No more dark chocolate latte’s which was my favorite drink. What you can ask for is a Mocha Latte w chocolate syrup and its close to the real thing. The small grocery store outlets still have the cocoa powder but the coffee bean has discontinued it so when they run out all gone forever.

A group of 3 of us walked in at 920 pm we ordered a vanilla ice blended drink, a hazelnut blended drink, and a dream latte. After about 15 minutes waiting with no other people in the establishment continuing to purchase drinks after us we began to wonder how long they took to make? We asked each other out loud finally and as I stood up to go ask the cashier she just said oh your thinks have been ready … really? I would know if you called out my order instead of pursing a casual conversation with another customer. The table where we sat at was also dirty with bread crumbs and drippings of other people’s drinks on it. Don’t get me wrong the drinks are great but this location wasn’t up to par with all the other coffee shops there are.

I came in on saturday night(1|9|16) the two employees working at 5 pm– a guy and a girl, they were absolutely amazing! Recommened drinks for me and definitely made an effort to socialize not just take my order. They were also so friendly. Thank you guys!

First time here: In a studying kind of mood: FYI — closing time is incorrect. New closing time is 10p. Not sure how to fix that typo. Getting a warm drink to warm up from this semi-cold weather. A little bit helps the soul. But now, we got notified cbtl is closing at 930. Uhm, what is the correct time. Get it together Unilocal… and I just got comfortable.

I love Coffee Bean– just not this location. Worst Chai Tea Lattes ever! All milk, not enough tea and way too hot. I couldn’t even taste it before I arrived at work, so I couldn’t give it back to them to fix. Poured it out into a cup and seriously NOTEA, ALLMILK. I added my own tea bag to it, just to have something for breakfast. Waste of $. This has happened twice now, in the morning when I am in a hurry. By the way, the baristas are very nice, but too slow and can’t make a Chai Latte at all. Going back to Corner Bakery in the mornings, good tea, price and fast service. All other Coffee Beans, see you when I see ya! Crenshaw Blvd. location… please reteach baristas how to make a Chai Tea Latte properly. Thanks

This coffee bean NEEDS A CHANGINGTABLEINTHERESTROOM!!! My husband had to get creative and change her in the sink. For the people that have kids, you know exactly how hard that can be!!! The coffee and service was fine.

Today at 3:20pm I purchased items with an older $ 20 dollar bill and was told that her manager would not accept it because they don’t accept $ 20 bills with the smaller faces any longer… And that I needed another method of payment. My $ 20 was given to me from Chase Bank and is still in circulation but apparently it’s not good enough for this location… Money turned away… Not counterfeit just older??? You have lost my business and hopefully others too. Luckily I did have other money but it would really suck if this was all someone else had and you turned them away! Shame on this manager!

I always appreciated how CBTL made good quality coffee. This CBTL is no different. Baristas are attentive and give you great quality coffee that you come to expect from CBTL. The interior has a bunch of tables spread out along with a 8 seat table in the middle. It does get rather crowded after 2pm and sometimes it is hard to get a table. There is also a patio along the side overlooking Crenshaw Blvd. But the noise from all the cars make is somewhat bothersome. Overall: Serves good quality CBTL coffee that we’ve come to enjoy. But can get pretty busy in the afternoon, which makes it tough to grab a table. Outside patio can be noisy with all the traffic

Good coffee, nice staff, wi-fi is good and free. But… their bathroom. Sigh. It needs to be cleaned, guys. Like, a full on sanitized and disinfected clean. This is the second time coming in the last week and honestly it smells the exact same — sweaty nasty body-odor man balls. Like for real, it smells like the perineum of a gross sweaty man, with a strong hint of pee. The last time I was here, there were dribblings of pee all over the floor in about a 1 foot diameter of the toilet, and combined with sweaty balls stench, it wasn’t pleasant in the least. This time coming here, there is less pee on the ground(I’m coming at 10:30AM vs. 3PM). The thing I noticed is the lack of a cleaning log on the door, like most businesses with bathrooms. I’m used to seeing a checkoff list and signature/initials indication that the bathroom had been cleaned that day, and there is no such list anywhere to be found in this bathroom. I can’t in good confidence imagine that they are actually doing this every day, since there is no public display of accountability posted here. Makes sense if the place reeks of shame. I’d like to keep coming here to work on my blog and to finish up whatever business needs to be tended to while sipping a pumpkin spice iced coffee, but may choose a different CBTL to do so, if this place doesn’t start raising their cleanliness standards. Doesn’t it make sense for an institution that sells food and beverage to have a clean bathroom? I would more expect this from a busy location like the Third Street Promenade where there are hobos galore, but here in the Lomita/Torrance area, I expect it to be maintained quite a bit better.

This is the best CBTL location I have been to, especially since during my surgical internships I had no choice but to go into other locations at times. One time in Beverly Hills(that location is a whole new review) I actually ran into Eric the manager and he very well knows I am picky about my drink… with that said Eric and his staff at this location are ALL amazing. I have been in enough times in the day I am sure even the new staff knows me by now. The way they treat their customers, and how they remember their frequent ones is beyond a 5 star rating. The facility is always clean, the staff is always smiling, I can honestly say I have never gotten my order«wrong» and sometimes I can be a bit complicated so that to me says a lot.

The coffee bean is great however for some reason this location doesn’t open until 6AM which is fine if you have the luxury of sleeping in like most of the rich bastards in this area however I’m just a contractor who has to work in the area and can’t get my coffee earlier than 6AM it’s 545 and I’m waiting outside. I don’t like to write a bad review but opening a coffee shop at 6AM is like closing a movie theater early on Friday night it just doesn’t make any sense.

When I was a boy many moons ago, I remember going to the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Pasadena with my mother where she bought her coffee by the pound. I’ve always loved the smell of coffee – but, I hate the taste. As an adult, I became a tea drinker. This CBTL is where I buy my favorite drink – iced tea. This establishment is flawlessly managed by Eric – he is competent, professional, & always cordial. He has put together an incredible crew that mirror his ethics & are all proficient at their job. My current drink of choice is the Assam iced tea. They have the best butter croissants I’ve ever had – but, rarely have them, for I’d be 300 lbs. Their selection of teas & wonderful bakery items far exceed the competition that seem to be on every corner in every city around. I wish there were more CBTL stores around. So Eric, I salute your crew & you for providing me with a wonderful delectable Assam iced tea most days of the week – it always makes my day more pleasurable. 08.08.15 I just want to make mention of a crew member who stands out as extraordinary – the captivating Zara. 08.11.15 I would be remiss without mentioning the vivacious Sarah – she always has an upbeat positive attitude. She is an incredible asset.

Gotta say I love Coffee Bean! There drinks are the best. I like how smooth the coffee is and especially the blended drinks. My staple for blended is to get a Half Mocha/Half Vanilla blended, its amazing! This particular Coffee Bean is really great! It’s a really chill atmosphere, great seating inside and out and the staff is always really friendly. It’s got pretty quick internet as well. We always come here for our weekly meetings from Brood 9 Martial Arts to plan out our workouts and more. It’s super close to our Brood 9 Gym as well which is awesome, so we always pick this as our place to go for coffee. Can’t beat it! Great environment, great coffee, great people!

Wow, ROCKTHEHOUSE… this is MY900th UnilocalREVIEW!!! I’ve always been a fan of CBTL because its a California chain(I like to support the local places), and their coffee is better than the Mermaid. If only CBTL had more locations, I’d frequent this chain more. Now that CBTL has FINALLY introduced their payable app(available only at limited LA County locations) my frequency may start changing. For every 40 points, I can get free stuff, which is about the same as the 12 drinks I need at the Mermaid to get my «free» reward. Unfortunately this location did not accept the app. What they did offer me is when I loaded a $ 25 or greater gift card, I got a free drink of my choice. So I loaded a $ 25 card and got myself a soy latte for free! Also, CBTL rewards their customers by giving a free drink with purchase of a bag of coffee beans or a tin of tea. They are also having a promotion where you buy a select«SUPPORTTHETROOPS» label of coffee or tea, they donate a portion of the sale to help rehabilitate veterans. I purchased a tin of tea, and was rewarded with a free drink. Win-win! They also have Free wifi, nice staff, and a MUCH wider selection of teas and sugar free condiments, like liquid sugar free sweetener. Things like this makes this place more favorable than the Mermaid. But, until there’s more locations, I will still stop at the Mermaid.

I love CBTL! I wrote a review about 2 years ago and everything I said then holds true today. Here are some new drink recommendations though. If you want something for the hot summer days, grab a blood orange sweet iced tea. It is delicious! The pear berry is a little too sweet for me. The ice blended is also a good choice. The pomegranate blueberry is good to quench something on the frosty side. For those of you early morning risers, the iced vanilla latte is amazing! I must have had one 4 out of the 7 days this past week alone. There practically addicting. The egg and salmon prepacked snacks are great too according to my friend who also frequents CBTL a lot. «I go to CBTL every day that ends in a ‘Y’. Truer words never written.

I have to say that I came in craving a chai tea latte, but then I saw a seasonal new drink on the menu and just had to try it: Winter dream tea latte! I asked the barista what it was, and he took a jar of the tea bags and opened it up to let me smell… because the smell and resulting taste was indescribable. Fragrant, aromatic, kind of sweet and spicy… the whole thing just smelled like Christmas! And the light, creamy, foamy drink was simply delicious. :) I was really happy with my order. Great spontaneous purchase!
