So much for getting a burger anytime anyway you want it. Husband was about to head to work so I figured Burger King would be his meal for the day. Stopped by 10am and wanted see what promotions were available. Because the breakfast menu was listed, I asked if they could switch board to the main hamburger menu. Since the board will not rotate so the cashier manager recited what all I could order. I tried to bring up BK website on husband’s cell phone and found out you had to load a BK app — ain’t got time for that LOL! — so I opted for two combo bacon cheeseburger whoppers to go requesting use of a paper BK coupon. I saw later that I was charged anyway for two bacon cheeseburger whoppers combos totaling $ 17!!! For that price I could have just gone to Red Robins and took him his lunch for much better meal. Oh well!

No, Grampy has not gotten senile or gone all food-fast culture or any of that. What happened here is that Mrs. Grampy and I had a need for a quick lunch, which, in my head, means cheap lunch. What’s the use of putting out the buck$ for something you’re gonna scarf up AND leave a tip for? The Whopper Junior(meat, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sesame seed bun) Combo, which includes fries and a drink, is $ 3.99. We giddily ordered our WJ’s with cheese, and plopped down $ 8.44 for TWO meals. So, why the 4 stars, stingy old Grampy man? We were in such a hurry that my wife left her purse behind when we rushed out. An hour later, we realized the absence of the purse, had a collective heart attack, called the BK in a lather, and were cheerily told by the tiny little cashier that«Yes, we have it!» How do you say«Thank You!» enough for such an honest and ethical staff? Four stars on Unilocal for a beginning, email of praise to The Burger King himself next, and delivery of a token of affection tomorrow should be good beginnings.
