Came here because we wanted to rent out some surreys for the family. It was a super easy process! Just showed up and then the adults had to sign a simple waiver assuming the basic liability stuff. Then a nice and personable kid set us up with our two surreys($ 10/hour each) and explained how they worked. Each one has a break that you have to pull down on to stop and then a lever that acts as a parking break. There’s also a little compartment up front for putting kids in – and believe me, they love it! Peddling the things isn’t extremely strenuous for the two-people surrey, and it’s not that bad for the four-person surrey(even if one or two people aren’t pulling their weight – literally). The trail itself kind of goes along the Tahoe streets. You get to ride across a few resort areas and a few businesses. We also stopped to have a little view of the beautiful, beautiful lake. The path is pretty narrow in some areas – make sure that the person steering(the person on the front left) knows what he or she is doing, because otherwise you’re gonna throw a wheel off the curb and fall into the street. That’s definitely not a good thing to do. Also, the steering wheel on the front right is just for show. The kid made fun of me for thinking it worked :( All in all, super fun! The kids loved it, and the adults loved it. How can you not smile riding these things? It’s a great leg workout, you can get up to good speeds(if you want), and it’s an awesome way to check out the town!

It is fun to rent the four wheeler for 2 hours. Very hard to ride on but super fun. People all look at you.

This is the 2nd bike rental company I tried in South Lake. Everything was A-OK. Except when I was riding for about 20 minutes and my seat came a bit loose. I guess it was an easy fix, but we had to ride back to the shop and have them fix it. They did give us an extra 20 minutes to our time to explore. We only rented for 1.5 hours and I do wish there was a little more to explore directly around the shop without having to ride on the highway and go further. But if you go towards the lake, you’ll find some nice short scenic paths. Definitely worth checking out and pretty cheap too and no hidden fees. I would definitely return.

Considering their convenient location and that we didn’t have any bikes with us on our getaway, this place is would get a solid 4 stars… see below. Upon arrival we were asked what type of bikes we wanted. As tempting as the 4 person buggies were, we opted for bikes for each of us. The man helped pick out our bikes, gave us a map and took our credit card number as a deposit. Off we went! There are some great little paths on the 10 mile round trip route between Tahoe Bike Company and Camp Richardson. You don’t spend much time on the lake but when you arrive at Camp Richardson you can pull right up on the beach and relax. Picnic anyone? I was swearing a lot of the time because my bike wouldn’t shift. I had to put all of my weight into the shifter and jam on it. My biking partners were always way, way, way ahead of me. I don’t consider myself an inexperienced biker and was annoyed to learn after 5 miles that I had a low tire. It made for a sluggish ride out. My husband was nice enough to switch bikes with me on the way back. I mentioned the flat to the guy helping us and he wasn’t too interested. It cost us $ 60 for three people and an hour and 45 minutes of biking, not bad.

There are many bike rental places along the main road through South Lake. Tahoe Bike Company is middle of the road, both figuratively(mediocre service and bikes) and figuratively(smack dab in the center of town). Upon the suggestion of my friend and her husband, we decided to kill a couple hours by getting in some exercise along the beautiful shores of Tahoe. The guy who rented to us was gruff and a little crabby. We asked him several times about what route was best to take and in which direction and he was vague. When we asked about what trail to take, he old motioned at a map and said it was self explanatory. My bike had crooked handle bars and my friend’s bike had a flat rear tire. We rode down tow Camp Richardson and back(about ten miles round trip) and enjoyed the ride itself immensely, even though a good chunk of it still parallels the heavily-trafficked main road. I don’t have any other options in the neighborhood to compare this to, but based on my experience I’m not sure why such rave reviews.

We were looking for adventures to do while vacationing with our kids in Tahoe. This place came up. Staff was very friendly and got us all signed up on stand-by for a family Surrey bike. We took a lake view bike trail ride and had a blast. We would highly recommend it for a good time! Reasonable pricing for hourly rate.

What a great group of guys. Everyone was so friendly & helpful. The prices were great and it was so much fun. We rented one of the bike/carts which four people can peddle, but it seats more like 5 or 6. We laughed & laughed as we rode along the path and through the neighborhood. So much fun, I would highly recommend it.

We rented a two-person Surrey and a child bike for an hour. The rental experience was good. The price was a bit higher than Heavenly but here you’re a lot closer to the various bike trails in the area. If you’re not an avid cyclist, recommend you rent only one hour. We learned that lesson the hard way before. Will definitely rent from here again instead of dragging up bicycles on the carrying rack.

The guys here saved the day. Headed out to Camp Richardson bike trails, I discovered double flats on the wife’s bike. Did a quick Unilocal search and found these guys. We went to the shop and John quickly replaced both tubes. Paid $ 18.xx. Totally worth it. In and out in about 10 minutes. Very happy with the service and quality. They’re «pet friendly» too.

Our group rented a double surrey from Tahoe Bike Company over the weekend while staying in South Lake Tahoe and everything went great, we had a good time. They had plenty of different bikes to choose from and the double surrey was what fitted our group(3 adults, 1 child, and 1 toddler). One gentleman got me signed up, and another one walked us through with tips on how to use and maneuver the surrey. He even put on the helmets for my little one and niece. The trails aren’t as long as I had hoped but just following what they recommended took up exactly one hour as they predicted so everything worked out perfectly and by the end of it we got a pretty good workout from peddling either way. Not once was my little one scared and everyone had such a good time. We are renting from here when we’re back in town again. All their staff was super nice, would definitely recommend. Afterwards you can treat yourself to a milk shake from Sno Cone or to some ice cream from the snack shack just a walk away at Reagan Beach.

First time renting bikes with our daughters. awesome service! We needed a tandem since we didn’t feel comfortable with our youngest riding by herself… Ed found us one and we were off! We had a great time and will definitely be back! Thanks guys!

We just rented bikes here for an hour. I’m giving them two stars because the equipment is nice and reasonably priced, but the service was no good. The guys acted irritated from the moment we showed up, tossed a map at us, refused to help us on best trails and wouldn’t help me adjust my sons’ helmet when I asked. I’m surprised that my experience didn’t match those posted. Also, if you are with a family and renting a surrey, there were not good trails nearby.

I think this place used to be called Lakeview Rentals. Just randomly stopped by here on vacation to rent a couple bikes. The owner was super friendly and helpful. He didn’t try to push us to get more expensive bikes. he actually suggested us to get the cheaper ones if we didn’t plan on doing anything crazy. We rented to hybrid bikes which was just $ 14 an hour per bike.

We rented bikes here with friends that were visiting from the Bay. Our beach cruisers were only $ 30 each for four hours, we got a bike trail map, locks and rode down to Camp Rich for lunch, then to Kiva and Baldwin beaches. The weather was great and the trails were just recently paved. The guys at the bike shop were really nice and helpful with suggestions where to go. We will definitely recommend them to other friends that vacation here and come to visit us, for bicycle rentals. Thanks again!
