Food was ok. Server was super slow. Couldn’t order anything without onions except bean and cheese burrito. Even the mole had Onions. Who puts onions in mole?

I have to admit this is probably one of the top 3 Mexican restaurants where I had SOMUCHTOCHOOSEFROM! The waitresses were nice, the cooks were interactive with the customers & it was a cozy environment. As well as an awesome date with me & my best friend :) THEFOODISGREAT!

We have been to this place several times after it changed owners! OMG the enchilada dinner plates were so delicious! We decided to try other entrees when we came back another day. My husband ordered the Super Tostada and I ordered 2 Crispy Beef tacos and they were sooo yummy we can’t wait to be back. There were two waiters so orders came fast. And talk about authentic, their food was definitely authentic Mexican food! The place is starting to pack people because of good, quality, delicious meals!!!

This place was awesome. The service was outstanding and our waitress was super nice!(Fernanda) we ordered a total of 5 plates and they were all super delicious. It’s really authentic Mexican food. The molcajete we ordered to share and it was plenty. It had carne asada, chicken and shrimp in a semi spicy sauce. We also ordered a mojarra which was nice and crispy, a taco salad that was fresh and the tacos al pastor had great flavor. The michelada was a bit spicy but I finished it because it was so good. I would come back!

I wanted to call in my order to have it ready when I got to the restaurant. First mistake. I called and was told«one second please». 5 minutes later of being on hold, I hung up, giving them the benefit of the doubt being busy that night and forgot I was on the phone. I called back and got a different person saying the same thing. I wanted to do a little experiment at this point and stayed on the phone, only being 5 minutes away from the restaurant. I walk in, use the bathroom, walk to the front and immediately place my order to go. Mind you, I’m «still on the phone»… I sipped on a nice cold beer while waiting for my food and«listened”/watched the staff shoot the bull and walk by the phone that still had me on hold. Oh yeah. only 5 tables at most were occupied by diners. With how long the food took to come out(a decent and expected wait for good food) I was expecting something fresh and hot. Granted, I had to drive home(five minutes) so yes I knew the food would cool down some by then. What I wasn’t expecting is luke warm tacos and a luke warm burrito. I’m being generous by saying luke warm too… The food was decent at best. Chili’s Grill and Bar had a better burrito than what I had that night. As I paid and got ready to leave, I sarcastically(yes I admit it…) told the server she should probably check and hang up her phones. She said she already had… Ummm no you’re full of it. Sorry not sorry. 2 stars for the cold beer and the service I got when I first walked in.

I had the Taco salad, it was with carnitas… Wow delicious!!! The place was buzzing and very busy. The only criticism I have is that we weren’t serving our party at the same time… They need a bus person really really really bad. The waitstaff was overwhelmed. The food itself was so good I didn’t bother to get a photo once I started eating I couldn’t stop. Just enjoy the food give up the rest.

This location has always seemed tough for Food places. I came in and the service was good. I was able to order my food and receive it pretty fast. The Carne Asada Super Burrito was great. Very fresh. The meat had a smokey flavor. Salsa was good too. I enjoyed my experience.

This is a fairly new restaurant in Vallejo and was once another Mexican restaurant. The location is close to many shopping centers and other fast food places. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and they have tvs to watch the games. I ordered a shrimp burrito to go with no beans and I wasn’t told it was a super burrito for about $ 12. Although the burrito was pretty big I didn’t find it to be anything really special. I end up sharing it with a friend and we both had bad stomach issues after cosumption(thus why I only gave them 3 stars). the staff was nice but I’m not sure if I would go back.

Lol molcajetes is with out a doubt some of the best restaurant Mexican food you can get. I work in S.F. and have eaten lots of Mexican food. This place blows them all away. Plus $ 2.50 margaritas don’t hurt either. I highly recommend this place.

Simply amazing. I lived in LA the past 6 years and never had chili verde this good. The shrimp wet burrito was also out of their world. Excellent micheladas as well — and all at a reasonable price. Very friendly service and a fun, casual atmosphere.

I had a real bad experience coming to eat here a few weeks back with my kids and mom, the waitress messed up our order, forgot stuff etc. Anyway but overall the food was bomb. I won’t dine in anymore but I will definitely order take out.

Note: this review is subject to change. At first glance Los Mocajetes seems like a nice place to eat. And for the most part it is. But be warned; you should only eat here if you have time. And by time, I mean at least 1 hour… Probably longer… I lost track of time waiting for my food. And when it finally did arrive, it tasted like a banquet frozen dinner, which isn’t bad, but it shouldn’t cost you $ 6.99 ala cart. Did I mention the service? Pleasant but slow. also not very attentive. They’ve only been open 3 months, so I’ll give them another try… I hope things improve on my next visit.

Went in for Sunday early, looking for a good breakfast. Los Mocajetes was open and ready to go. My bride and I sat down, and looked around: clean and nice surroundings, a couple of wait staff and a couple of cooks, looked like they were ready. Everyone was friendly, asked how we were and what we wanted. I wanted a burrito and my bride asked for huevos rancheros. WIthout saying too much about«authentic», I am after all eating a big flour tortilla filled with eggs and carne asada, the food was fresh, hot and had chiles and spices in it for a flavorful bite. The carne was roast, cut into nice chunks. I liked it. The huevos were cooked perfectly, three eggs in a small skillet so that they were perfectly done and very creamy. The sauce was flavorful, picante and fresh as well. Our only rub, and it was minor, was the length of time it took from order to food. I’m thinking it could have been faster; however we were not on schedule and so it wasn’t a big deal. We will be back, I am a fan.

Gracias

It’s hard to get excited about a taco salad, but this one was spectacular! I ordered the ground beef and it was enough for two people or two meals. Excellent spice and flavor and honestly am not a big fan of mexican food but friends brought me a meal a couple weeks ago of enchiladas and it was wonderful I was sad to see only a couple tables occupied but once the word gets out. beware, you may have to call ahead. The price was great and the service wonderful. I will be back to try more dishes!

OK I have eaten at this place four times in the last 3 weeks. Needless to say very good food, portions are large and prices are reasonable The salsa is very good and the chips are hot. Today I had the two taco plate and the taco shells had been freshly fried. The wait staff and cooks have lineage from Taco Valle when it first opened up on Tennessee Street and Jalos in American Canyon.

Tried this place for the first time and I have to say the food was tasty. I tend to be picky with so called«mexican» restaurants but this place was pretty good. The only let down was that they aren’t serving alcohol yet because their piñaladas look good.
