Came here cause a friend of mine band was playing, also because my husband really wanted to go! It took a little bit for us to get seated but many people were there to see the band so we were not worried, they got is in as quickly as they could! The food and service was good. They have a tons of beers on tap and our server didn’t know them all so we had to go look! Totally worth it though. All three of us ended up getting burger with different types of fries so we could try them all. The garlic parmesan fries where very yummy and not over seasoned. The sweet potato fries where a little more crispy than we normal like but still good. What I ended up getting where amazing and of course I can’t remember what they are called. They were a cross between curly fries and thick cut! The burger were good and cooked just the way we asked! If you’re going on the weekend, be prepared for a wait. If there is a band there are NO speakers throughout the restaurant so sit close or you won’t be able to hear that well. That’s my only negative thing about our visit, only cause we told them we were here for the band and they sat us kind of far away and didn’t tell us about the no speakers!

Maria completed my experience here at tilted kilt. Ive been to the Nashua one several times and never had this kind of experience in this franchise. She was personable, and fun to talk to during lunch. She had plenty of energy which motivated me to continue to stay. She explained that her location puts lemon juice in their angry balls drink. I never knew they did this, thank you for telling me. I did try it and love it more. The food was okay, it is pub so you cant have too high expections. The prices are more fair than the one I am use to going to. Long story short, I will come back on Tues and Thurs when I am in town to get the Maria experience again.

First and foremost, Maria, the bartender, epic amazing! She is funny and knows how to joke. The food, wasn’t horrible but not great. It was typical bar food. The environment is sport bar-ish. Lots of tvs and music playing. All and all, I would definitely return. Especially since they offer a military discount! :-)

came in here last night(Monday) at 10pm to watch the NBA playoffs. first, they were playing the least sports-relevant shows on tv… out of 20 or so TVs, only 2 were playing the game. like wtf, I thought this was a sports bar? second, the bartender clearly had no experience in making cocktails(I ordered an old fashioned and The Prospector, which is another whiskey drink). both drinks had way too much ice and too much juice… also, there were 2 girls working there when we went, which is completely fine… the one we talked to, Maria, was very friendly. and that is why this place gets 2 stars and not one. the male bartender had no idea what prices were, how to change tv stations, nor could he make drinks… hmmmmmm… on the flip side, he was chill too… just had no knowledge or skills that a normal bartender should.

It is what it is! Fun sports bar/Scottish-themed atmosphere. Young servers with skimpy outfits means all of the patrons are dudes(a serious sword fight)-service was ok, girls were cute but nowhere I would go for fine dining. Listen, it’s great for a post-sales meeting beer with the guys — beyond that, not so much!

Loved the atmosphere. Loved the beautiful lady servers… Very clean. I had a beer and wings… The service was adequate. The wings were so-so. I’d say a 6.5 out of 10.

Stopped in on a fri. Eye candy yes, but like im paying 8 $ for a shot of jamo. Thats 135 $ a bottle… for a regular 750 ml bottle of jamo. Slow at 11 pm on a friday but still had really bad service right at the bar. For simple drinks… pbr, jamo. For that price a shot service should be at least decent. People are nice enough but just snotty and disingenuous. Food was lacking. I had philly steak, was like chopped beef on a hot dog bun. Clearly pulled from some deep freezer. Again nice to look at but just kind of felt swindled. May as well go to a strip club Update… still here. pulled glass from ice well right in front of me. Umm like i think this is a piece of glass?

Mediocre(at best) food and horrible service. For some reason TK girls from Denver to Maine think that just because their goods are on display that they don’t have to be attentive servers. I want to like this place but of the several I’ve been to all over the country have never received even an average level of service.

Ok. I’ll be fair. I didn’t actually eat here. But I almost did so it counts. It was new so my hubby and I decided we’d try it. Walked in and it was packed. A lot of men, young families with lots of kids, and teenage boys. It looked nice though so we decided we might try it. Then we found out the wait was almost an hour +. Well hubby decided to look at the menu anyway which looked pricey for what it was, but interesting. Then we saw the waitresses walking back and forth and having never been to a Tilted Kilt(which is, apparently famous somewhere), we were a bit surprised by the«uniforms» and realized that it was kinda like a Hooters in that respect. Here I will mention that I would not take my kids to a Hooters. but I am open minded and this would be ok since this is, after all, a Sports BAR; as long as I didn’t bring the kids along, I could deal. My husband’s face was a mixture of embarrassment, uncomfortableness(is that a word?), and guarded delight, as he attempted to look at the menu and not the big boobs that kept brushing up against him in the crowded wait area. He avoided looking at me at all… but while concentrating on and staring hard at the menu said.“Well, I see lots I would like to try here but not much you’d be interested in eating… A salad maybe?” So yea. he said that.(And lived). My recommendation… Well. If you have lots of time to wait… it might be ok. If you’re a guy. the longer you get to be there. the happier you will probably be about it. Don’t go if your wife is the jealous type or you are a woman with a jealous streak. Don’t bring the kids. If you are a man that wants to see boobs… just go to the nearest strip joint. It costs about the same. and lots more fun. And most of them have snaks and some even have a tv or two, although I’m not sure why. If situations like this make you uncomfortable, don’t go. Might be fun. but definately not for families. No comment on the food itself, since I did not eat any. So we skipped it and went to Olive Garden. My husband was pretty sad about that. Oh well. :)

Im going to get this out of the way early… BIGBREASTSANDSHORTKILTS… LOTSOFTHEM. Now onto the rest of my review. I visited the Tilted Kilt on Valentines Day Night and it was somewhat busy but nothing crazy for a place that only opened a few weeks ago. As I would soon find out, the highlights of this place have little to do with the food but a whole lot to do with the«talents» of the waitresses. Simone and I started off with a few beers and an order of the Irish Nachos. Irish Nachos are house made potato chips topped with a mildly spiced cheese sauce and fresh diced tomatoes, ground hamburger and Jalapenos. The chips were crispy and the cheese sauce was good but I was somewhat puzzled by the cold toppings, especially the ground hamburger. Im not sure if the hamburger is supposed to be ice cold but it is a rather odd choice on top of nachos that are otherwise hot and it didn’t really excite me. For the entrée Simone went with the Chili. It came in a small cup but was the perfect size for her. It was however 50% cheese and 50% chili. The chili was okay, It was mild and chunky and reminded me more of a spaghetti meat sauce then chili. For my entrée I ordered the Boston Burger and thankfully this was delicious. It was a perfectly cooked fresh tasting burger marinated in Sam Adams beer and topped with sweet caramelized onions and Bacon(although that could have been crispier). I finished the whole thing. The fries on the side were the frozen bag variety and were not very hot or crispy. They were also not seasoned even though I ordered salt and pepper fries. So overall I can’t give this much more then two stars. The entrees sound better on the menu then they are and they could all use a little more heat(literally) and a little more seasoning.

Review update 2÷15÷16 My wife and I decided to give this place another try. Huge mistake. Yet again(on a Sat at 5pm) they were out of both of the entrees we wanted! How does this happen? Opening week was barely understandable, but there is no excuse this time. The waitress was not as attentive as when they opened. In fact she disappeared for very long periods of time and we had to flag her down for drink refills. Not to mention our appetizer arrived after our entrees! Never, ever again. One star. — — — — — — — – Well this was certainly a mixed bag. When I go to a sports bar(waitress costumes aside, that’s what this place is) I don’t expect gourmet food. I expect decent comfort food, good drinks, TVs, and a fun atmosphere. What we had at Tilted Kilt was about 50% of this. To be fair we went on Thursday night, the 4th night they were open. The place was packed with a 45 minute wait to get a table. I wouldn’t normally review a place opening week or even go there but this is a chain and I thought they’d have things reasonably under control. Wrong. They were out of the appetizer we wanted and the entrée I ordered. At 6pm. The waitress told us it was better than the night before when they were out of half the menu. Doesn’t Tilted Kilt have ANY experience opening a location? Is Portland so desperate for cleavage that we overwhelmed them?! When we got our food it was very sub-standard. The queso dip was a very strange color and texture. My sandwich was completely tasteless and the fries were overdone. My wife did not care for her sandwich either. I’ve had better food at Applebee’s! The waitresses were interesting. Tilted Kilt encourages their wait staff to be very friendly to the point of sitting with you at your table, asking your name, shaking hands, playing games with you, and giving you their life story. I didn’t mind it but it made my wife uncomfortable. The waitresses provided excellent service in spite of the obvious chaos surrounding them. And yes, they were quite attractive. The space itself is typical sports bar. People seemed to be having fun. No shortage of TVs — I stopped counting at 30. Will we go back? Probably just to see if has improved once they have gotten their feet underneath them.

Stopped by for lunch on and after a wait was seated at a high top. Greeted by a friendly waitress in the cute tilted kilt attire. They were sadly out of the classic scotch egg which seems to happen a lot. Despite the busy atmosphere we hardly had to wait for our food to arrive. The fried pickles were good but a bit greasy. The boneless wings were moist and coated in an awesome sweet spicy sauce which happens to be the tk signature. The pulled pork Mac n cheese was loaded with thick creamy cheese and topped with a small portion of pulled pork and onion straws. It was a good flavor combination but very heavy meal. As we managed to get thru half the meal we realized we needed a box. They were out of boxes. The waitress again apologized. Maybe they have some kinks to work out but there was nothing special about this eatery.

Went with some friends the other day and we were not impressed. We had a long wait and the food wasnt worth the price and the waitress was so annoying. She was complaining to us about another table that didnt leave her a tip. She was telling everyone her life story. We didnt come here to hear about her life. Also the bathroom wasnt clean. Never again

Went during a «soft«opening for family and friends. I wasn’t expecting the service to be that of a place that had been opened a while but instead expected a few kinks aa the place hadn’t even opened up yet to the public. Surprisingly it was fairly smooth. Guys were hot that work there and the waitresses were very nice. The food was fine. The overload of TV’S was AWESOME!!! Since then they have been slammed. And any business when it gets slammed with that many people will have some problems but what business doesn’t have problems in their first months of opening? I’ve noticed others complaining about reservations and such. They don’t take reservations so no way anyone had reservations 2 weeks in advance when they don’t take them.(i have heard rhey may Start taking reservations for large groups in the future but not now) One can call ahead and there may be a table ready but what happens from time you call and time you arrive is not there fault. I’ve seen many people call ahead at a restaurant and never show up. Saving a table is loss of money. I don’t see the place slowing down within the next 6 months as the spring comes and the youth sports teams start showing up after a win or loss, sea dogs season, concert season and then tourist season so I’d expect a wait of at least 45 minutes until then. And don’t expect less than that on the weekends for a wait as it is a sports bar. Beer, boobs, short skirts, gazillion TV’S and men in kilts! !!!

Kinda shocked by the low ratings for this place. I’ve been here twice now since they opened and both times have been great. Today I had the fried pickles which were perfectly fried and came with a spicy and delicious dipping sauce. I also ordered F.A.B burger, which was really good and served with a side of fries. Another nice thing is there draft beer menu has prices. One thing I could not get over were the massive… amounts of televisions all over the walls. It doesn’t matter where you sit you can see at least 5 or 6 t.v.s. I liked how they resigned the place to feel like a giant bar, no more requesting to sit in the bar. You walk in you’re at the bar. The first time I went, the server was a little friendlier than the one I had today which made a difference. I will be back to this place and I’m hoping to see the average rating go up a little since this place deserves it.

They had a selection of(1) cider, so I got it($ 6.50). It was really sweet and flat — no bubbles at all, but whatever. We asked the bartender to get ESPN on… nothing. We asked the bar back twice. To make a long story short, we couldn’t get ESPN on before the game we wanted had ended. 30 tvs showing nothing but postgame commercials while real games were going on. The girl in charge of tv’s wasn’t really into sports. If you’ve never seen the tops of ugly girl’s boobs propped up, then by all means go. They DONOT get any of the sports packages either. We didn’t try the food, but I’m not in any hurry to go back.

My wife and I went on Monday afternoon(MLK Day) to give it a try. We figured being open for about a week that most of the kinks would be ironed out. We walked in and immediately got a seat. The place was almost full with some tables empty. The waitress was very friendly. We were going to order and she told us they were out of buns. Really a sports pub out of buns??? I was very apologetic about that and gave us bun options. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a Philly cheese steak. It took 45 minutes for our order to arrive. We were disappointed with the food. If you want to go to a decent sports pub there is a better one with awesome food down the road. If my wife and I had a choice of a «girly» themed restaurant we would have preferred this space been a Hooters. Two stars given just for the friendly girls who work there.

PRO: Atmosphere was nice. The Irish décor was great, with the exception of the 40+ flat screen televisions inside; can do with a few less episodes. The staff were very attentive to customers. CON: I had some major issues with the food. I ordered the Spicy Mother Clucker Chicken Sandwich. The chicken is hand-breaded, with the option of grilled or fried. I ordered it fried, but it didn’t seam to be fried. The sandwich was tossed in «their» Tilted sauce, which was a mild form of tabasco sauce. While it is listed as having ranch on the sandwich, no ranch was seen or tasted. When looking at the bun, it seamed like they put an extra thin layer on the bun. SIDE: When ordering the sandwich you get a choice of sides, like fries or salt and pepper fries. For a «PRIEMIUMSIDE» like Onion Rings, you pay an extra 1.00. That extra dollar gave me 5 rings and 3 – 4 quarter inch pieces. Felt like I was cheated out of an extra buck.

We came in(party of two — guy and gal) and were seated immediately, when taking our order our server sat down with us, which was interesting as I don’t see that commonly. She was friendly to begin with but after our initial order for appetizer, we noted a table of four young men(college age) next to us, for the rest of the evening, she paid way more attention to them and the table next to us while nearly ignoring our table. While this was disappointing, the busboy was attentive to our plates and empty glasses and did manage to pay attention to us. Our appetizer took 30 minutes to come out, and was almost delivered to the wrong table. It was an ADDITIONALHOUR for our entrees to come out. This was during a game day, but the game had ended over 45 minutes ago. The entrees were a burger and a half-salad. The orders were incorrect as the burger was well-done, not medium, and toppings were included that were asked to be excluded. The food itself was mediocre, and with the orders being incorrect, this took it down further. Another point of frustration was that as the table of young men next to us continued to drink, with two being visibly intoxicated, the table continued to get beers despite their increasingly obnoxious behavior which greatly detracted from our experience. Additionally my simple diet coke failed to be refilled despite that table having received many rounds. To be fair, this is the first week they are open and may be working out kinks within their system. It just seemed strange that a chain would have such a rocky start, one would think they would have a ‘by the books’ play for opening week. I understand this is a ‘themed’ sports bar and people come to drink and have a good time. However the fact the waitress fed into the behaviors of the table next to us while failing to acknowledge us, and our order having been incorrectly prepared after over an hour wait led to our poor experience at this restaurant.

It was packed. Opening week though. They had an hour plus wait at the door. Went to the bar and luckily two people got up. Went with my friend. Service was good. The bar tender I had knew me from another restaurant. He made the jump here. He said it was going well. Orders shepherds pie and a couple drinks. It was 4⁄5. Tasty, just didn’t have that authentic shepherds pie taste. The seasoning used overpowered the fresh taste of potatoes and vegetables I should have tasted. TVs all around the restaurant with every sport. To me it’s not a family restaurant. The women wore short skirts and short shirts. Everyone looked good. Definitely a different atmosphere that Portland ME needed.

Oh, the Tilted Kilt. Destined to receive many one star reviews from self-righteous feminists who never actually step foot in the business, it deserves better. It’s actually the best sports bar outside of the Old Port. Inside the completely transformed ex-Newicks is a staggering number of flat screen TVs. So staggering that it’s nearly impossible to decide which one to focus on for a game. With plentiful parking and a more natural feel than the warehouse-like Buffalo Wild Wings, this will be the new hot spot for sports. It’s a big, attractive restaurant that doesn’t quite shake the chain restaurant feel, but it comes close. The food is typical three star chain restaurant fare. I liked my burger a lot(and they’re HUGE). The wings were decent. The mozzarella sticks were pretty bad, as were the nachos. It’s no better or worse than most of the restaurants around the mall. You don’t come here for a meal to rival Central Provisions, so it’s reliable comfort food. Now for the famed Kilt Girls… their uniforms show their stomach(gasp!). It will probably pollute your mind and corrupt your children, so please take this into consideration. In reality, the servers were maybe the nicest I’ve ever seen in any restaurant in Maine. Nearly all were extremely attentive and personable. They really do add to the great atmosphere at the restaurant. And in the end, isn’t that what matters? With a dizzying array of tvs for sports, reasonably priced beer, ok food and a winning atmosphere, the Tilted Kilt should thrive. if you can make it past the picketers.
