4 stars…5 stars… teeter…totter…OK…FIVESTARS PY Steakhouse outclasses any steakhouse in Tucson. The food is always excellent and the service incredible. I’ve had several dishes at PY and I highly recommend the scallops over anything else. They are served at the perfect temperature and firmness but then you glide a knife through one and realize it’s almost buttery soft inside. The taste is incredible with just the perfect amount of sea salt cooked in to the scallops. Seriously the best scallops I can remember having in a very, very long time. We recently tried the saffron seafood chowder that is covered in a great big puff pastry. This dish is not only impressive in appearance but so full of scallops, crab and lobster along with corn and potatoes that it could be a meal in itself. And tasty too! I really don’t think you can go wrong with any dish at PY. The service is absolutely impeccable. We’ve been lucky enough to have the same server each time we’ve been to PY. Daniel(oh boy, now I’m not entirely sure on his name and may have to edit this once I verify) is attentive, knowledgeable, and never intrusive. He has an all knowing eye and knows exactly how long to wait before approaching to make sure your meal is perfect. This young man is worthy of much praise and is a big part of why PY is such a great experience for me.

I have to say PY Steakhouse really holds up, time after time. I came with two friends for our holiday get together, on December 30. It was Wednesday and we all had the prime rib special. Each entrée was cooked the way we requested. Service was excellent. Thanks Phillip! We hope to see you soon.

This was our third delicious dinner at PY’s. The first, a few years ago, knocked our socks off: we had fortuitously stumbled on to their prime rib special Wednesday night. $ 19 each for some of the best food and wine we’d had in the area. Our second visit was almost as good. This dinner, on a Thursday, was fantastic as well. We both had the Scottish salmon. Tender, delicately flavored, great mouth feel. I had a wedge salad the size of three wedge salads, so shared with Hubs. Deeelicious. He had a side of asparagus and shared. More yummy. An amuse bouche was served. I believe a slice of camembert topped a jam and was served on a small toast. The cheese would have been more savory at room temp. We find the presentation of three small dips of various salt pleasing and fun. The great service was old school attentive and we found that fun as well. And of course critically important, whether old school or modern. The dining room is cozy and luxurious feeling without appearing overdone. The music was appropriate and added to the experience. Unlike other reviewers, we could not tell we were in a casino. Fine wine choices always add to the experience. Both his Malbec and my Chard were tasty. Bottom line: two entrees, one salad, one side and 3 glasses of wine plus tip brought us close to $ 120. We will dine here every time we spend the night at Hacienda del Sol.

Well I decided to come to the py steak house for Thanksgiving dinner thought it would be a great way to enjoy not cooking a meal and having a house full of people I myself have a service dog and I always decide not to bring the dog inside the restaurant due to having ample help to help me get into the restaurant but going into a restaurant and seeing someone serve their pet at the table of a five star restaurant is just disgusting and when you tell your server and they just shrug their shoulders and said yes I know how you feel and nothing is being done about it just sickens me this is not allowed and is never allowed only service dogs underneath the table should be allowed in any restaurant and when a person like myself who is disabled take that courtesy and decides not to bring their Animal into the restaurant and then to sit across from someone who is feeding their dog which is a pet in their lap at the table just really disgust me and I feel that something should be done are the restaurants that have stepped in and said something especially at the price is that you pay to eat there, and yes I have picture’s.

superb food, and not terribly expensive compared to other hotel steakhouses. Service was friendly and attentive, and the courses were perfectly timed. My steak was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, the Pork Belly appetizer was delicious, and my wife’s braised short ribs truly didn’t suck. A large meal for 2, with drinks, came out to about $ 150. I’ll be back, for sure.

This is a great place to go when you want to eat like a high-roller! It’s sort of a fancy place, with table cloths that are brown instead of white, and they clean the bread crumbs off after you’ve eaten the main course. I know Tucson is casual, but some people were wearing shorts and U of A t-shirts. With the prices and quality of the food here, I wish the public would try a little harder to look nice. My only disappointment on this visit is that they had sold out of the Cowboy aged dry rub rib-eye 22oz. steak that I had been craving since my last visit. Instead, we tried the 18 oz. Kansas City dry rub strip steak– it was still good, and husband says, it is perfectly pink throughout– love it medium rare. Still, I yearn for the cowboy… We also had the pan-seared scallops and they were pretty good, cooked perfectly. We paired the wine specials, which were a Cab and a Chardonnay, both $ 11. What also makes this place high on the star chart is the gourmet salts that arrive at the table with a variety of breads. We had the chocolate bread pudding for desert, which I would prefer just the delicious ice cream. They have a fine dessert cart that I would like to meet again! Our waiter was knowledgeable, polite, and very professional. Thank-you, Oscar!

PY Steakhouse is pretty good. The people are always friendly and the food is fantastic. My Girlfriend said the Lobster Tail was pretty good as well. Our Server started off slow, however by the end she worked her way up to a great Server. Food great, overpriced but great. The ambience is really nice as well. Go on to Living Social before coming out here, save yourself $ 40, just a tip. Give them a try if you happen to be out this way.

How have I missed this place? We were at the Casino for a concert last week and while roaming around we noticed PY Steakhouse. After looking at the menu and later checking the reviews, we decided to give it a try. I haven’t had great prime rib in a long time so the Wednesday night special sounded like a good option. We made a reservation and arrived on time. We were seated almost immediately. The service was wonderful from the start and throughout. Our server made suggestions and answered questions. She gave us just the right amount of attention. I was intrigued by the sound of the escargot and I wasn’t disappointed. The escargot were not stuffed back into shells as they commonly are. They were in a sauce of pernod, creamy pistou, and micro fennel and accompanied by toasted baguettes. My boyfriend commented more than once that if the appetizer was just the sauce and toasted bread it would have been well worth it because it was so delicious. My boyfriend ordered the wedge salad, which I sampled and it was wonderful. Everything was fresh and instead of serving a quarter of a head of lettuce, there were three smaller wedges, all perfectly topped with Maytag bleu cheese, bacon, heirloom cherry tomatoes, avocado purée, boiled egg, and scallions. It was a generous serving and it was delicious. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the bread. Just after we were seated we received a basket of bread. There were three types of small rolls; sourdough, pretzel, and a jalapeño cheese. It also included savory bread sticks and it was served with honey butter. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet with our prime rib entrees. Our server asked us if we would like to order the $ 4 glass that came with the special and when we declined, she brought us a sample just to be sure since it was less expensive. When our entrees arrived they were impressive. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. I ordered mine rare and although it was rare and as soft as butter in the middle, the edges were slightly crisp and perfectly seasoned. It practically melted in my mouth. It was served with grilled brussel sprouts that had other vegetables mixed with them. They were not over cooked so they were firm and flavorful. The dinner also came with a loaded baked potato. It had sea salt on the outside of the skin and it had butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese, and green onion in the fold. It was not excessive, they put enough of everything on it so you could taste it all without losing the potato in the toppings. I don’t particularly like dessert but my boyfriend does and he couldn’t resist trying the 99% Chocolate flourless cake. He liked it so much he was able to convince me to try it even though I didn’t think I could eat another bite. I confess, I am happy I did. It was decadent and rich enough that one bite was enough for me. We took the advice of other reviewers and purchased the Living Social deal and almost felt guilty using it because even the price before the coupon was reasonable and well worth it. We were already talking about when we would like to go back on the way home!

Kevin is one of the best for sure. He welcomed our group like family. His recommendations for the lobster tail were spot on. A round of cocktails went down smooth

Best dining experience hands down! We had Grayson as our server and he killed it with wine/dessert selections! I had the scallops with shrimp on the side for dinner and paired it with a delicious pinot gris. The other meal was a bonein rib eye steak and it was cooked medium rare perfectly.(The only temp this should be ordered at!) Grayson asked all the right questions to be able to deliver the best option for wines and they paired perfectly. Both white and red selections were great. We ended up with dessert which is rare and it was delicious. I am not a cheesecake fan but i absolutely loved it. This is a 5 star dining experience.

Our waiter was awesome and was very accommodating. The chef Erik was excellent in delivering us the perfect vegetarian dish upon request. Based on other Unilocal reviews we decided to give this spot a try and it didn’t disappoint. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal in the area.

RECOMMEND: Find the $ 80 for $ 40 Groupon/Living Social deal and then go on a Wednesday night(as of May 2015) for their $ 20 Special(10oz Prime rib w/grilled veggies and loaded baked potato). FOOD: 5⁄5 The food was delicious. Ordered the pork belly and fried calamari appetizer. Pork Belly melts in your mouth and is rich in flavor. The fried calamari was a bit disappointing in flavor but if you add some hot sauce or something, you can bring back the dish. SERVICE: 5⁄5 The server was extremely friendly and catered very well to all our needs. She checked back frequently to make sure everything was okay and that our water/drinks were filled. DECOR/AMBIANCE: 5⁄5 It’s a lavish casino restaurant, why would it be anything less?

Foie Gras, bone marrow, ribeye, wedge salad and a nice Petite Syrah along with excellent service made this a 5 star meal. Best food I’ve had in Tucson. Also a great value for what I spent.

This is our second visit to PY steakhouse. Our first visit was definitely 4 – 5 stars, a year ago, but sadly this experience was lacking. We came with a 7pm reservation on a Saturday night, were seated by a lovely young lady, and taken care of initially by an awesome server who got our water and bread quickly. Then came our actual server to get our drink order. I was in the middle of ordering a whiskey flight when she abruptly walked away. About 10 minutes later, she returned, with the flight, and casually asked if we wanted anything else. We were so confused! It was awkward and she totally failed to acknowledge why she walked away in the middle of the order. So we shake that off, and order another cocktail(the rest of our initial drink order). She brings back that cocktail(the celebrity chef– way delicious) after another 10 minutes, and finally asks if we would like any appetizers. Long story short, she came back THREE times to confirm our order because«she forgot.» That’s weird for a 5 star restaurant, right? She was so blasé, it was like being served at a buffet. So the food. We ordered the caprese salad, the sea bass entrée, and sides of the au gratin potatoes(on the servers recommendation) and ratatouille. The salad’s heirloom tomatoes were super mealy, the sea bass was under seasoned and a little over cooked despite its excellent sear, and the potatoes had been cooked so long that the cheese was burnt into an unappetizing char throughout the dish. Presentation was lovely, of course, but overall the dishes were almost all disappointing. I really hope this was an off night for PY, because it was so promising the last time we came!

Terrible! I ordered the Bone In Rib Eye Medium and it was extremely Rare. Instead of taking it back and making me a new one they took the one I had sliced open and overcooked it to well done. That is such an amateur move. I was so upset but I was with a group of friends so I decided to eat it anyways. The service was poor and the sides were not worth the cost. I was really disappointed in the overall experience. I can understand if we were at a casual diner but for a Steakhouse to deliver such disappointed results is not acceptable. I would avoid this place at all cost.

Discovered thanks to a Living Social deal(spend $ 40, get $ 80 at the steakhouse) — Bargain city! This is a spendier, upscale steakhouse in the del Sol Casino outside of Tucson. We had a fantastic dinner with terrific service and lovely ambiance. Everything we tried was delightful. The escargot was tasty, garlicky, and tender. The salads were beautifully presented with crazy flavors(wedge salad with avocado purée… honeycrisp apple and basil — genius!). We each ordered a 6 oz filet — and they were absolutely perfectly cooked. I like a blue rare steak but very rarely order one in a restaurant because places rarely get it right — it’s always either overcooked or totally raw. But no! PY did blue rare just right — Perfecto! All of the side dishes were tasty, too — and easily shareable amongst three of us. The white cheddar and jalapeño creamed corn, the lobster mac n’ cheese, and the green chile and bacon au gratin potatoes were all so flavorful, rich, and filling. I can’t wait to head back to the desert and visit again

My wife and I love this place. The bartender is one of the best in Tucson. Great mixed drinks and wonderful appetizers. The salmon is really good. My wife had the 6oz steak and loved it. Make sure and call in a reservation. We unfortunately did not and are at the bar, but the bartender was great! This is a pretty pricey place, but you definitely get what you pay for. We will be coming back.

This place has become one of the best steak restaurants in Tucson. Owned and Operated by the Pascua Yaqui tribe — the restaurant is in Casino Del Sol. A pretty neat casino(bit smokey though). The wait staff was very very good. Fast, efficient there is none better that I have experienced. I had the rack of lamb — wow! It was great. Other folks had prime rib, salmon and a couple of other dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meal(I think the lamb was the best though). They have a happy hour until like 6P with ½ off whiskeys. They have lots of whiskeys and wines that range to very reasonable to some very expensive wines(more than I would ever order). Watch out for the Living Social Deals — best way to try this amazing restaurant.
