Hooked On Subs-Yogurt & More

Been hearing about this place in drips & drabs. The four or five people I’ve spoken to had different opinions mostly o.k. and thumbs up with only one acquaintance telling me to avoid this spot.
My overall take is fair to pretty good. I got the Italian hero Jersey style. The bread was fresh. Personally I think they need better quality cold cuts. Their ham was disappointing.
The shop was clean and the employees knew the menu items. I’ll definitely try them out a few more times.
They have recently added some Mexican items so I down for that.

Food at best is reheated and the place looks like it is about three days from closing. They post signs all around their door for tacos. Taco Hell is better…

I am building the website for Hooked on Subs, which is changing it’s name to Two Brothers Café. They are changing a lot of things there, including cleaning up, painting inside, adding tacos, which I have had and are delicious, and making online ordering available. If you haven’t tried it lately come back soon and if you wrote a bad review bring a copy of it and they will give you a free menu item so you can rethink your impression.

Never read reviews at a restaurant while you’re waiting for your food!
I did this here and was a bit worried until the food came. I ordered the california club and it was very good. Lots of meat and fresh veggies. I like the toasted bread and melted cheese with the cold sub. Great selection of chips and fountain for the soda for refills was great. My mom ordered the cheesesteak and switched the provolone for American. The cheese was velvetta (?) and overpowering flavor. Should’ve stayed with the provolone. Other than that we had a great experience. The ice cream, although we didn’t have any, is a nice option for desert.
I’ll definitely be back because I really enjoyed my sub.

Used to be my absolutely favorite sub shop.
Apparently, under new management and I can honestly say I will never eat there again. The smell that overwhelms you when you walk through the door is absolutely nauseating. It smells like one of their coolers is broken and the the food inside went bad. I literally had to fight the urge to throw up. For some unknown reason I still decided to order. I ordered a tuna waist watcher. I took two bites and was sickened but the texture and the fact that I couldn’t tell if the paste was tuna, chicken or something else. I am not one to write bad reviews and went to the extent of creating an account to write it because I was was so disappointed. The fact that they have «same location for over 20 years» printed on the menu is upsetting because the previous owners would have NEVER allowed their business to sink so low.

After reading a questionable review I decided to ignore it and give it a shot. I should have listened. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak. It’s extremely difficult to screw one up, but they did an amazing job. It resembled dry puréed cat food more than anything. The only toppings on it were hidden in little tiny bits inside of the thin layer of «meat» that was spread out on the roll. I would absolutely never come here again.

Under new management they have been offering Val Pak and newspaper coupons. Went by and never seems to be any customers in there. Went on ⁷⁄₂₄ and the place stinks a terrible smell like bad meat when you walk in. Plus you can’t see the meat hidden away to make the sandwiches. Place just seems run down. just a couple cans of soda in the cooler. I looked around and walked out. Couldn’t care to try anything let alone eat there with the smell.

Nice little sub place near the movie theater. Good sandwiches made in front of you with good bread. I will go again for sure.

If you like, Penny Hill Subs, you will love this place. Same thing, but done better, plus they have dessert.
