This place is amazing hands down the best sesame chicken on the island. The owner is as nice and friendly as an owner can be. Extremely accommodating for any need and all at a reasonable price. They cant be beat. Order from here and build a relationship with tacks. You will be thankful that you did

The food is expensive and not great at all. Takes a long time. The better place is on Bradley Ave, Peking kitchen… cheaper and delicious food. Not ordering from this place no more.

Although I’m not really a fan of Chinese Fast Food, I must say this is by far the best Chinese Take-Out restaurant in Staten Island & probably one of the best in NYC. I’ve had their food on multiple occasions and without disappointment. The food is always great, the service is excellent and the restaurant is clean. In comparison to other Chinese Take-Out restaurants, this place has a much better quality of food. I live in Queens, where Chinese take out restaurants are plentiful and most of them serve garbage for food. Would definitely recommend this place 100% if you’re in the area and in the mood for Chinese. Small tip: Do not go here if you’re looking for«Chicken Wings & French Fries.»

It’s as GREAT as advertised! I came all the way here from Jersey because of all the hype and rave reviews it has received. It has been a staple of Staten Island for years and I heard from several locals that it was the best chinese take out not only in Staten Island, but in all of New York. I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken, which is what they’re known for, and it was amazing. The General Tso’s Chicken was perfectly crisp and juicy. I also had their chicken fried rice, which was cooked perfectly with white meat chicken. The place was clean, the service was excellent, and the food was to die for. I can honestly say, this has been the best take out experience I’ve ever had.

My family ordered take-out last night I got a Roast Pork Yat Gaw Mein, 2 Roast Pork LoMein(larges) and a small Wonton soup The price(close to $ 30) was high but that is to be expected The food was nothing spectacular but I’ve tasted worse The restaurant needs a good scrubbing & an update Make sure when ordering you ask for Duck sauce, soy sauce, tea, chow Mein noodles We didn’t ask for them thinking cause we ordered 3 soups, noodles & sauce would be included Nope, they wasn’t The food also took over an hour to get & we picked it up Taks is a hit or miss depending on the day

Food is okay. Not the ranting and raving everyone says it is. Beware! The large portions are actually normal Tupperware sizes. 10 dollars for a Tupperware size«large portion» they need to stop being cheap with that hefty 9.95.

Consistently good, well-flavored take out. Staff are friendly and lunch specials are ready within 5 minutes. The chicken and broccoli has great flavor, sauce, comes with white rice and your choice of small appetizer, like wonton soup which is great– for $ 6.50+tax. The chicken or its sauce is a little greasy– maybe they can lighten that up a bit.

I’ve been ordering from Tacks for years. I love their spicy shredded chicken with garlic sauce, as well as their shrimp fried rice. Make sure to ask for X or XX spice, if you prefer your dishes spicy. They always get my order correct, and wait time is never more than 15 – 20 min. Thanks Tacks for being my SI Chinese food spot!

3.7. I got the vegetable lo mein & veggie spring rolls. My boyfriend got the sesame chicken & lo mein. The workers seemed nice & were friendly but the place didn’t look very clean. My lo mein was good by the spring rolls were def slacking. My boyfriend liked his chicken for the most part, but he agreed with me about the spring rolls. I probably won’t order from here again but it was an experience so I don’t regret it

This is my ultimate favorite chinese restaurant on the island. The food is awesome and the owners are very friendly and down to earth. I wished they would expand to sit down restaurant. The food is very tasty and delicious. They can make it spicy and tasty all in one. You cannot get that kind of level of taste in any other chinese takeout on the island unless you go to brooklyn. I drive out of my way to get their food with my kids. Their general tso, chicken/shrimp with broccoli with garlic sauce, beef fried rice and spare ribs are one of my favorite dishes to get there. Every other chinese restaurant I go to has a sweet sour taste to their garlic sauce… instead of the spicy taste. Their food is the only ones like they have in nyc/bklyn…don’t have to pay toll to get it. The owners are really genuinely humble, sweet and friendly. They treat everyone like family. Yes I am soo the regular customer and I actually feel good about saying that. It’s take out and cash bases only. They need to expand.

I have absolutely no idea how this place has such good reviews. First off, they don’t take credit card. Always a good sign. Second, I asked in my delivery order for fried noodles and duck sauce, which the girl offered to throw in. Noodles were not included and I got one packet of duck sauce. Apparently, you have to pay extra for that to begin with. Pathetic. Now for the food. The wonton soup was average. Nothing bad, nothing good. The shrimp toast was disgusting. Soggy, weird smelling, and according to the 3 other people in my household who tried it, gross. The pork in the dumplings was very grisly. The sesame chicken was horrendous. Slimy chicken, gray, and not cleaned well. The egg roll had a sour tangy taste. Something I never tasted before in a pork egg roll. Suffice to say, I won’t be ordering from them again. Dog is getting some decent leftovers though.

There is only 3 chinese food restaurants that are good and Tack’s is the best out of the three. I’m from brooklyn and when moving to staten island I couldn’t believe how horrible the chinese food was here. I’ve tried numerous chinese restaurants and they were all horrible, so finding Tack’s is definitely a gem. If you want really spicy food, tell Tack and you will probably will be shooting flames out of your mouth. So be cautious when asking for really spicy food. Food is very tasty and not greasy at all. You will definitely thank me for trying this place. His brown sauce is extremely flavorful. Enjoy everyone!

Easily the best chinese takeout on Staten Island. The service is quick and there’s something comforting about always calling and hearing Tack’s pleasant«okayyy,» when you call. If you like spicy food, Tack’s is the best at catering to spice levels, just use the“X” system when ordering. Now, I like my food spicy so I’ll order my food and ask for 1x.(Pronounced«one x»). I’ve tried two and it’s just too hot to enjoy an entire dish. I imagine 3x is for devotees of man cs food challenges and iron stomach linings. My go to dishes are the chicken chow fun, beef & broccoli, pork fried rice, and barbecue spare ribs. My wife loves the sesame chicken too. The only star deduction is for the cash only policy which can be inconvenient.

I like this place for two reasons. One mainly because the food has never disappointed me. Always delicious and secondly the main lady that answers the phone is the nicest politest person ever! She’s just such a pleasure to speak to when ordering your food. Thank you for the excellent costumer service!

I was very disappointed with the food after all the great reviews. The food was very bland, I will not be coming here again. The owner(I think) working the counter was very funny and friendly. I wish the food was better because it is close and the service was great. I ordered sesame chicken(w/fried rice), egg drop soup with wontons and egg rolls. The chicken was very good; rice was not(though it looked like it would be) it was very bland no taste at all. The egg drop soup tasted like gooey water, the wontons were also not very tasty. The egg rolls were ok, but not too much too them and too much cabbage.

My number one pick on Staten Island! Tack is there every night. He takes pride in his food which is something lacking almost everywhere else. SPICY lovers look no further. Tack will make it as spicy as you like(or less too). Crispy chicken is incredible.

THEBESTCHINESEONSTATENISLAND. Period. End of Story. Tack, himself, is a doll. I’ve never had a greasy egg roll, my favorite, for him ever. I don’t know how he does it, but they come out dry and not covering the bag in oil. The General Tso’s chicken is crisp and spicy. Bold spicy. You can ask him to make it less spicy, but don’t. It’s perfection. Everything and anything on the menu is awesome. And I’m really happy he never added friend chicken wings and french fries like some places have. THATSNOTCHINESE! Take out only, by the way!

Best Chinese food ever. I am from Brooklyn and i am use to Chinese food restaurants serving chicken wings and french fries, but when i cam here, i was in for a surprise. Its not your average Chinese food. Its flavorful, plentiful and the service is great. Its pricey but definitely worth it. I wish i lived in Staten island because i would come here every day. When the owner sees me, he remembers that i am from Brooklyn and he is very friendly. His wife and daughter are also very nice people. If you can, eating here is a must!!!

Are people crazy!!! Anything less than 4stars is pretty ridiculous here. I grew up on Tacks take out and I can boldly say that everything here is delish and fresh. I can pick something randomly off the menu and even if I have to take the water chestnuts or celery out, I know it’s going to taste good. Everything here is tasty but here are the recommendations: Tacks fried rice is one of a kind –a must try! Garlic chicken Beef Chow fun Singapore noodles Hot and sour soup Eggplant with garlic sauce And last but definitely thee best of all is the crab with garlic sauce! I know many family members who drive out of state just to get their crab! Myself included here. Do yourself a favor and don’t blame me when you find yourself getting the cravings for Tacks takeout!
