The food was good and service was good but my boyfriend and I spent 75 bucks here just to have the shits an hour later. Probably not a common thing that happens but still, no fun!!! Unilocal is telling me «your review is currently shorter than most — keep it up» but I have to run back to the lavatory sooooooo…

Bang and Mash! The place is «cool» for a Friday night with Co workers. Staff, attentive. Drinks run of the mill for an Irish Pub. Food, no complaints. The only negative for me… the carpet was damp, musty and smelled of years gone by. Would I come here again, sure if the area… I would rather find myself at McMinamins

This place was a little crazy on a Saturday night! I think everyone went here before or after a show nearby. We put our names in at the front and let the host know we’d be at the bar. Two drinks later, we started to wonder… did we miss our name? We went back to the host, and sure enough, we had drank right through our calling. But that was okay, he found us a table right away by the warm and cozy fireplace. I had the beef and Guinness pot pie(thanks, Unilocalers, your photos sold me!) and it was deee-licious. Like, the kind of delicious where I’m still thinking about it more than a week later. I’ll be back for more of that pot pie!

What you’re getting at T.S. McHughs is your standard, run-of-the-mill Irish Pub. And that’s not a bad thing! I’m here pretty regularly on Sunday mornings for football, so I’m quite familiar with the breakfast menu. It’s…not great. It’s not terrible either, but it’s breakfast food at a sports bar. My go to has become the Huevos Rancheros, which are spicy as hell. I’m less familiar with the rest of the menu, but I had the Irish reuben the other night and it wasn’t bad. Fries are pretty good. I feel like this review is lacking full thoughts. I’m okay with that. The beer list here is pretty solid, and they don’t carry Vitamin R or Pabst. Which is both kind of great and terrible? Quite a few scotches available. Or whiskeys? Brown liquor isn’t my go-to at 10 a.m. They’ll have all the NFL games on, I believe, and the place doesn’t get overly packed with Hawks fans. If you’re an out-of-towner and need a haven to watch your team play, I’ve found your spot.

This place is awful. We stopped by here Sunday 12/6, at about 3PM. When we walked in the bar it was pretty empty and no one was at the host stand. The three of us walked in after a few moments because no one was around and grabbed a booth. The bartender cut us off and said«can I help you?», like we had just committed a crime for sitting down in the empty bar. He proclaimed«this isn’t seat yourself» and slapped the menus down on the table and stomped away. So we stood up and walked out. Weird. Anger issues? I’ve worked as a waiter and busser in a few restaurants in my life and don’t expect to be babied at restaurants, but some basic decency and common sense is not too much to ask. Definitely won’t be back. If I owned this place I would fire this guy on the spot. He is hurting your business.

My friend and I came here for a private pregame party before going to KeyArena. The place is spacious, and there are plenty of beers on tap for whatever ails you. But that’s the only good part about this place. My friend ordered the nachos, and paid extra for guacamole, which is not housemade guac, but is similar to the guac you find in the refrigerated aisle at the grocer. And you can’t add meat to your nachos. So the nachos were meh — a bunch of melted cheddar cheese on tortilla chips with a side of premade guac and salsa and a dollop of sour cream. I ordered the chicken filets, which sounded like it would be chicken strips. When my plate came there were literally four filets of chicken that were the size of chicken wings. I had to question if filets were chicken wings, or if I accidentally ordered four wings instead. When I bit into one of the filets, it was so rubber-y and hard that I thought I bit into the bone, thinking that it was indeed wings. When I looked at it more closely and dissected it, I realized that THECHICKENWASRAW! It was so underdone that it didn’t even have an edible texture!!! I was so grossed out, and had to tell the server that it was inedible; but that was another issue. There was only one server for our entire private party, so he was very, very busy with all these others orders, that my friend and I had to keep waving him down. When we finally got his attention, he apologized about the chicken and I asked for just fries instead, so that I would at least have something with my beers. The shoestring fries took awhile to get, but it was a lot of fries in a basket. As I expected and hoped, the server did not charge us for the chicken, and fortunately, for the fries either, which was nice. Our server was nice for how busy he was and how gross the food was; but as my friend and I were the last to leave from our party, since we were finishing up, another server came by to help clear tables, and he says to our server, «Oh, this looks like fun. Ugh.» You’d think that they’d wait for all of us to leave to start making negative remarks? Yeah… I would never come here again.

Irish Bar, that means good beer and your typical bar food. I opted for the fish and chips and I gotta say they were the best damn fried fish I’ve had in quite awhile. Super crunchy, great flavor, and the only thing I wish they were was a bit larger fillets. You can opt for the regular or small but the difference is just one less fillet. The fries… well they weren’t as amazing as the fish but they were acceptable. Great selection of beers and everything was well priced. Not too shabby of a place to stop by for a drink and food before a game/concert.

Every year I give it another try. Short pours and the stink of puke and bleach make it a must pass. How you can short pour at these rates and give mini pint glasses of beer is beyond me. They must count on tourist traffic as this brand takes a deeper and deeper nose dive.

If you are in the area checking Unilocal before taking a chance on a new pub, congratulations — you found my Unilocal! No worries — I’ll walk you through what to expect here. This is a charming old pub in downtown Seattle. Close to Seattle Center and Key Arena events it’s a nice spot to grab a bite or a drink. It’s not so close that it’s totally packed but not too far of a walk. Menu is decent and won’t pick your pocket. First off — this place is showing it’s age and could stand for a little updating. It’s the kind of place where they don’t bother to patch and paint where the old pay phone used to hang on the wall. However, if you read my reviews you know I’m all about the atmosphere and the food, all of which are very good here. They have a great selection of beers on tap, they always seem to be busy with a great crowed having fun, the breadbasket is killer, and the menu selection is better than average. So give it a shot and feel free to drop a note to me on Unilocal as to whether or not my review was helpful :)

This was where we had our first meal upon arriving at Seattle. They mimic the Irish bar scene complete with wooden paneling and all. Service was great here and the Guinness pot pie was outstanding. The mashed potatoes tasted a bit weird to me but the pot pie was truly the star dish for me. One of my friends commented that he absolutely loved his clam chowder. Prices are really reasonable too. The only thing I’ll critique is that the place feels like it needs a good scrubbing. Our tables were sticky and the air had a scent as if someone had mopped the floor with dirty water.

Josh was our server and was a delight! The salads were huge and a good meal size and the burger was okay. If I’d have been into deep fried food I think the fish n chips would have been my choice. The table next to us had them and it smelled awesome! Great beer selection too! We came in before the opera and josh got our night off to a great start. He was friendly and personable.

Came in looking to get some food away from the crazy Pride traffic near the Seattle center. It was clear other parade goers had the same idea, as the place was starting to get really busy. Our server Brian came in the door as we did and immediately got to work clearing tables and seating guests. He was quick, friendly, and a joy to interact with after a long day of festivities. Brian promptly took care of all of our needs and the many other needs of the guests around us in great time. As if the service was not enough to warrant this 5 star, the food was absolutely amazing. The best Ploughman’s lunch I’ve ever had. The spicy garden burger was also cooked to perfection. We will be making this pub a regular stop when we are in town.

This little local pub is really great! I have been in here several times since my first accidental visit. I like the décor with the polished woods and sort of old pub charm. The staff are really great and friendly. They also know how to gracefully handle rowdy drunk individuals, which was great this last weekend with St. Patrick’s coming up. They have a nice selection of beers on tap including a lovely cider. Lunch and dinner ate served with Irish soda bread and butter at no cost! They also have pot pies that are generously portioned and really nice. The crust is a wee soggy toward the center the couple things I’ve had one, but I doubt mind so much. Lunch is a great value, but the dinner menu does seem a little spendy. Overall TS McHughs is a great neighborhood pub with good décor, food, and beer. I recommend giving them a try.

I came here for a science café event on a Wednesday night. The bar itself was pretty empty except for the corner where the event was going on(usually not a great sign). I ordered one of their«famed» Guinness pot pie. I started on the outside and it was pretty good until I got a little further in and discovered the pastry crust was still very doughy and not cooked all the way. When I asked and showed the waitress she seemed a little put off that I asked her if it could be cooked a little longer. She begrudgingly took it back and when I received it again it still was(a little less albeit) doughy in the center. She never came by our table again except to bring our bill at the table. I probably won’t be coming back here and if I do, it won’t be to order food. I’d rather eat before I come than eat raw pastry dough.

AVOID. We decided to hit this place before we went grocery shopping at the nearby supermarket, to give a local place our cash instead of the grocery for dinner.(The grocery has some good hot food and a nice place to sit and eat it, which we do sometimes.) We were sat and noticed the place was, as others say, pretty empty. For a restaurant with this location, that’s sign number 1 that they suck: no customers. We sat down and I ordered some sides as a main dish b/c I wasn’t very hungry, husband ordered a bean burger with fries. The waiter, whose head melds into his neck, brought our food, completely messing up my order — brought enough side dishes for 6 people, then, when I re-explained what I had ordered, he TOOKITPERSONALLY that I didn’t like the GIGANTIC amounts of soon-to-be-wasted food he had delivered. Seriously, he brought me enough food for 6 people, it was weird. I tried to explain to him what I had wanted, and asked for a plate to make my own plate from it, but he wouldn’t listen, just walked away. The biggest problem was how he took it PERSONALLY. He’s a waiter. I suggested the kitchen sorta messed up and he was nothing but rude. He then left our table and never returned for the rest of the meal. And I mean NEVER. Never checked on my husband to see if his food was even correct, never got us drink refills, never apologized or brought the plate I asked for, etc. I flagged down another waiter and he turned out to be the manager(or so he said). I started to explain that I wanted him to be my waiter since our waiter was holding a grudge, and he seemed interested to hear the story, but wanted to set down the plates he was holding, indicating that he would be right back to talk to me. This felt good. A manager was interested. So he came back to our table and said, «what else do you want then?» «Huh?» I exclaimed, confused. «What else can I get you then?» He asked. «I thought you wanted to hear what happened with the waiter.» I implored, trying to share my story so he could ‘make it right.’ «Not really. Do you want more food?» He dismissed me outright. Okay then. Sooo, not only did this place have terrible service and the food was not even worth noting, but the manager doesn’t give a shit either. AVOID. If I owned this place, I’d clean house and hire ALLNEWSTAFF.

Came in on Saturday at 11:30 hoping for breakfast. Note: only have brunch on Sundays! Service was super slow even though there were maybe 3 or 4 tables occupied. We spend 1.5 hours here for a «quick» lunch. Food was not great. The soda bread tasted like Styrofoam. What was funny is the waiter said«they’re cutting up fresh soda bread» and it came out tasting days old. I had the burger, which was fine. My husband ordered the ham & cheese and a bowl of soup. They messed up his order and gave him just the half sandwich and a cup of soup. He didn’t seem impressed with it. Our mom got the wilted salad — not impressed. We were all pretty disappointed with the food and the service.

This place is almost always empty whenever I go. The only time it was ever busy was once when they hosted an event there. Not super impressed with the food, it’s just so-so. Although the desserts are another thing… sooooo yummy! Maybe just come for the dessert and skip dinner? One of these days I will try one of their pot pies as that seems to be the things that people rave about in their reviews. Also, service can sometimes be slow even though their don’t seem to be many patrons in the restaurant, so don’t come if you’re in a rush.
