Food ~$ 15 for Chili dog, Chicago dog, ½ beef sandwich, fries and a drink. I actually liked the beef sandwich more than the dogs. The chili on the dog was nothing special. The Chicago dog was good if only for the somewhat unique toppings. I’m still partial to the Sam’s club /Costco hot dogs. Décor Very clean and lots of personality. Service Excellent service. Got a stamp card! Would I come here again? Nah. I’m too spoiled by $ 1.30 Sams’ club hot dogs and this place was pretty far for me.

The bf ordered the taste of Chicago(Chicago style dog with half an Italian beef sandwich with fries and a drink) while I got the chili dog. The Chicago was yummy, but it wasn’t anything extraordinary. The bright green relish on top def stood out. The half Italian beef sandwich as okay. The au jus sauce that was loaded into the sandwich still didn’t do it much justice as I thought it was somewhat dry and not as flavorful as I would like. The fries that came with the combo was crispy and one of the best fries. I’m picky since some are loaded with too much potato and can get soggy. The chili dog was average. It was a scrawny hot dog with chili dumped atop. Nothing too special about it. Our friend ordered the same combo but just ended up only liking the au jus sauce saying it was legit since he had it separated from his sandwich. He liked the Chicago, but it wasn’t a wowing experience. A pretty decent place for a quick grab. A reg Chicago dog $ 3.30(?) by itself isn’t too bad. Parking was pretty plentiful so this isn’t an issue.

Decent experience here. I bookmarked this place and have wanted to try it for a while. this is definitely a good place to go to for a quick bite. I orders the hot dog with chili and slaw. it was really tasty and exactly what I wanted and expected. My husband ordered the Chicago dog combo and was completely satisfied. I do have to say the cheese fries was REALLY cheesy. it is definitely for a cheese lover. Next time, I plan to get the cheese on the side if that is possible.

Good food, friendly service and great prices! Best place in Atlanta area to get a hotdog. Chicago dog is actually like the one you get in Chicago.

I ordered the chili cheese dog with Kraut and a ½ Italian beef sandwich. Hot dogs were just okay. Toppings cost extra on the sandwich, but not the hotdogs.? ?? The beef on the sandwich was really dry. Nice Chicago themed restaurant. Service was great just the food wasn’t worth it.

This place isn’t Portillo’s up in Chicago but it’s pretty darn close when you figure it’s in Suwanee, GA. Had the Italian Beef and the Smoked beef sausage. Good eats and the folks are friendly.

Decided to come here for lunch because it’s so close to home. Didn’t really expect a hot dog joint to be that great, and my expectations were correct. I ordered the«Taste of Chicago Combo» off the Specials board. It included a regular sized dog, ½ of an Italian Beef Sandwich, fries, and a fountain drink. You can choose whatever dog you want, with whatever toppings. I got the chili cheese dog with onions added. The lady at the counter asked me if I wanted hot peppers on the italian beef sandwich, and I said no. Then she asked me if I wanted sweet peppers, I said sure. Then she asked me if I wanted cheese, I said sure. There was no mentioning that this would mean upcharges, which I didn’t realize had happned until checking my receipt after I left. Not that an additional 85 cents is breaking the bank, but I feel like it should have been mentioned that it would cost more. Anyways, I liked the hot dog bun. Bread was soft, and it had poppyseeds. The hot dog wasn’t anything special, the chilli, cheese, and onions didn’t do much for it. The Italian Beef Sandwich was dry and tasteless. I didn’t bother to finish it. Dipping it in the Au Jus helped a little. Fries were ok. I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2 because the guy that brought us our food was really nice and while we were dining, a couple people came around to all the tables to make sure everyone was doing okay and see if anybody needed anything.

Great hot dog restaurant featuring Chicago style dogs and sausages. What? Don’t like a Chicago dog? They also have some great southern classics. Chili slaw or cheese dogs and many others. Italian beef sandwiches and great au jus for dipping. Good fries and slaw. Friendly staff and fast service. I had the Maxwell street Polish sasuage with pickles and hot peppers. Excellent! I will return to try the beef sandwiches. They also have burgers but what fool orders a burger with all this to offer ;-))

I’m not the biggest fan of hot dogs, but since it’s right across the street from a local park I visit, I stopped in after my park adventures on a weekday afternoon. I ordered off of their daily special menu, which changes frequently, and has several selections. This menu selection in particular was a half Italian beef sandwich soaked in their au jus sauce(but you could get the au jus on the side if you wanted to dip it), one Chicago style dog, a side of fries and a soda. A ton of food for sure that I got for about $ 9 because they had a Unilocal 10% off check in deal! Yay for being Unilocal friendly! The Italian beef sandwich was just okay. I think maybe I was pumped over the description of the sandwich from the staff and expected more flavor than what I got, but the strips of beef were pretty tender, not dry, not stringy, and with the sauce soaked sandwich, almost melted in your mouth. The Chicago style dog is ultimately topped the way you want it, but it comes with onions, spicy relish, mustard, tomato and a large pepper. The hotdog bun was super soft, although the hotdog itself was simply okay as well. No gimmicks with the fries, so no curly or crinkle cut… just your straight cut fries, seasoned well, and not too greasy. Pretty tasty! Customer service was pretty helpful, nice and fast, and the store is clean with several tables for sitting. There’s absolutely nothing bad/wrong about Lucky dog. The fries are good, the customer service is great, and they’re definitely Unilocal friendly but the hotdog and sandwich I had were simply okay to me. If you love Chicago style dogs, check these guys out

I never thought I would find an Italian Beef sandwich outside of Chicago, and certainly not one worth it’s weight in giardiniera! But alas, who would have thought you could wander into a little place in Suwanee, GA and feel like you’ve been transported to Chicago! The Italian beef sandwich was delicious and spot on! In addition, the Chicago hot dog was definitely true to the city. If you want a taste of Chicago, this place is well worth finding!

I wanted to give 4.5 stars but since this is not an option I went with 5 cause the good so far out weighed the bad, only real bad was cheese sauce for fries was cold. I have been twice and can say they do it all right, I mean everything. Have tried grilled and fried dogs and sausge, beef is amazing so far have been no misses. Only real issue is I havent eaten there enough. Great combo meals as well allowing you to taste a couple things not many places do half a beef sandwhich that is not lacking. So stop barking up the wrong tree and go fetch a meal.

So glad a colleague recommended this place as we were driving by. It’s a bit out of the way so you need to be looking for it on Buford Highway, but well worth the drive if you’re hankering for a really really good hot dog. I went with the Polish /Half Beef combo and asked for the polish dog to be grilled. That’s an option here and I highly recommend it as the time spent on the grill adds some extra bite to the taste. The half beef is a half of an Italian Beef sandwich. The combo also comes with fries, which are admittedly not the best in the world. I didn’t need to eat them anyway as the dog and the sandwich filled me quite fine. Service and food are both outstanding at this no-nonsense restaurant.

This place is awesome. The only negative thing I can say is that they’re not open for dinner! Or 24 hrs a day, for that matter! The Italian Beef is great, but the combinations of hot dogs, sausages and wursts with all the different toppings makes it hard to decide, and everything we tried was great. We’ll be back soon!

Chicago dog in the suburbs of Atlanta? Yes please. Vienna sausage, neon relish, poppyseed buns… Why is it so hard to find these things in the South? Fortunately, Luck Dog has you covered. The Chicago dog is damned near perfect. My one critique is that the pickles weren’t in spear form, but rather in ruffled form. No biggie, just unexpected. Oh, they have plenty of common Chicago dog joint extras(slaw dog, chili dog, pizza puffs, chicken sandwich, hamburgers, etc.), but the reason to come here will always be the Chicago dogs and Italian beef(dry, wet or dipped). Lucky dog nails the Chicago dog experience; just wish they were in a better location. They have plenty of vehicle traffic with Buford highway, but no opportunity for foot traffic. Oh well, hop in the car and get it done right.

Very neat atmosphere surrounded around Chicago. Lady offered me a Wrigley Smokey which I ordered with onion rings. The food was amazing. The dog was cooked just enough with a crunch in the skin. The rings were just dark enough. She said they are working on opening a new location in Johns Creek soon.

Finally, a real Chicago Hot Dog in Gwinnett! This was my third attempt to locate a «real» treat for myself. Spot on! From the Vienna Beef to the Sport Peppers. Like having our own Portillos.

We tried this place the other day — based on reviews — and may return just to give it another shot. Its not close to where we hang out, so we would have to be in the Buford area and willing to give it another try. I considered mentioning something to the owner but didn’t, which is why I’m not completely checking this eatery off my list. This place specializes in Chicago-style and more — a limited menu where getting it right shouldn’t be an issue. I would not order a hamburger here again. The patties were thin and dry and the price did not include cheese(5.99 plus .50 for a slice of cheese). For an additional $ 2.50, I made it a combo which included a drink and fries. Way over-priced. Way. Definitely never ordering a corn dog here again either. The coating was gummy and the thin hot dog inside was snappy. Not sure what that was about. I’ve never had one like that, and that includes every time I’ve ever had a corn dog at a fair or out of the box from the frozen food aisle at WalMart. Maybe the fry grease wasn’t hot enough or the product was old — don’t know. Thought the corn dog was over-priced as well(3.25). About the only thing from this visit that impressed us were the prices. And I don’t mean that in a good way. Be mindful of the«toppings» because those add up. Jury is still out on this place.

The dogs are still top notch and they fixed the soggy fries problem. I’ve been back a bunch of times and the place is consistently good, with friendly staff, good food and quick service. If you’re missing Chicago dogs, or just want to try one for the first time, there’s no better place. If only they could get some dish pizza here, I’d be all set.

My husband and I visited this great new spot for lunch today. I had a chili cheese dog with kraut and a side of cheese fries. My husband had a Chicago Style hot dog and the Italian beef wet with gardenaire. Everything was super delicious and very authentic. From the Vienna beef dogs to the neon green relish. The atmosphere is cute with bright red walls filled with pics of Chicago teams, the Blues Brothers and other Chicago greats. Yum, check it out!
