As of late, I can only speak on their desserts. Banana pudding, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie! Delicious, delicious, delicious! Wait times can vary. Expect a longer wait around dinner time, but that’s to be expected.

Not a fan* I ordered the catfish which was ok but nothing to make Me dream about along with the«Mushy Mac» that My cub didn’t even want to taste by the look of it and I don’t blame Him! I’m sure They weren’t prepared properly and other photos of Their mac doesn’t look the same as what I want served today. The collards were just ok as. No seasoning but was at least cooked tender. Best thing on My plate was probably the cornbread muffin* I’ll past Go and stop in My own kitchen for this* Not impressed… Although I would like to give Them another try on just the rib tips bc I’m a sucker for juicy, tender ribs that are super saucy… May be trying that at the other location. Only fair

Finally able to finish my review from a couple days ago… Picked up dinner… Of course there was a cash only sign that was posted on the door that limited my spending because i don’t normally carry cash like that but moving on… the food was dried out on the line. And i mean crusty to the container because there was no moisture left. Ordered the rib tips only(for that reason). Now this is a take out order and they were served in a very small paper basket for the $ 10 price tag that they put on them. This is unacceptable. On top of that they were disgusting. The sauce was thin and nasty(And i do mean NASTY!!!) Definitely should not be classified in any soul food category… it would be an insult.

I went to college in Atlanta in 94 and I would drive for 30 minutes to get to «this is it» on Memorial Dr. I traveled through Atlanta 21 years later and HAD to stop. I walked in bragging and showin out about how awesome this soul food is to my family(who has never had soul food at all). We waited and waited for So long that we were all convinced we had been forgotten. The service sucked bad enough that the food had to come to the rescue, or so I thought. Dry Chicken, Watery Mac and Cheese. I didn’t touch anything else. I will check this place off as a college memory just to keep it good. What a let down.

Sigh… this used to be my go to spot for quality soul food. I hadn’t been in a couple of months and decided to visit the smyrna location. The fish was under seasoned, the mac and cheese had no flavor, and the dressing was disappointing. They have great service as always, but it seems they fact changed recipes or cooks. Maybe I’ll try another location, but this one is not it.

The wait time for my order was very long. Sad to say but the food was not that great for the wait and the food was a little over priced.

Absolutely DISGUSTING! The Mac and cheese was watery tasted like paper, no flavor whatsoever. The fried chicken was just OK… I have never been to a soul food establishment and not had decent fried chicken. The collards were gross. My mom orders BBQ chopped chicken… it was so horrible(Especially the sauce) that she had to take it back and order something else. Even the replacement item was still unsatisfying. I have tried This is It on Memorial Dr in Decatur in the past and I was unsatisfied then. I thought maybe this location would be different. I would not recommend them even if u were about to die of starvation. A disgrace to southern soul food.

Okay I have tried several BBQ places here in Smyrna and This Is It is appropriately named! Real BBQ sauce!!! And not some concoction of vinegar and tomato sauce. Kudos to you gentlemen! Absolutely THEBEST barbecued baked beans that I have had here in the Atlanta area!!! The sweet potato soufflé was amazing! And actual smoked and barbecued chicken! Very flavorful and moist. My sticking points were that they could use some more help. My order took somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 minutes to fill. I paid additional to get all white meat and I still got a ¼ dark meat… And finally they were probably about 50% more expensive than their competitors. All of these demerits and I am still comfortable with giving them 4 stars because they are the real deal.

After church service on September 6, 2015, my wife and I decided to dine at THISISITSMYRNA. We are fairly new to the metro Atlanta area and had seen the THISISIT commercials on TV. We traveled approximately 35 miles to specifically have a good family southern/soul-food meal. Our total meal cost equated to $ 42.02, we immediately noticed that the pricing was higher than what we have typically paid for family southern/soul-food meals for two people. We also noticed that the food visually looked horrible.(It looked pre-cooked as well as over-cooked.) After asking the Cashier about the pricing, he did not provide any first time customer satisfying experience. We decided to wait until the order was prepared, in which, the food is already prepared, but just needed to be placed onto plates/containers. While waiting … We googled the THISISITSMYRNA website and it mentioned that there were meal deals for two at $ 25.00 total. At that point in time, which it was 15 minutes later, we asked the Cashier to cancel the order and provide us with a refund. This was a very poor customer experience, and we both do not plan to return.

It’s been years last time I visited this location. Very disappointed in the time it takes to get your food. And for the money everything should be perfect. Taste of the 3″ high whiting sandwich was OK just piled to high to eat without it falling apart. You can’t have a good meal without dessert. I tried the key line cake that I was told was FRESH. Well it crumbled once my fork touched it and the icing fell off. Moisture no where to be found. So I called the cashier over because I didn’t wanna say anything in front of the customers and he got with the Mgr and it was exchanged for the worst banana pudding I ever had. Lesson learned.

This place was expensive the food wasn’t fresh. I would compare the quality to mc Donald’s mc rib with the cost famous daves. The staff wasn’t friendly the place was dirty. The get an f for quality, atmosphere and price. Your better off getting bbq from a street truck.

This was my first time trying This is it. I was excited because I heard good reviews however you always have to see for yourself. The food looked good but once I tasted it it had no flavor. I heard the Camp Creek location is way better, but from this one visit at this location it would be awhile before I waste $ 15 on a meal. The best thing was my xlarge peach drink. That was worth my $ 2.59. And their score is a 89. Thy need to do some renovations or something. They don’t even look like they get business a lot.

This was my first time eating here, although the wait for the food was long… it was well worth it to me. The sweet potato casserole had to be the BEST, just like candy. I’ll be going back!

I’ve been to this location a few times and while the food is usually mediocre to average… This last visit was absolutely terrible. Rarely am I compelled to write a review but the experience we had last night was so disappointing I had to. The crown jewel of this location had been the sweet potato soufflé… Well I can’t say that anymore as what I had last night was bland, barely sweet and(somehow) extremely oily. The mac and cheese was not seasoned and had a strange aftertaste and the corn muffin was over cooked /borderline burnt. Meatloaf is usually the Wednesday special but since they didn’t have that, I got the catfish which was really the only edible part of my meal. I would give them only 1 star however the service was friendly which we appreciated. So they get an extra star for service. Sadly, it looks like this may be my last visit to this location because of the decline of the food. And it’s too bad because I live so close to the place and I love my soul food. I guess it’s on to the next.

The worst! After seeing the commercial, I couldn’t wait to try the food. Disappointed would be an understatement. Simply hated the service, the price and four thumbs down on the food.

Not a fan of this location, must be a franchise. This food is nowhere close to the other main location(camp creek & Panola Rd). The food is either greasy or dry and it tastes the way it looks. Everything needs to be redone from top to bottom, front of the house to the back of the house. The owners need to reinvest back into the restaurant. It has the same potential as their flagship restaurants.

So the other day, I didn’t bring lunch from home, didn’t want a sit down restaurant because I was short on time, and didn’t want fast food. My co-worker and I remembered going to Nirvana and saw This is It BBQ& Seafood and was excited because I really liked it. I had it in the Lithonia location. The food was finger licking good and the staff was friendly. She remembered seeing it featured on Real Housewives of Atlanta. Since it’s her first time ever, I told her it was cafetaria style. She really liked the choices. She got the pork ribs, green beans, and collard greens. Smryna location is a lot smaller than the Lithonia location. There were more choices. The chicken wasn’t out to choose but they did serve it and got it from the back for me. Therefore, I got dark chicken, green beans, and sweet potatoes. We took it back to work and ate in the cafetaria and enjoyed it so much. She gotten so much ribs and wasn’t to finish. We both enjoyed the green beans. She says the collard greens was good too. The dark chicken I had was so good. The hot bbq sauce that was drizzled on top hit the spot. The sweet potato was so creamy and sweet. I loved it. I cannot wait to go back.

I really wanted to like this place… I really really do. But, on my first visit, my chicken was NOT cooked at all. I ordered the dark meat chicken bbq meal. We waited for like thirty minutes– it was a to go– and when we came home, it was a big disappointment. I was very very hungry, but when I put my fork through it, blood just oozed out all over my plate. Yuck — I didnt eat any of the chicken. But hey! At least I still had my sides which were collard greens and pinto beans. Now, the collard greens were awesome, but not a big fan of the pinto beans. Then, I called the store to tell them about it and they fixed it right away by allowing me to get a ten piece chicken meal for free. Now THAT was some of the best chicken I have ever had! I highly highly recommend. I again asked for a side of collard greens and some mashed potatoes with gravy. Both sides are good. But some of the sides they had on display had clearly been sitting there uncovered for many hours. I am still contemplating whether or not I will come back to this place. I mean, that chicken was really good though …

Uhm, this is the first fast food place that I’ve ever been carded for to purchase food. So, yeah. There is that. This Is It is a chain BBQ/Soul Food joint, nothing more and nothing less. That means you shouldn’t expect slap your momma good food. The mac in cheese is surprisingly creamy, but definitely needs some doctoring up, and the rib tips are tender but nothing stellar. If you aren’t a soul food/BBQ connoisseur, This Is It will work for you. If you are, then be sure you know that a ittle bit of extra loving is needed.
