Holmes Custom Picture Framing

I love everything George has produced for me… everything from a framed kiln rug to small aborigine art work. He has excellent design ideas yet does not over power you with his concepts. I wouldn’t think of using anyone else if you want something that does not look mass produced.

We’ve been having George do basic black framing on movie and TV posters for us for a few years now, but recently had him do a couple of bigger projects on some art for our home.
George has a great eye and makes excellent recommendations on color and style that work well with the art, but I think his greatest asset is his ability to listen to the customer and let their personal tastes dictate his recommendations. One of the pieces we were able to settle on quickly, but the other took us a good LOOONG while in his shop going back and forth between many different matte/​frame combinations. George was very patient and very helpful through the process.
After we left and he began bringing in the materials, the frame that we had taken so long to decide on was not available in the length needed from the original distributer. Instead of informing us it was unavailable and asking us to choose another he spent the time to track down pieces from several different places in the country till he had enough for the frame!
The art looks great on our walls and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Go see George for your framing needs!

I had the best experience with Mr. Holmes. He repaired a very sentimental framed sketch I have had for 30 years. He replaced the broken glass, replaced the hanging wire, told us how to hang it to prevent it from happening again and was very fair in his prices. I just had George do some framing for me and cannot be happier with the results! He is a real pro and an all-​around nice guy as well. I had a couple of rare World War II factory posters and he spent a good deal of time with me offering suggestions and they came out absolutely beautiful. He really has a great eye for detail, and I plan to be back with some other projects.

George Holmes has an excellent eye, and his framing work is beautiful. I first found him years ago when I inherited some oil paintings from my aunt which had been stored in a leaky, rusty shed. He rescued and restored the paintings to their original beauty and helped me select the perfect frames. I have been using his services ever since. He most recently framed a large pastel landscape I had done. I don’t like to spray my pastel paintings with fixative because it darkens them and dulls the colors. George created a double mat with another mat hidden inside to collect any dust or flaking from the painting. I am so happy with the beautiful frame and mat. When I discussed how to frame a pastel painting with the framers at Michaels and Aaron Brothers, they told me I had to spray my paintings. George is a wizard!

George does beautiful framing work! It is such a big difference between getting something here and getting a stock frame elsewhere. It is definitely more expensive than saying going to Aaron Bros but the quality in the frame, glass and just overall appearance is solo much better with George! People comment on the stuff that is framed in our house by him saying how nice it looks.

I came here some years ago to get a poster framed that I had purchased on our cruise. George was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He took the time to help me pick out a frame that went well with the poster, but also one that I liked. He had such a large selection of frames that we went through several different ones before I found just the right one.
Once I picked out the frame we moved on to the backing, and then whether I wanted glass or plastic in front.
Overall it was a very pleasurable experience, and years later my poster still looks great!

George Holmes is an artist… no wait… a picture framing GENIUS! Yeah, that’s better! Every project I’ve entrusted to George’s capable hands has turned out amazing! You have to pay for quality work, so don’t expect cheap. He’s the best at what he does & I will never go anywhere else! I love every piece of framed artwork he’s done!!!

Every time I look at one of the pieces, it brings a smile to my face. He has done maybe 20 pieces for me. What a nice guy. very easy to talk to. highly recommend him.

George was really helpful in helping decide on all the frame materials. Also, there are some really cool examples of work he’s done hanging in the shop. We had two Egyptian papyrus pieces framed and were very happy with the results and the price. We’ve also had posters and other pictures framed here and we plan to keep coming back.
