If it were not for the two-hour voyage I made to Santa Rosa specifically to visit Russian River Brewing plus the wait time to be seen, I don’t think I would’ve found myself at this Peet’s location. However, as far as chain coffee spots go especially in competition with the coffee scene in this locale, I must say I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. First off, I really like the vibe and atmosphere of the coffee shop. Came by around 430PM and there were a good amount of people with their laptops studying, working, reading, on a coffee date or what have you & you felt good about where you were at. The overall space looked well-kept and decorated appropriately and just enough to be warm and inviting. Also there are tables outside for seasons when it’s less cold and El Niño isn’t feeling some sort of way. aka not this season… haha So based on my interactions with the employees, I really feel that they know how to GENUINELY deal with their customers! Definite plus. Also when they took my group’s orders they did so with ease and even when a mini line started to form another barista took my order so my drink could begin to get prepped and I paid shortly after which was awesome because hollahhhhh shorter wait time! And okay, final note but admittingly its been a while since I’ve been in a chain coffee shop that wasn’t just a little kiosk so I was super surprised my when my Mocha came out with latte art. My inner basic was super delighted. Not gonna lie. IG worthy and everything. Also brownie points for no burnt coffee taste! My friends and I also ordered pastries. They got snickerdoodle and ginger snap cookies while I opted for a chocolate chip scone. My scone, while still yummy, fell flat in comparison to the flavors I tasted with the cookies. Also the scone was a lot smaller than the cookies just an FYI. Those ginger snaps sure do pack a punch of flavor! :)

I have always been concerned about the way they serve their coffee with using dirty hands. They will take your money and reach for the cup from atop. If they put the lid on it is with dirty hands. I asked for soy and the carton was warm and I had asked if they had anything refrigerated, they said no, and I asked if the almond milk was cold. The young woman behind the counter appeared be agitated with me for asking. I thanked her and she just turned around. My next concern was the young man behind the counter who was sweeping the floor when the broom slipped from his grasp falling on the floor. When a costumer came to the counter to order he leaned the broom against the pastry display. I sat for 30 minutes and in that time he never washed his hands for customer service.

It’s called customer service. Twice while working in the area I stopped in for a cup of joe and twice I was left standing at the counter with not so much as a hello. I imagine regulars don’t get this treatment but it made me wonder what other coffee shops were around. The café itself looked like a fun place to sit and be though. I’ll try once more next time I’m in the area but I’m hesitant. Called me old fashioned but I like to be acknowledged when I’m about to spend my money. A simple, «be right with you», isn’t so much to ask.

It’s Peets, how can you go wrong? Fast service, über friendly, everything is awesome! I got their matcha latte with soy milk, and I’ve asked for less sweet, and they were able to do it, so super happy!

Why is your coffee so bitter? I like to drink black coffee. I like it when it’s freshly made. Pete’s always tastes like it’s been boiling for 10 hours on a burner… this may just be that the beans are nasty when drank straight and not mixed into 800 calories of sugar and caramel syrup and topped with whipped cream and milk. The stars are for the staff, they are always kind when I do set foot in here, as I will drink crappy coffee over the Corporate S across the street whenever possible.

The coffee at Peet’s is better than the Starbucks across the street and the staff by in large are quite pleasant. Over the last few years of patronizing this location I’d become one of the regulars. Every day I would wander over with a colleague or two and grab a coffee; often on the weekend I would come in with my wife and two kids to grab something before setting off to some adventure. I didn’t mind so much the dirty floors and walls. The constant under scheduling of staff — no big deal. Forgot to order lids/cups/napkins/etc this week — no worries. Heck, I overlooked their recent shut down due to a fly infestation that had lingered unabated until the health department inspected. I’m not saying I called… However, the way a very good friend of mine was spoken to as we strolled in today was over the top outlandish. I will not countenance that kind of behavior and so you’ve lost a customer. Grubby little Peet’s… you went one step too far.

The Black Tie cold brew is the most delicious coffee in all of the land! Watch out for the endless supply of homeless who hang out all day in front of this location.

I love this place never really had a mistake(happened last week though) came in for iced mocha(wasn’t busy) no long line the girl asked I wanted whip cream I said«yes» not sure if she didn’t hear but I didn’t want to go back up and ask for whip. Plain, simple mistake. But over all lovely place! interesting people outside to observe!

I love Peets. Their coffee is really good and strong, I just get iced coffee, nothing fancy. The wait is sometimes a little crazy, but that’s pretty normal for downtown Santa Rosa. I love the outside seating, to just drink coffee and people watch.

Great consistent Coffee! I wish they would do something about the characters that hang out all day and evening outside. But, once you’re inside the staff is great and always remembers your order. Pamela is always there to greet me with a smile. Nice business.

I walk by Peet’s everyday, and this shop has multiple umbrellas on the sidewalk that are too low and require me to duck under each one to walk by. I requested they raise them since they’re encroaching on public walkways. The corporate customer service rep said the shop’s management team would get back to me within three business days, but that was a month ago and there was no change.

I needed something different this morning and my check-in got me a dollar off a holiday drink. I chose eggnog latte, and it is great! Most importantly, it is not too sweet. The Peet’s coffee comes through as well. A well rounded coffee drink without a sugar coma!

This is becoming my new coffee spot. Cinnamon roll and an almond milk latte(yes they have almond milk). Also, they have a genuinely kind staff. I have not encountered a single sour puss and I have been helped by completely different people.

This place is an ice box. They never turn up the heat. 6:45AM and the air conditioner is actually cooling the place. It’s a joke, everyone in here even the employees have sweaters and jackets on. The manager person said the system does not heat properly…

While in town I decided to stop by this Peet’s. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere. My first visit was last week and I bought two cookies. Delicious! Staff person encouraged me to participate in the survey on Peet’s web site to get a $ 1.00 off coupon on my next purchase. I did, that was easy! And the following week, which I stopped in again yesterday, I ordered the iced Chai Latte. Oh that was yummy, very satisfying and not too sweet. When I am in Santa Rosa again, I will have to stop at Peet’s and get the pumpkin bread, it looked so good in the display case. I noticed that while that location has plenty of tables, chairs, when it gets busy, the shop can get crowded. So be patient, staff will attend to you as quickly as possible. I happened to notice that Peet’s is now serving ready-made salads and little sandwiches. I will have to try one some time.
