Just do it. This place is great. Locally owned. Fresh made. Great, great food. Been here several times. Tried many items. All are tasty and homemade. Had the chicken wrap today. It was super fresh and tasty. I’m going back asap. Give it a shot, you won’t regret it.

Came here and had the Chicago dog and the«usual burger» both were tasty especially the Chicago dog which i would rate alone 5 out of 5. The burger meat was a little tough, most likely due to being overcooked but all in all i would definitely eat again

My tastebuds have no issues eating here. Great non-chain local haunt. Give the owner a chance and enjoyed a great burger or dog but pass on the onion rings.

Top notch burger joint. Hot dogs and breakfast too. Relaxed environment with cold beer and tvs. We really dig it. The road construction is pretty bad but the food is worth it for sure. Patronize this place and help support a true family business.

I’m so glad we found this place. I really hope the construction out front finishes soon. I think it is really impacting business. Best burgers and hot dogs around.

That’s just crazy good. Great Italian sausage. Great red-skin hot link with a good smoky flavor. Chili(not sauce) spicy and warm just like I make it(nearly a mole). Thick crunchy fresh made potato chips. The sauce on the Godfather(and at the table) works perfect with this without being too sweet.

This place is great! The atmosphere is nice and clean yet warm and laid back. I’ve been looking a long time for a good hot dog place within a reasonable distance from my home and this place has it. In fact, it’s the best dog in the metroplex. I thought of ordering two hot dogs on my first visit but glad I didn’t as one was plenty filling. My wife and I both got the Texas Chili Cheese Dog made with a red hot. It was a little too spicy for her but oh so good for me. She too wants to go back soon but will know better how to order next time. They even have a Chicken Fried Burger on the menu! What place does that?! My instinct tells me not to venture there yet my interest is piqued. There are so many items on their menu that I want to try that I’m not sure what to get next. That’s a good thing! The only drawback to this place is the current road construction of Main Street. During rush hour, traffic is very congested along this road. Sometimes though you find a place worth the drive and this one is.

Love this place! Their breakfast is awesome, their chicken bacon wrap is awesome, their fries are great, burger is great, jalapeño ranch is delicious and their homemade potato chips are great! They have plenty options for breakfast and/or lunch and it’s decently priced. Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Excellent place to get a sandwich, hot dog or a breakfast burrito. My favorite is the breakfast burrito with brisket. Absolutely delicious. They are also accommodating, they re serving breakfast stuff after the traditional breakfast window is over. Big ups for a small business that gets IT! The Reuben is also really solid. Burgers are OK, a little disappointing frankly, way too much bread to meat ration.

With a menu as vast as Papi’s, it will be a year’s challenge to sample everything. Yes, the handwritten blackboard menu is an intimidating, multi-board-spanning dizzying mess – but don’t let that stop you from trying something new. For some who like to stick to tried and true, you can customize your hot dog, burger, or sandwich to your liking with an exhaustive list of meats, toppings, buns and condiments.(Ghost pepperjack? Mango salsa? Sriracha horsey sauce? Oh my!) Papi’s Red Hots is a hidden gem in The Colony; don’t let the roadway construction hinder you in visiting one of the best burger joints north of 121. My recommendations: The Longhorn burger and the Ghost Dog!

Excellent burger joint! It’s not Kenny’s, but it’s good. Food is fresh and burgers are not frozen, and their prize-winning chili is homemade. We arrived at 4:30pm on a Saturday and only had to share the restaurant with three other tables. Our food arrived quickly, and we dug in. I had the Bleu Bacon burger with sweet potato fries, my boyfriend had the Shiner Coney dog, both had excellent flavor. Be aware that portions are huge, we could have easily shared either entrée and still left food on the table. Our order came to $ 25, so it’s a little pricey but we think it is worth it.

My first visit here nets a 4.5 star rating, dangerously close to being over the top. After reading the rave reviews, I came in search of a «gussied up» hot dog of some sort. Having looked over the menu in advance, I was torn between the«Big D» featuring BBQ brisket, or the«Texas Chili Cheese Dog». I asked my order taker which she’d recommend, and her immediate response was the chili cheese dog. Who am I to say no? I ordered it and sweet potato fries to go. Digging in back at the office, the sweet potato fries were above average, by themselves and with ketchup, but the ‘dog was really the star. Served on a lightly poppy seeded bun, it had a nice balance of chili and cheese atop the signature«Red Hot» hot link. I loved the flavor of the hot link, but strangely, I felt myself wanting it to be a bit more greasy! It could have used a little more moisture, be it water or fat based, but again, it couldn’t be beat for flavor and its modest heat. The chili was a meaty, thick affair that would probably make a good bowl by itself. The chopped onions and cheese added even more awesome flavor to this nice meal. All in all, this was a very good experience, and I’ll be sure to try something else from Papi’s soon. Definitely give this place a try if you’re wanting some quality hot dog action.

WHAT A GREATNEWFIND! We Came in late on Sunday wanting to try this hot dog/burger joint out. It turned out to be a great choice! Food is freshly made, served quickly off the grill and all for low price! I tried their version of the Chicago dog, the Untouchable, and a usual burger. The hot link was the star of the hot dog and it had all the necessary Chicago style fixins. The burger was a fresh beef patty dressed the usual way, but what was the highlight of the burger was the bun. My fiancé and I could only come up with guessing it was some type of Hawaiian roll. It was very sturdy and lightly grilled, but light enough to compliment the burger. My fiancé had the hogs eye burger with the smoked link and pulled pork with BBQ sauce, another solid choice, especially with their own sweet BBQ sauce. This is a place that does things simply, but does them all right. It will definitely be a place we will revisit soon!

This establishment is decent when I walked in they were having a problem with the register so it took them about five min before they took my order which was ok because while standing there the menu is enormous. They serve hot dogs, burgers, deli and salads. Now I got the Ghost Dog which was a Italian sausage with smoke pulled pork and mango salsa. Now I don’t like hot food but the mango salsa was hot but not hot enough where it was burning your Just enough hot for flavor. I don’t like the fact that the napkins are not at the table but paper towel rolls are located at the front where you pick up your food. The price is reasonable for my hot dog and chips and lemonade I paid $ 10. So the prices to me are perfect. They do serve beer. But I am not a beer drinker. They have tv’s through out the establishment. They have booths and low and high tables. For you outsiders you have a choice to eat outside as well but I was bought up in Texas and we don’t do outside in June, July, and August. I would return to this place again.

Yum! Yum! Yum! We found Papi’s on Unilocal after spending a couple hours at Nebraska Furniture Mark. They have a huge variety of dogs(hot dogs), as well as hamburgers and wraps. I had the bacon queso burger, and it was amazing! It’s nice having a hamburger where they actually use fire to grill the burgers. My girlfriend had the Texas Red Hot Dog and she fell in love. We would definitely frequent this place more if we didn’t live in Aledo. If we are ever out this way again, we will return!

I can see why people might view this restaurant as 4.5 stars, however I did not find it to be the case whenever I visited. I had the Big D Burger with a side of fries. The patty itself was good and the bread they use is really soft. Where this burger fell short for me was the brisket. The brisket was extremely beefy, not in a good way. It tasted really old and they tried to mask the old tasting meat flavor with bbq sauce. Even though I tossed out the brisket, it didn’t sit well with me for the rest of the meal. Secondly the fries were really soggy and oily. Again, this indicates to me that they had been sitting out for a while. I was pretty hungry so I went ahead and stomached the whole thing anyway. Overall I think this place has some good potential, but maybe I just came in on a bad day, who knows.

Love love love Papi’s! Sure, the price is a little high, but you won’t leave hungry! I usually just order a burger and barely finish it. Most burger joints fulfill your flavor needs, but Papi’s makes a delicious AND beautiful sandwich. Before digging in last time, I noticed how neatly the lettuce was arranged and how eye-catching the whole thing was. In addition, I like that they revitalized a Wendy’s instead of building new.
