli Beef & the Sweet & Sour chicken. Both were amazing !! We usually try more but we have been trying a few things from different places, after a few bad orders from some other places. The best Beef & Broccoli we have gotten so far. The Sweet & Sour is my favorite in Santa Rosa so far. I love that it is a battered chicken and not the overly cooked and crunchy kind. The veggies are fresh and crisp, sauce is just perfect !! I will definitely be back to try more menu items. Only disappointment is they don’t serve crab puffs or any type of crab app.

This place is money. Huge portions. Food is super good, not too greasy and full of flavor. And they always have the meal Ready for pick up when I arrive. No delivery though. Ordering on the phone can be tricky.

Been here twice now for take out!!! 1^st experience was great (5 stars), food tasted fresh cooked and was awesome. 2^nd time not so good, it was on busy Sunday nite, right before closing:(((((((food was not fresh tasting like before… I will give it another try in hopes of reclaiming the earlier effort!!! And of course I would love to rate this restaurant higher after my next meal there:)) I will be back

Very disappointing. I would never go here again. This was chosen because it was convenient pickup for a to-​go order, meeting a friend for lunch further on down the road in Kenwood. I should have gotten deli sandwiches instead. My go-​to place in Santa Rosa is up on Piner Road and was too far north to pick up food for a Kenwood lunch date. Read the review of CW B.

I’ve been eating here since I was a teen. My parents used to bring us here once a week. Now I bring my kids here all the time. My daughter has to have her birthday dinner here every year. The food is and has always been fresh and delicious. We’ve tried everything on the menu and never had a bad plate. Lunch specials are great, it’s enough food for me and my hubby to share. I’ve been to other restaurants around town but nothing compares to Great China.

Consistently good food always. Your food is made fast! They say 15 – 20 minutes & they mean it. If you ever peek back in the kitchen, there’s guys working some seriously huge woks.
Recommend the walnut prawns, so yummy with a great, sweet white sauce, walnuts and pineapple. Have to try the broccoli beef as well Unilocalers!
Might want to pick up, décor is dated. I have been coming here for years and keep coming back. There’s this cool old lady who used to ring you up with a calculator… saw they got her an iPad last time I visited.

I am Chinese American. I consider Chinese Food to be a gift from the gods. When a restaurant is consistently bland, bad or just plain mediocre, I feel offended. I have come here rarely. The food was bland and I came back to see if there was hope for improvement. There has been none.
I try all Chinese restaurants with Won Ton Soup and Chicken Chow mein. If they make it poorly, the main stays of Chinese American food, then don’t bother with the rest. It was tasteless and bad. I worry that non Asians will think this is real Chinese food.
The service was indifferent and the condition of the restaurant shows neglect. Please, this place needs new management.

They did not even acknowledge us when we walked into the door. Once they answered the phone and gave out two orders to go, we were seated.
The décor is nothing to write home about.
Their Kung Pao Chicken does not have peanuts (the horror!)
The only redeeming thing about the visit was the Mu Shu vegetables but with enough plum sauce it is hard to foul those up. Oh, and there is plenty of parking.
My first visit in years and my last for some time to come.

Very tasty, authentic Mandarine & Szechuan Cuisine. Friendly staff, food comes out hot and you dont have to wait a long time for your food after you order. Cant wait to try other things from the menu!
