Always on point. Delicious. Probably my most sinful craving. Can’t get enough of this place wish they were open year round!

This is the only place that can really satisfy my froyo obsession. Custard Spot offers everything for the ice cream store trip. 24 flavors of ice cream, froyo or frozen custard, slushes, flurries, premium Mackinaw Island ice cream, and a plethora of toppings. During the summer evenings they are pretty busy so expect to wait in line. But any wait is worth the light sweet taste of their froyo! I prefer to order a different flavor froyo each time, sometimes with toasted coconut topping. There is plenty of room to hang around with your friends/family and chow down on your frozen treat. Lot of standing room and several benches and tables behind the store. Each week they have a new flavor of the week, which is custard only. They also have featured items, like«authentic» Mexican fried ice cream(that’s what their sign says!) & they’ll mix their flavor of the week into a flurry or fun parfait concoction. Servers are always friendly. But beware — they take cash only so leave your cards & checks at home!

What would I do for a Klondike bar? Nothing. But I’d punch a baby in the face for some Custard Spot!

Cash only? Really? At least I saw the sign before I ordered. I have no idea if this place is as great as everyone says because I haven’t regularly had cash on me in 15+ years. I must be in the minority because it’s always busy when I drive by.

I’ve been here multiple times. I love to get the banana custard cone. It hits the spot every time.

I love ice cream, so much in fact that I gladly skip real meals in favor of sweet, frozen goodness. This was my first time at the Custard Spot and I was not disappointed. The building has that, old timey ice cream shack you only find at the beach feel. Which automatically put my taste buds in a good mood for their future prize. The menu is a little overwhelming, the choices even have choices. The jest is, you can get ice cream, custard or frozen yogurt. You get anything added, such as chocolate chips, sprinkles etc. You also choose if you would like a regular cone or some of their more extravagant offerings that involve waffle cones dipped in chocolate with nuts or sprinkles. Anything you want they have. On the suggestion of the cashier I went with a regular cone of German chocolate custard. After settling at a table around back(which is a lovely, well tended area) I was surprised how flavorful my custard was. It was smooth and just enough to satisfy my taste buds demands. I see no reason to give the Custard Spot anything but five stars!

Whenever I’m back in Michigan I usually wait in long lines for Ermas, however on this most recent trip I frequented the Custard Spot and was shocked. So many options! And their flavored never get too soft like their competitions does. I had the peanut butter cup cone. Basically it was a flurry but in a soft serve come! What??? Consider my mind officially blown! Almost considered extending my trip just so I could make a few more custard stops!

Incredibly delicious. A vast plethora of flavor choices. Tons of toppings. Everything in either ice cream, yogurt, or custard… And that’s the only reason I’m knocking off a star. How do they do that? What am I putting in my body?

Custard spot has great custard and choices! You can get any flavor you want and not be limited to weekly flavors. It seems they have more choices on their menu vs. Erma’s Frozen Custard. A plus as well is that they offer a dog friendly ice cream treat! I always do the birthday cake ice cream custard and they mix sprinkles in the batter. This way you don’t have your sprinkles falling off your cone the whole time. It is refreshing and delish! Complaint wise is that it is a bit pricey, so I usually only go once a month to once every couple months as a treat. Also it is a bummer that the location is right on a busy street. Standing in line is somewhat close to the road and constantly hear and see cars zipping by. The area designated for sitting/eating in the back of the place is nice and decorated nicely. Another issue is that they have two windows to order, but whenever I go there it seems only one window is open. Even when there is a long line they do not seem to open the other window.

I have been going to the custard spot for over twelve years now. Although things have changed, since the new owners took over a few years ago(higher prices), the quality still remains outstanding. The parfaits are awesome, I’ve tried most of them. Dairy queen down the road is such a let down by comparison. I can’t imagine a summer without many stops at the Custard Spot!

Went to custard spot the other day to try their pumpkin custard. I got a medium cone. Unfortunately it was not as good as I was expecting. It had slight hint of pumpkins but clearly lacked the traditional spices that one would expect. The rest of their menu looked pretty good. I’ll probably go back for something different. For pumpkin custard, I think I’ll stick with Erma’s.

Yummy custard on a warm Michigan night. So many flavor options, it takes awhile to make a decision. Definitely would come back over DQ, which is down the street and the Iine was around the building. Oh well, they can sit in line. We had quality custard with less of a wait.

I have always been such a huge fan of this place! They have an enormous menu of flavors and a little something for everyone. Their summer flavor this year is COCONUT, which I’m in love with! And usually for fall they have pumkin and apple pie flavors… mmm yumm!

Frozen custard is one of my favorite summer treats. Luscious, creamy, and sweet, it is like soft ice cream on steroids. Custard Spot has very good custard and their custard is also customizable. They boast 24 flavors on the side of the building. That’s not to say they have 24 different custard flavors on hand, rather they’ll squirt flavoring into your vanilla(and maybe chocolate — I haven’t asked) custard. I’m a sucker for mint flavored anything, so the crème de menthe flavored custard is easily one of my favorite things. You can even have them roll the custard in crushed oreo cookies for an added layer of deliciousness. More recently I had a waffle cone(which they claim is homemade) filled with peanut flavored custard that had Reese’s peanut butter cup pieces mixed in. Oh man! This was wonderful. Slightly salty, very sweet, and just enough chocolate — perfect flavor combo. Added bonus, they hand you the cone in a little plastic cone carrier — no melted ice cream mess! The service has always been friendly, but I’ve always gone at off hours. Regardless, check it out. Where else can you get 24 flavors of creamy frozen custard goodness?
