I thought the soft-serve was typical carnie quality. Also had a very strange interaction with the cashier who did not like the idea of giving me a cone flipped upside down in a cup so I could drive with it. I wouldn’t make a special trip here, but since old school soft-serve is frustratingly sparse in Seattle, if you’re in the market and have a hankering, take advantage of your proximity to Danny’s.

A hefty portion of chocolate and vanilla swirl soft serve in a cup for only $ 2.50? Yum! Count me in! My brother and I tried Wonder Freeze as a last ditch chance for frozen deliciousness after two different gelato places we went to were closed for the day. We wandered upon Wonder Freeze and decided that soft serve would be the way to go — and we were right! There was no line, the woman working there was friendly, and we got our ice cream quickly. And you can’t beat the price! I’m sure I’ll be back here.

Seattle staple inside the Pike Place Market. If you want s hand dip corn dog you have to have one. Every time I’m near the Market I’m pulled by an irresistible force to have a corn dog. Dip it in muster while it’s hot you just can’t beat it.

So this past wknd we searched the city for a hand dipped corn dog. Started to wonder if they even existed. Well low and behold, the hand dipped corn dog brought us down to the market. Danny’s Wonder Freeze, is a little window shop next to the magazine stands at Pike Place. The have kosher dogs, hot mamas, regular hot dogs, and a couple other choices then hand dipped and fried. Oh it was glorious just like the state fair. Not sure what else to say? If you want a place to get a hand dipped corn dog, Danny’s is your place. Enjoy!

In preparation for winter, I am adding an extra layer of blubber to my… Who the fuck am I kidding? My fat ass loves the ice cream, okay? Don’t judge me.

Mmmm, theeza dawgs go SNAP! I love a hot dog with a(pseudo?) natural casing. Yum. I kinda miss the crotchety weird guy. Of course, I fixate on anything from back in the day and hate change. Danny’s is still the coolness, tho and right next door there’s hot salty nuts. Right beyond that: pizza. What could be bad about that?

Screw frozen yogurt(see my review of Red Mango). Wonder Freeze sells a huge portion of soft serve in a waffle cone for THREEBUCKS! Add to that the hand-dipped corndogs & east coast hotdogs, and Wonder Freeze gets an A++

Despite its name, the main thing Danny deals out of his kiosk in Pike Place Market(down the hall from the newsstand) is hot dogs — all kinds. Two unique things about Wonder Freeze: 1. They have red onion sauce! Up until I found this place, I assumed that no one on the west coast had ever heard of red onion sauce.(Every hot dog vendor in NYC seems to carry it.) But Danny’s got it, and I think it makes the dog. 2. Tofu corn dogs. I know. You’re saying, why bother? But if you’re one who abstains from the flesh, this may be the only place you can go to experience the sheer joy of a meal that’s served on a stick. My only complaint about the corn dog is that it’s not done southern style, where instead of a corn base they coat the wiener in sweet donut batter before dunking it in the fryer. A hot dog encased in a donut shell: If that isn’t heaven, count me out.(There is a donut vendor right across the corridor from him — maybe you can do some finagling…)
