Haven’t been in here in years. Feel like I missed something because it was fantastic. Like a lot of other reviewers noted — the décor is terrific! So cool, feels like it belongs somewhere besides Vero. But, most importantly, the sushi is original, fresh and delicious! We were with a small group and ordered a lot of different things. All were excellent but some of the baked rolls were superb! Overall, the best sushi in the area for sure. And service was good — nothing special but it was solid. Be back soon for sure.

Best sushi in Vero. We come here at least once a week, and it’s consistently good. The fish is always fresh, and the rolls are huge, with big chunks of fish. The sushi menu has tons of creative rolls, and we’ve never had a bad one. Service is always friendly.

Super huge booths(score!), artful presentation on the sushi, and slightly nutty décor. Server was great — can walk to Majestic Theater after the meal — thumbs up! Sorry I didn’t take a photo of the meal. It was much prettier than the older photos I see on Unilocal for Izziban.

Nice lunch with good service. Small portions food was fresh. Close to the movies makes a good location.

Fabulous sushi. A clean, fun place surrounded by bubbling fountains on the wall. The portions are overly generous. The service was amazing and the drinks Are stiff! Had the cowboy roll, shrimp tempura and sweet potato tempura roll. More than ample for one person. Cowboy roll was amazing– they all were but that one is just a little different!

I went here with my husband and a coworker. It was a little creepy that we were the only people in the entire restaurant. I feel like it was a little overpriced. I didn’t care for my roll however the rest of my party enjoyed theirs. Overall, it’s not bad but it’s definitely not great. I probably will not return. Nothing special. Atmosphere is nice.

I’ve eaten here a few times, and each time the food is fantastic! Hands down, my favorite place in vero to have sushi! It’s never crowded in there(I don’t know why…) so the service has always been great. The servers are always so friendly and attentive. I’ve always sat in the booths there and they’re always clean, the tables are nice, booths are comfy, and they can easily seat 8 people so they’re very spacious and that’s nice. And there’s something about their mini colorfully lit water tanks with rising bubbles, aligned across the top part of the walls that make me feel like I’m in a really cool place although I’m just sitting having sushi haha. Love this place!

We stopped in after some friends recommended Izziban for some sushi. They have a good selection on their menu with fusion food, sushi, and other specialties. The sushi was fresh and they have some hotplate dishes as well. We like it spicy and they went as hot as they dared, but we could have gone hotter. The service was great. This is a very roomy location and a nice ambience for dinning. The prices are pretty reasonable too. Overall, pretty good.

I go to this place because my husband loves loves loves the food, but I could take it or leave it based purely on service. That being said, we have probably been here at least 20 – 30 times between dine in and take out. Being in the service industry service is key however, if I can escape a meal without being heckled for a job or hearing how a server lost 2 shifts this week or hasn’t made any money all day, I’m thrilled. It doesn’t really take much to make me happy. I’ve had good service about 5% of the time, the other 95% it’s been decent at best. To give a specific example of the bad service… A couple months ago I came in sat at the bar and sat there without anyone coming over for just about 10 minutes. When the bartender came over he was actually dancing and asked what I wanted. I gave him the order and then he tried to make conversation, I told him how I had been working all day and have been craving sushi. Instead of sympathizing and trying to sell a drink(which I needed and would have bought) he proceeds to tell me how he’s had an awful day and he hasn’t made any money. Yes… just what I wanted to hear after a long day. Oh yes… I picked up my take out order today right after leaving work so I was wearing my uniform. Guess what?! The front desk girl asked me if I was hiring.

I gave 4 stars based on the fact they have the best sushi in Vero I have ever had. Amazing variety, decent prices. The atmosphere is also very hip/modern. Perfect for a date or good times with friends. What holds them back is the consistently poor service. Drinks remain empty, long waits for food, and sometimes the wait staff can be seen chatting or otherwise not waiting on people. It is frustrating because if the service were better I would go much more often and would have no reservations for giving 5 stars. Setting at the sushi bar is a fun experience if you enjoy watching the food being made. Again if you want the best sushi in Vero(again I am just blown away at the amazing variety and consistently great sushi) and can tolerate subpar service than you do not want to miss Izziban Sushi. I have never tried to get take out but that may be an option as well.

If I could eat one food for the rest of my life and die happy, it would be crab rangoon. Izziban has a crabrangoon roll that I loooooved and is the reason I am giving it 3 stars instead of 2. Izziban has a great variety of sushi and seemed very fresh, however they just didn’t seem prepared to do business. Our server was great, but being the only patrons in the restaurant at 5:00 on a Tuesday, it just didn’t seem like the chef was too excited to be making 6 different rolls for two of us. My boyfriend likes traditional sushi and always orders a California roll, a salmon roll and a tuna roll. They were out of regular tuna but could do Spicy or white tuna. Both the spicy and the white turned out to be good, but it was a disappointment that they were out of something so basic. Somehow the salmon roll never made it to the table, but because it took so long to get our sushi in the first place and the chef seemed a little out of sorts, we decided not to bring it back up. Our server was friendly and chatted with us about the area since we were visiting and suggested some things for us to do while we were here, which was nice. My least favorite part was battling the gnats. There is something a little unsettling about gnats landing in your soysauce. On the other hand, the place had great décor and seemed clean, maybe the gnats were just a temporary problem. I would give the place a second chance just for the crabrangoon roll that turned out so good, but over all this place is pretty mediocre.

Save Your Money!!! Don’t Eat Here! The only reason I can even give them one star is because of ambiance, otherwise I would have given them a 0 star. This hands down has to be the worst sushi restaurant on the treasure coast. There was only 1 other patron when I went in for a early dinner, and that should of given me reason enough not to eat there, but I was starving and figured I would give them a chance. BIGMISTAKE!!! The waiter was extremely slow and paid more attention to texting his friends, than to attending to the customer(me). After previewing their infinite list of sushi rolls they have for purchase I finally decided on their volcano roll. From the description it sounded like it would fill me up. It might have made it to my table 10 mins faster if the sushi chef was making rolls, instead he was flirting with the other patron. It was not until I asked the waiter what was taking so long that he had to bring to the attention to the sushi chef that i had placed an order. When my order finally arrived it did not look like what was described on the menu. The roll was bland, and completely flavorless, and even worse, it was room temperature. .At this point most customers would have totally given up… sigh… I forced myself to eat the entire roll, and yet still I was starving!!! Keep in mind at every sushi restaurant I have ever eaten at, I am typically a(1) roll type of guy. I decided to give them one more shot, so I ordered a Diablo Roll… «Are you freekin kidding me»!?? Once again I waited 20 minutes for the chef to make my roll, and yes, he was too busy with the only other patron in the entire restaurant(flirting). When my roll finally arrived I assumed based on the description it would be a(warm) roll, yet it also was room temperature. It claims on the menu to be topped with salmon but I could not find a single piece on any part of the entire roll. Bottom line: Ambiance might get a customer in the door, but your food quality is what keeps them sitting, as well as coming back. I can assure you I will never ever ever ever go back to Izziban Sushi. I would rather buy sushi from a gas station and get the same quality and waste far less time and money. BTW I spent $ 23.00 plus tip for two rolls and a ice tea… Way too pricey and lack of service, and quality of food was extremely pour… I have been kicking myself in my own butt every since I left the restaurant.

Wow… I ordered on Friday night, they were there within an hour… the sushi was out of this world and I’m very picky… got a bunch of rolls and two appetizers… so yum… definitely try them out… oh by the way I had them deliver… :) Eating left overs now and happy as a clam.

As we were walking toward the entrance of Izziban, I said to my boyfriend that my Unilocal review would begin with the word«inauspicious.» That’s exactly what Izziban is, in a strip mall with a bowling alley and a fitness center. Yet as other reviewers said, the interior packs a big punch. We went for dinner and there was a distinctive«happy hour» feel to the place. Our server was quite friendly and asked us if we liked edamame. When we responded affirmatively, he offered to comp us a portion. We ended up ordering another appetizer – agedashi tofu – instead. It was quite tasty, and then we went to put in an order for 4 sushi rolls when our server told us about their«buy 5, get 1 free» deal on maki. If you buy 6 maki, they subtract the average maki price(rather than the cheapest). We were convinced and he suggested the Sand Lake Roll and the Cowboy Roll to round out our order of Izziban Roll, Sunset Roll, Futomaki Roll, and one other roll that the boyfriend thinks was called Fire Tuna Roll. Futomaki was probably one of my favorites – it was a creative spin on traditional Japanese flavors, while still being relatively light and refreshing. Sand Lake was great – we love spicy tuna. The Cowboy roll was really interesting – it had bulgogi inside and was tempura fried… it’s hard to go wrong with deep fried steak and this was darned tasty. It was sliced into smaller than traditional rolls which helped with the heaviness. The Izziban was the most«out there» of the rolls we tried. I had read that Izziban was known for putting mozzarella on their rolls, so we decided to try one that way. It went startlingly well with sushi – the mozzarella came out like a saltier, smokier cream cheese(which we all know blends nicely!). It’s not something I would want to eat often – I like the«clean» flavors of sushi so this doesn’t fit that bill – but I’m glad I’ve tried it. Izziban’s sushi isn’t cheap, but creative rolls like this regularly run $ 10 or so, so I don’t find their prices objectionable. We wouldn’t normally splurge for 6 rolls, so the buy 5 get 1 deal was a nice way to sample more of the extensive sushi menu. We’ll be back!

The food was good, however the sashimi dinner did not come with rice or salad which we have grown accustomed to in most Shushi restaurants. Service was ok but the first wine my wife order she had to send back as it tasted sour or as she put it «old». The fish was fresh and very tasty but most of the platter was white radishes with only 12 pieces of sashimi. We didn’t feel the amount of sashimi we got was worth the cost.

Ordered the Beauty and the Beast Roll and the Super Dragon Roll. Both were pretty awesome, they know what they are doing with the sushi. They have Kirin on draft(fantastic) and a spicy mayo-like sauce on the table that was perfect. I liked this place and am definitely going back. I’m also recommending it highly. Also, if you sit out on the patio, they give you a small grill so you can char your own meat selection and some dipping sauces. Good for something different.

Although it is located in a strip mall, the interior would have you believe otherwise. I stopped by Izziban for lunch with my mom on Black Friday. The hostess was welcoming and the service was prompt. The food was delicious and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had baby octopus on the menu. This is an item that is left off of the menu all too often in my opinion. I will be sure to stop in here again the next time I am visiting family in the area.
