Dvora Dawson

I am updating my review for Dvora. Everything I said before still stands– and then some! I have been seeing Dvora for over 20 years as have my now adult girls as they have grown up and gone through every hair phase… They’ve done the Brazilian thing, keratin treatments, the feather phase back when that was a thing… My 19 year old saw her friends hair and really liked it so thought nothing of going to see her hair stylist. I didn’t love the idea but gotta let her do her thing. She has long curly dry hair that she ruined this summer with sun-​in. Definitely against Dvoras advice!!! She went in with photos etc of what she wanted. Upshot she ended up being bleached and ended up a platinum blonde!!! Yikes!!! Not at all what she asked for!!! To her credit, the stylist said she could come in and she would fix it. At this point, considering she botched the original so badly, didn’t want to go back. Called Dvora. She came in on her vacation to fix my daughters hair. She knows her product, knows hair, knows how to color and how to fix someone else’s disaster! I think that’s probably the hardest part!!! Her hair looks lovely, just as she asked for with a lot of advice on how to care for it and correct products. Will be forever grateful for the many years of stylish hair for myself and all the proms, formals, weddings, bat mitzvahs she has done for us all over the many years!!! Thank you Dvora!

Dvora is absolutely AMAZING at what she does. I am extremely picky! After multiple disasters with inexperienced or overly confident hairdressers, I finally found someone I trust. I came in with short, dead, badly colored hair. She compleetly transformed my look. She helped me select the right type of extensions for my lifestlye, and a gorgeous color that made my eyes pop. The extensions were blended perfectly! I never receive the comment «I like your extensions» (which I used to with my old stylist), but I often get «I love your hair, I’m so jealous of how long and full it is!». I couldn’t have been happier=). I would recommend giving her a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Dvora is a hair rock star! Great cuts and color every time. She’s the perfect balance of giving you what you want and what your hair needs to look great. Such a great chair side manner to match her talent.

Dvora has been my hair stylist for many years and that in itself reflects my appreciation of her. For many years I moved from stylist to stylist seeking someone who listened to my requests, could be creative with changing my style and always available to discuss any style changes. That describes Dvora as a stylist but above and beyond is her character and kindness. She is such an incredible lady and stylist!

I have had extensions for the past three years and know the basic do’s and don’ts of extension care. I had my extensions done at Dvora’s salon and was quite happy when I left that day. As I started styling and washing my extensions each day I began to notice many dark brown pieces of hair (I’m blonde), and my friend who had hers done as well even found a piece of black string in her hair, making me question the quality of this hair that I had spend a lot of money on. After a month I decided to have them moved up due to the tape slipping. As they were being taken out clumps of hair were just falling out (my hair along with the extensions) and they were completely unusable again.
I was very upset, wasting money on hair I had to throw away a month later, and even more upset about the lack of customer service I received after telling Dvora about what had happened. She offered no advice or way of fixing what had happened and pretty much told me I was out of the hundreds of dollars I spent to have my hair fall out.
Bottom line — Dvora and her salon assistants are not the people I would go to again to handle my precious locks.

Dvora has been doing my hair extensions for almost two years and I am over the moon happy with the results! I always thought my hair was too thin, etc… but Dvora made it happen and I have now crosed anther item off of my bucket list.
She has always made every effort to get me in at the last minute, send me home with products and share her vast knowledge of all things hair.
I would recommend her for anyone wanting extensions, cut or color!

Dvora is an awesome hairstylist! She has taken care of my hair for 20 years! I always leave the salon feeling pampered with great hair! She takes time to give a consultation to match your needs with her knowledge. I love that she is an expert colorist! I always get compliments on my hair by Dvora!

I’m actually not local, but live in Oregon. Dvora and I met while we were both traveling, but stay in touch via FB. She mentioned that my hair would do great with a Revlon Steam straightener. I have very thick, dry, curly hair. She mailed one to me and was absolutely correct. Like nothing I’ve ever used. Amazing product. She has AMAZING instincts about hair and was helpful and spot on about what would work well with my ball of frizz! :) Thank you, Dvora!

Love Dvora! She has been doing an amazing job on my hair for years. I would give her 10 stars if I could. She is not only talented but also easy to pass the time with.

I have been going to dvora for longer than I can remember and she is the only person I trust with my hair. Her studio is adorable and homy, and she is nothing but nice to every client who walks through her doors. She recently permanently straightened my hair and you would not believe the before and after pictures are really my hair! Absolutely crazy and so beautiful! she did an amazing job, and she is truly the only person I trust with my crazy hair!

Do not go to Dvora for hair extensions. After thinning my hair out with a razor, she proceeded to put the wrong hair extensions on my head. I have naturally wavy hair and said that I did not want them to be straight. She put in straw like African American hair and said it would «relax». Of course thy did not. When I went back to the salon, she pulled all of the clamp extensions out. With them came ¹⁄₃ of my hair. I initially wanted extensions for the length. After visiting her salon, I had to go to a high end salon to undo some of the damage and get extensions for thickness and because my hair had undergone so much breakage and was completely thrashed. This was years ago. I never wrote a review at the time, I am now since my hair is still recovering from this hair disaster. I highly doubt my hair will ever recover to the thick soft hair it was before getting extensions. What a nightmare. Maybe something else, but do NOT get extensions from this lady.

Before I met Dvora, I had had a horrible experience with highlights. Even though I had brought a picture to the other stylist, he left me leaving brassy and annoyed. When he tried to fix it, it got worse. I came to Dvora, and not only did she fix the color, but she gave me the best haircut I’ve ever gotten in my life!!! Hands down, Dvora is the best and I won’t be going anywhere else. Ever!

Worth the drive. I drive down from San Clemente to have my hair done by Dvora. She does a great job on color, highlights, and my cut. I have fine hair that can be difficult to style. Dvora always makes my hair look great.

I’ve known Dvora since 2006. What I found to be most attractive about her and her work is her educational background. I very much appreciate those who know their craft inside and out. The bottom line with what you will walk out the door with? A perfect cut and color every single time. Extreme attention to detail and complete precision. Watching her cut hair is like Davinci finishing the perfect piece. All of her services are completely affordable and her personality is 5 star! Thank you for the best treatment ever!

Dvora has been doing my hair extensions since 2008 and my hair looks fabulous. Her placement of the hair and her use of different extension processes always make my hair look completely natural. No one even knows I have hair extensions! Also, her prices are reasonable and she maintains the hair, which stays soft and smooth. I have had extensions since 2003 and Dvora is the best. Many hair dressers want you to pay exorbitant prices for each visit and refuse to maintain or reuse the hair. With Dvora, I can have beautiful, affordable extensions forever!

Whenever I want a new cut or color, I make the drive from Orange County down south to see Dvora. She does a GREAT job and always has excellent ideas on how to change things up.

Dvora is a busy lady, and for good reason! She takes her work seriously and is always willing to take time to show you how to do the style correctly. I appreciate her casual professionalism, it’s not intimidating and I can trust her artistic approach as well as professional opinion when it comes to caring for my hair.

Favorite hair lady! Dvora is awesome and totally knows what she is doing. Her new location is the cutest place too! Definitely worth checking out. I have been going to Dvora for 3 years now and every time has been wonderful. I had extensions put in and then taken out, highlights, lowlights, cut, everything and it always looks great. I love the atmosphere too. Everyone chats with everyone and you realize how small of a world we live in. I’ve been to many hair places but Dvora always gives me what I want and I never leave disappointed. :)
