Fair Establishment. Definitely an evening hangout spot and not during a nice sunny day. Walls w/out windows and dim lighting. Menu is traditional bar«I’m drunk/hungry and don’t care what they serve» food which is fine/expected.

Tony I love ur place stopped by and had a few also a lot of food. I was watching the fight whistled had my back to bar but a friend saw the guy bartender look at him as I was getting into the fight said can I get another. The bartender copped an attitude said I’m no waitress if u want a beer come up here. I explained it was me who was watching the fight he just started being rude loud an disrespectful. I have been her over two hundred times in the last two years an tell all my friends. We were blown away with the attitude. Maybe we need another hang out. Tony maybe he’s having a bad night

I have heard over and over how good the grilled cheese sandwich is here. Well I finally tried it and it t was great it was encrusted with parmesan cheese. The garlic fries were excellent. The service could be better but the lady was by herself. So she did good

Normally I don’t review bars cuz what are you going to say about a bar. Let me tell you Finns got some funny bartenders and great food! The burgers and tacos are yummy! I also gotta say the pretzels and cheese are DELICIOUS!

Awesome service! Everything we ate was delicious. We had the Gunslinger hamburgers, onion rings, sweet potato fries, and ice tea. I would go back anytime!

My 16-year-old sister goes here. She tags herself here on Facebook with her other high school friends who go with her and yes they all look 16. I really wish this establishment would by more professional in who they let in especially since my sis and her friends brag about the fights and the grown men who hit on them.

Been there twice around 10pm, once on Friday another time on a weekday. Both times was refused entry because I hadn’t «liked» the page on Facebook. First of all I rarely use Facebook and when I do I don’t want to see pics or posts of this shitty bar. I understand the concept of using this tactic to keep certain people out, but it was enforced as if the establishment would collapse if they let a single person in who hadn’t liked their Facebook page. The goons at the door are jokes. I returned a second time giving Finns the benefit of the doubt but got the same response. What a joke, a guest list to get into this shit hole.

Stopped in on a Saturday night for a quick drink and some apps about 8:45 and surprisingly it was fairly empty, maybe 6 other people. We even had to call just to make sure the place was open since from outside it looked closed. When we walked in we were greeted and found a spot near the front/stage. There were two large projector screens showing replays of sports games and also additional TV’s surrounding the bar and restaurant. It was freezing inside so we had to find a table not directly under their ceiling fans. We came in on a good night since every other Friday and Saturday night from 9 – 10 they have power hour which is $ 1 wells and beer! What!!! Not $ 1 off but $ 1 for a drink. Sure why not. The drinks come in a little smaller plastic cup but really for a buck who cares. Our waitress was brand new so she was not familiar with the brands of wells they were serving or items on the menu so she had to continue to leave us to ask other staff. When we asked if the calamari was strips or pieces she went to go ask and came back and said they actually don’t have calamari on the menu anymore. No worries, plenty of other things on the menu. We ordered the fried pickles, onion rings and chili cheese chips(fries). Fried pickles were okay and went well with the drinks. The onion rings were beer battered and cooked perfectly. The chili cheese fries were not what I was expecting. The chili had a lot of grease and liquid that make the fries mushy. I’m assuming they fry the fries then pour the chili on top and then add the cheese and then bake it. You need a plate and fork to eat it(which we had to ask for) since it’s super messy. The flavor of the chili was okay though. Our waitress was really nice and maybe just nervous but when she was serving us she knocked over one of the drinks. The entire drink poured out towards my husband and since there weren’t any napkins on the tables we couldn’t help her stop it from falling on the ground. She came back and cleaned up what was on the table but left the rest that was on the floor. I don’t think she even told anyone about the spill so my husband had to move so he wasn’t sitting in the drink. By that time we were ready to go and the bar was actually filling up. A dj was setting up, lots of people playing pool and at least one bouncer at the door. I’m glad we checked it out as we were passing through. If you check in on Unilocal you also get 50% off of an app.

Not an Irish pub… average food, pricey, less than average service, and not set up for mingling. Read Chris W review; I think he says it well(5÷16÷2015)

Cool atmosphere, a little dark. Great music. Awesome place to hang out with friends and goof off. this place turns into an 21& up club after 10pm. Food was decent if you’re in the mood for bar food. We ordered burgers and chicken strips. The waitress was cool despite all the negative reviews I read prior to visiting. I’d probably return with a groupon of course, lol

First off I’ll start by saying that we came here with a groupon to eat, no beers or alcohol. The service was wonderful, our waiter was friendly and funny. However… I haven’t eaten this disgusting of a meal at a restaurant in a really long time. The food was soaked in grease, we ordered two burgers and the fish and chips. On the bottom of the burgers was a thick coating of burnt nastiness and the burgers fell apart due to the grease after the first bite. We won’t be coming back for the food, as the best part of our meal was the water.

Unprofessional. I had heard so many great things about this bar so I chose to try it out and I absolutely regret it. Bartender was extremely rude, food took almost an hour to receive and was cold when I got it. Never again will I go here and I will discourage anyone I speak to to do the same.

Many of my memories are linked with Finnegans. If someone ask me that which is the good bar in Stockton then only one name came in my mind is Finnegans. Drinks are at the good price and they tastes nice as well. Bar tenders are really good specially the Matt because I never has to stand in line for drinks its only because I’m regular there. Finnegans is only place I have seen where they appreciate regulars business. Ohhh ya chicken wings and jelopeno poppers are my best. Lastly I want to say that this is the only one safe place in Stockton Now I live in ease coast but I still miss this place. Whenever I get chance to come Cali I’ll go there and say hello to Tony

Hello Unilocal Readers, I seldom write reviews these days but people really deserve to hear about our first experience at this local bar. I was watching a documentary about Stockton a year or so ago and it featured this Irish Pub. This documentary showed this pub as one of Stockton’s only safe and friendly pubs. I am not much of a drinker but as a local business owner we had a small victory and I wanted to take my client out for a dinner and a drink for a mild celebration. We came into the bar and sat down. We for the most part talked only amongst ourselves about our business. We spoke a small bit to the day bartender who seemed to be a fairly nice guy. Ordered a couple beers and some appetizers and noticed rude glares coming from the bartender about to come on duty. I thought nothing of this at first. As time progressed the new bartender who came on duty began making small talk. Soon after he worked his way to the other side of the bar and began mildly flirting with some young ladies at the other end of the bar. We slightly overheard something about us being mumbled from the bartender to the young ladies and then the young ladies looked immediately over to us and began laughing and not in a good way. Since we didn’t know what was said we just continued to eat out appetizers and drink our beers. A short time later the bartender made his way over to ask if we wanted move beer and to make more small talk. Here is where it gets interesting folks. My client whom is a Sacramento health inspector asks them about the live music they had advertised. The bartender told him that after 9pm only Facebook friends are welcome in the bar and that we were to old for this crowd anyhow and wouldn’t enjoy it. Mind you I am in my early 40s and my client is in his early 50s. The bartender was very rude about saying this and for no good reason. We were both very well mannered people minding our own business and at this time had only drank less then 2 beers within an hour. Time progressed as we sat at the bar and overheard the bartenders saying something about giving certain unwanted guests to the bar red plastic cups. This appears to be a code of sorts for segregation at this Irish pub. Mind all of my readers that I was likely the only person in the entire establishment of Irish decent, red hair and all. At this point I wanted to politely step out and go someplace else since I was certain that our business was not welcome. My client wanted to stick around strictly to see where this was going and likely make a report to the City offices of San Joaquin. We stuck around quietly for a while longer while my client took notes. At 9pm we made our last order and were given the red cups. Looking around we were certainly 10 years older then the average patron and we were the only persons in the entire pub with red cups. People were giving us strange and weird looks and were encouraged to pay our tab of $ 42 and go. I left a $ 10 tip and didn’t get as much as a thank you or even a heads up look. Things became very uncomfortable as we were lightly encourage to leave. My clients review I am sure would be way more detailed and likely will be. I really wanted this place to be the friendly Irish pub that I saw in the documentary but now know that something here is not right and age discrimination is very alive at this pub. If your over 25 – 30 years old I don’t recommend this place as you will likely get the red cup treatment no matter how much your tip is. I will report back to my readers within a week to let you know how the management handles this review. I am surprised that Stockton allows this kind of establishment. Thanks for reading.

Like a good stiff one? Then this is the place for you. Good drinks, fair prices and surprisingly good food. My favorite is the chicken salad with Guinness dressing. The staff is always friendly and happy to help with menu/drink suggestions. It’s a nice laid back place during the week and can really get going on weekends. One of my favorite places to grab a pint after a rough day at work. Cheers!

Finn’s is pretty cool. It’s definitely one of those bars that, no matter which night you go, you’ll run into someone you know. I wasn’t really a fan when they were at their old location but it seems that the new hub has brought many improvements and much more room to spread out. They’re really good with working with local peeps and organizations to promote stuff for the good of the community. Great food & drink promos. Also, a very safe venue. They won’t let just any old cruster or thug in.

This bad rating is solely dedicated to BECKY, you suck. Maybe it’s because we aren’t regulars, but you know what, my money is as good as anybody else’s. Why haven’t you been fired already??? You are terrible with customer service, the place wasn’t busy and you were slow as a snail on the register. You hardly even checked up on us to after our first round. You kept gravitating towards the regulars even after I had asked to order an appetizer when we ordered out first round. Oh, and stop checking your damn phone there are paying customers here HELLO?! There had never been an instance of bad service here before when we would stop in for a couple rounds and shoot pool for shits n giggles. Finn’s does deserve a better rating than this, but the service just pained sucked tonight… to be continued.

For those who know me, know that I love a good whiskey. And what better place to get your Irish fix on than Finnegan’s on Pacific Ave? This place hosts more than meets the eye. Do not let the simple wooden entry door deter you from the good time Finnegan’s can offer you. There is plenty of outdoor patio seating for those who wish to eat and drink outside, there was flat screen tv’s tucked in the corners around the bar, there are two huge projections on the main floor for you to watch sports, and a billiards room as well. There is plenty of beer on tap, and yes, IPA’s all around! Perfect timing since winter is the season for IPA’s. Also a great selection of bourbons, whiskeys, and everything else your heart contends. Nothing like a double Jame on the rocks with a ginger kicker to start off a great time in this pub! I also love the wall décor. Filled with Irish art, Notre Dame gear, sports memorabilia, and random things collected over the years. What you cannot take away from this place is the friendliness of the staff and it’s supporting cast ready to keep your glasses filled with liquid happiness and to sober you up with good bar food! Do yourself a favor and stop on by when you see this place off Pacific Ave. You will not be disappointed. And bring a small car, not a full sized SUV like me, parking can be tight in the lot and I guarantee if you get faded driving a bus here, you will regret it. Be safe, drink lots, and be smart. LOVEFINNEGANS!
