Beautiful scenery and nice selection of wines. Staff didn’t seem as knowledgable about their various wines compared to other local wineries but overall still a nice place to visit

Apparently the servers are incapable of handling more than one party at once, even if it’s just two people. There’s a sign that says wait until waived to the bar. No «we’ll be right with you» communication” to the customers. This leads to a long line of confused, irritated customers who have to wait for an inordinate amount of time. If they have this policy either they’ll enjoy making less or need more bartenders. There’s tons of space at the tables and ten people behind us who’ll be waiting half an hour. All other wineries in the area have people who can accommodate. Very good wines otherwise.

Wonderful place! After visiting another winery down the road, an employee there recommend Château Chantal because of their extensive choice of wines and the great views. Boy, was she right! The tasting room itself is bustling, with lots of wine paraphernalia for sale, which was a little cheesy, however they do sell chocolates, cheese, and meat trays to go along with the wine. Six tastings cost $ 3, which was a bargain. After liking the majority of the ones I tasted, I bought a glass and sat on the huge patio overlooking the vineyards with East Bay in the distance. Standing at the front door/parking lot, you can see West Bay in the distance, so this place definitely has the location factor. Although we were there much too early for sunset, I saw that they have jazz on the patio on Thursdays until 9:30(sunset time). I would highly recommended visitors do this, or at the least stop by for a visit!

We visited this Vineyard on our 6 stop tour for a bachlorette party. We pre-paid for 16 people and we’re shuffled around, waited in line for about 20 minutes before we were told that they couldn’t serve us because they couldn’t find our receipt/reservation. Bill was the manager and berated his hostess, who was incredibly sweet, in front of everyone and was very condescending when ‘addressing’ our issue. We requested to be refunded so hopefully that will happen.

Wish I could give zero stars. They don’t even deserve the 1 star. Worst service! Stayed at the inn in the past but came up for wine tasting with a group and was treated terribly! Will never be back and will let all friends and family know that they should explore different wineries and skip Chantal! Wine isn’t good either so their service should make up for it! Very disappointing!!!

Great view, great wines, friendly tasting room bartender. Didn’t have the cozy atmosphere that some other wineries have, but would definitely stay at the Inn in the summer. A must-go-to winery.

My favorite winery in Traverse City! One of the biggest wineries we’ve tried in Traverse City and the view from the outdoor seating area is gorgeous. They have a good list of white, red and sparkling wine and their sweeter wines were very enjoyable. Their sparkling Rose Wine, ‘Celebrate’ is wonderful and I ended up buying a bottle($ 15). If there is a long line for wine tasting, you can opt to just get a glass of wine and enjoy it outside. They also had a small wine bar outside when I visited around July. I wish this place had more snacks to enjoy with a glass of wine. They have a small cheese and cracker board in the fridge, but it just doesn’t look that great. They seem to host various events such as wine classes, tours, wine dinners. Since the view is so great, I would love to try their Wine dinner and enjoy the sunset.

Decent place for a wine tour, but not my favorite in the area, by far. Gorgeous outdoor setting. One deck-top fire pit was lit while we were there on a beautiful December day. Commercial bus tours available for groups. Packages available to include tastings/tours/dinner. Wine by the glass options to sip inside or out. Snacks and bottled wine, along with souvenirs available for purchase. Restrooms were dated and staff was not interested in making us feel welcome, nor our purchases important.

Enjoyed the Bed & Breakfast! Spent the weekend with my siblings and their spouses, 9 of us from multiple states, and felt like the place was all ours. From the endless wine to the peaceful fireplace. The weather was variable from hail to sun, which didn’t matter as the décor and the view were so relaxing and beautiful. The staff is gracious and the food is excellent! We all enjoyed it so much, we have decided to make it a yearly event.

We waited about twenty minutes for a tasting. Tasting were about $ 3 per person and you select the half dozen wines you would like to try. Parking was limited compared to the crowd of cars. A more commercial feel to this tasting room. There is Avery nice outdoor patio with beautiful views. He wines were good. Servers were pleasant and willing to share insider info.

It started with poor quality wine stewart service. There was no explanation on wine selection. Wine glasses were given to us steaming hot out of the dish washer. My Riesling was served room temperature, bathroom was dirty with flies swarming by the toilet tissue and sink. To boot, I asked for a glass to drink my water and I was told to «drink out of the box» in a stern voice.

This is one of our favorite wineries in the Traverse City area. The views from the top of the hill is fabulous and utterly amazing! You can see both East and West bays. We had a day where it was partly cloudy and the sun with the shadows of the clouds reflecting off the water was just beautiful. Inside they have a big tasting room and moderately large gift room. From the back of the tasting room, they have lots of windows so you can see the beautiful view of the bay. Wow! It is truly stunning! The wines they have here are refreshing. We really like the Naughty White and the Pinot Grigio. Both are very light, slightly sweet and fresh to the palate. The NW won a few awards too! We bought two bottles of that one. On Saturday’s, it is super busy here with wine bus tours coming and going. We had a hard time hearing our bartender’s remarks of the different wines we tasted. Overall, this place is grand. Enjoy those views!

If you think this is good wine or a good wine tasting experience, you are sadly misinformed. Don’t need to be herded around like cattle, given tokens, or look at a list of 40 wines(that’s too many to make any of them well). The view is about all they have going for them.

Drove quite a distance to this winery after hearing it was an area Facebook favorite. Walked in, saw a sign that said«wait here until waved to the tasting area». Waited, moved out of the way of waiters coming and going numerous times, was never acknowledged by anyone, even the employees we moved for. After around 15 – 20 minutes we left I can’t remember ever having been so thoroughly ignored at a retail venue.

They have really great wines. The tasting is $ 3 for 6 samples which is a great deal. But the staff isn’t as friendly or attentive as I’d have liked. The man that did our tasting was knowledgeable and nice, but he seemed a bit blasé about the whole thing. It was also loud in there, which I don’t really like in a winery environment. Overall ambiance I was not very impressed with, but I would definitely stop in to try the wine.

Beautiful views of traverse bay area. The winery tour is ok but the terrace area to sit and do tastings is beautiful. This place came highly recommended. The wine was meh so the recommendation is mostly for the scenery.

If you are a red wine drinker this is the place for you. The staff is knowledge in their wines and know what to pour and when. They had one of the best cab francs in old mission. Their winery is stunning located on a hill with a great view. They have some whites that were dry and very good. They also had a tart cherry that was not sweet and would be good on a summer day. I enjoyed the wine here and the people.

Come here for the view from atop the peninsula. You’ve got the lake, vineyards, and trees(great during fall) on both the east and west, nice scenery as you take in a glass or two of their wines. It was crowded both times we’ve been there, this time especially so. The wait looked to be 30 mins or more for the tasting, so we just opted to get a glass in the patio. Try the Late Harvest Riesling.

Have visited the winery here 3 times, enjoying the vistas and the vintage each time. Photos I took here actually hang in my home because of the splendid views. Our favorite wine is their Chantal Noir, which is infused with cherry brandy. Yum! One of these times we will do the bed and breakfast option.

Do you know what I enjoy? Wine tastings where I’m not encouraged to drink the fruit flies in my wine glass as protein. That unfortunately was not the case here. There were fruit flies all over the place. I don’t particularly enjoy having them in my face, but I understand that they’re a pain to get rid of. While trying to do the wine tasting though, three pours from the same bottle had 4 dead fruit flies floating around in it, then three, then one. So then there’s obviously fruit flies in the wine bottle even if it has a stopper in it though, right? I first thought to myself, hey, grape skins in the wine, interesting I’ve never had that before. Looked in my glass and there were the little buggers ughhh. The lady helping us with the tasting told me it was protein though, and said she couldn’t really do anything about it. I then opted not to continue with the tasting, and had a glass of wine on the terrace instead. The terrace is beautiful, with a view of the bay, and it was so nice and relaxing outside on a gorgeous day. WAAAY better than having to worry about swallowing some flies or having some fly up my nose. Also, the other three wineries we went to that day didn’t have as much of a fruit fly problem as Château Chantal. Just saying.
