I absolutely love this place! This entire environment, the servers, the food, the drinks, all of it. Most romantic spot ever. Wish I could give 20 stars

I want to start off by saying that I made a reservation to go here for graduation dinner. I finally graduated with my 4 year so it was a very exciting time. I was at the same location for my anniversary just a month before so I thought it would have gone off without a hitch. My sister, mother, and dad came down from Maryland for this. We get there and have to wait for 15 minutes for our table when actually I could see our table from the waiting section and it was already beatable from the time we walked in. We sat down and our waitress was scarce from the beginning. They knew that this was my special graduation night but preceded to not fill our classes constantly throughout the meal, our food all came out at different times. My stake that i ordered medium came out rare 3 times, my dads and sisters and friends stakes all came out rare 2 times as well. I was the only one that ended up not eating that night. While everyone was eating I was sitting there waiting and waiting and waiting. I was so angry at this point I just wanted to get out of there. They had the audacity to try and give us a bill at the end. We ended up not paying at the but for my special night being completely ruined they should have been more.

As always the dinner was spectacular. However without Jonathan’s personalized servicing skills im afraid it would of not been as good. He personally made sure we were fully satisfied with everything including our drinks. He even replaced the one we werent 100% on. The meal piping hot, the brussel sprouts with bacon to the huge cheese cake pie slash desert single serving, to the hurricane and cappuccino and Kahala. And he gave us a story of why its called ruths chris, because it was originally chris’s and ruth took over… and the time the waiters took with us to explain the menu outstanding service, food and over all experience 100%

One of the better Ruth’s Chris that we have dined at. Good service, nice location. If you are looking for a good meal while staying in the area, I really can’t think of a better place.

We already know that they are expensive for dinner but not too many ppl know that they have a happy hour deal at bar. If you plan to go there on Friday, you should get there before 5 because not too many seats in there. Happy hours foods and drinks are awesome. I never have complain about their foods also they have a great customer service.

What a wonderful dining experience we put our phones away and absorbed ourselves in the journey of amazing service and of course the food. The veal osso buco ravioli was on point. My friend and I picked 3 sides which was too much but we wanted to try so many and they have doggie bags! The steaks came out cooked to perfection and stayed warm with every bite on those 500 degree sizzling plates. Expensive but worth it. will be back to pamper myself soon.

I’m giving this one star only because you can’t give it zero stars. Sat at the bar bartender forgot my wine I asked for my wine and then she poured me the wrong wine. I ordered a 12 ounce strip medium rare and It came out well done. I sent it back ordered it rare and how this happened I have no idea the steak was half rare and half medium well. I then requested the manager who came over and told me he had no idea how that could happen. He comped the bill but had a careless attitude. This is Ruth Chris supposedly high-end steakhouse I will never be back

Awesome happy hour. If you want quality ruths chris food but want to avoid the main dining room ruths chris prices, come here for their happy hour. I have tried their ahi tuna which is fresh and plentiful for one person, and comes with a side of pickled vegetables and ginger. Their Prime Burger with fries are perfection. The pictures are very deceiving because they appear to be your standard tastely/dry sliders that you would get at restaurant, however they are juicy and flavorful and at a good price. Their drinks are equally good. Stick with the classic manhattan or wine as they have never failed me. However, the ever popular Pomegranate martini has been hit or miss for me on several occasions. Since I am not sitting at the bar to see who is making it, I cannot judge on what one bartender vs another is doing. Overall, you get a lot of quality food for a decent price. Definitely the best happy hour in town center.

I might be biased as I write review because first of all, it was a pleasant surprise dinner treat from my boyfriend to help celebrate our 3 year anniversary. I’ve never been and honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect other than a really expensive menu. We had reservations at 5:30 pm that had to be moved to 6 pm because of traffic and they were more than accommodating to let us push it back an extra 30 minutes. Upon arrival we were greeted by a super friendly hostess who informed us it would be just a moment and for us to take a seat and wait for them to call. We waited less than than 5 minutes and were led to a window side table. It was already dark by then but I still enjoy looking down at the hustle and bustle on the street below anywhere we go. I noticed it was still empty with just a few patrons seared far from each other and I liked that.(I hate when you enter a restaurant and the whole place is empty but they want to seat you shoulder to shoulder.) Stacie was our waitress and I want to say her assistant was Jeff. I could be wrong. Stacie was awesome! She could totally be someone I could hang out with. She was so friendly, so personable, and quite a jokester. She had us laughing from the first minute. She asked us if we were celebrating anything that evening and we told her it was our 3rd anniversary. She replied with«Congratulations, it’s the most important year.» Hahaha. After given a few moments to look over the wine and drink menu, Stacie came back to go over the menu only after giving us a small background of how Ruth’s Chris came about. Tip: Broadsteet Hurricane is DELICIOUS. It’s a creeper, too, so… Beware! I ordered a glass of the Banfi Rosa Regale for some tart sweetness. We wanted to order everything. After debating over a few items, we each settled for the prix fixed menu, probably left over from Valentine’s weekend, I’m not sure. Boyfriend ordered the $ 53.95 menu which he ordered the apple and pecan salad, 6 oz filet(medium) and lobster tail(tail off, please!), and a side of Mac ‘n cheese. I ordered off the $ 43.95 menu: same salad as Boyfriend, 6 oz filet(medium) and shrimp, and a side of au gratin. And for dessert we got the only option available: chocolate and raspberry mousse thingy. If no one has told you that their steaks come out on 500-degree plates, well, they do. With that said, MEDIUMWELL&WELLDONE should be taken completely off the menu as an option of how you want your steak prepared. Shame on YOU if that’s how you like your meat cooked anyway. You’re missing the point of enjoying steak!!! Anyway, Boyfriend’s filet came out sightly over cooked. Asked for medium and got medium well. I think Stacie misheard him but he was okay. My medium was perfectly medium. The butter was still sizzling, too! Mac and Cheese is TODIEFOR — better than the au gratin. Something about the cheese that gives you that bite and keeps you coming back for more. No left overs, btw! The ambiance is beautiful. Low lighting, high ceiling, courteous, professional waitstaff… I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Will I come back?! Abso-freaking-lutely — probably for the most important anniversary — the 4th one! Hahaha!

Really great wait staff. Was never at a Ruth Chris before but I was told to dress nice. Little to my knowledge my boyfriend proposed before we walked in and they had a little congrats on the table waiting for us. Unfortunately for me I didn’t get to enjoy the food as much as I should have because I was so excited of the engagement. But either way we got some delicious food and I still forced myself to eat most of what I order. Which was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion, and the staff was impeccable. Overall a great place and amazing location, just wish I could’ve enjoyed the food but I enjoyed the moment a little bit more.

It’s been a few years since I have been to Ruth’s Chris in the VB Town Center. However, I have been to other locations of the chain and do think they are one of the top steak houses. They main be a chain, but I contend they do everything at a high level in a localized way. This review is based on my recent experience with their Happy Hour menu in the bar. This is the first time I have tried their Sizzle, Swizzle & Swirl menu. I threw on some nicer duds and headed up the narrow escalator to the second floor and opened the dark wooden door with beautiful brass hardware. I arrived just after 5PM and there was a tiny back up at the hostess station. I bypassed this and headed to the bar which is to the left. The dining room was empty since it was early and a Monday which is probably the slowest day of the week. The bar was another story and almost packed out. Booths on the left, tables for larger groups in the middle and a bar that seats12−15. There was room for me to get a seat at the bar and I was quickly waited on by Tiffanee who introduced herself and got me food and drink menus. Everything on the food and mixed drink menu is $ 8. Tap domestic beers are discounted. Nothing was very appealing on the domestics, but I settled for a Yeungling which was served quickly with a glass of water that I asked for. I typically will ask for suggestions, they had around five choices on the menu. However, the burger just sounded right for me and a 1⁄3 of a pound for $ 8 with fries at Ruth’s Chris seemed like a bargain. Another bartender Matteo also assisted me and introduced himself while setting up silver wear and a napkin place mat. The bar has a higher level of sophistication than others with dark wood, brass and a window view of Town Center. The crowd was diverse with young and old, male and female and the levels of attire varied as well. I was actually dressed spot on with comfortable dress slacks and sweater. There were some men with jackets and women with dresses. But how casual can you go, the man beside me was in a nice shirt and jeans. A few TV’s are around for games, but I would not call this a typical sports bar by any stretch. Tiffanee and I talked a bit and found out she is working her way through college. She was sweet and friendly and had great control of bar. She also chatted up a few regulars she knew by first name. A great sign that they retain a clientele for Happy Hour. The other bartender also greeted guest by first name. I was feeling a high level of service going on and was impressed. My burger was out within 15 minutes and surprisingly had bacon on it. The description on the menu did not list it… so BONUS! Mayo was on the side as I requested. The fries were golden brown and crispy and I could not resist sneaking in a few bites first. Ketchup is served on the side in a cup. The burger was cooked to my specification, delicious and HUGE! Check-in by my waitress was minutes after which was time perfectly. My water did hit bottom at one point and was quickly refilled as the bar got busier. I was not in a hurry and probably spent around an hour at the bar enjoying my meal and talking to the staff. In my opinion the Happy Hour menu is a «secret menu» that few know about. Per the bartenders this is not advertised, but it is not hidden either. Check-out was efficient and I walked out under $ 15 with tip for a burger, fries and beer. What’s important to mention is that these are meals, not appetizers, or small plates. It is a great deal! Before departing I hit up the restroom. They are located to the right and back as you enter. I found them spic and span with proper supplies. The restroom runs along with the Ruth’s Chris theme of sophistication and are extremely nice. When exiting there was no back up at the hostess station. A young woman was behind the station with clear view of me and the door. It was disappointing to not hear a thank you for coming in tonight, or similar phrase. I’m a fan of the chain and will return to enjoy the happy hour menu again.

I’ve dined here for both happy hour and restaurant week. Happy Hour is the best in the Town Center. Really reasonable prices for drinks — sure, but the best part is the food. You can actually get full for dinner off the happy hour menu; there are so many decent choices: seared ahi tuna, crab dip(sooooo good), and burger(with fries!)… Plus, ambiance is nice. There’s a fireplace, and outdoor [balcony] seating. For restaurant week, you can finally get a steak for the low. Three courses for $ 40. I started with the lobster bisque… not much lobster, but really creamy and probably too salty. I didn’t finish it. I ordered my six ounce steak medium, which was a grave mistake. The plate comes out scorching with the steak still sizzling. Therefore, my steak was more medium well. Still delicious and devoured. For a side, I got the creamed spinach. And there was SOMUCH of it. Not a good thing, but not all the way bad. I had to take it home. Then for dessert, I got a very forgettable something. I literally don’t remember what I had, but I remember wanting the bread pudding and it wasn’t an option. I have, later, tried the bread pudding and it is completely hit or miss. But when it’s a hit? More please.

I have a friend who is totally blind. She has been my dining companion on a number of occasions. We also have entirely different tastes. She is a steak person and I am not. Ruth’s Chris is her favorite steak restaurant in the area. She also has an amazing palate. Sometmes she is able to identify each and every herb and spice present in a particular dish. She loves to gloat when I am unable to do so. I promised her a while back that I would take her to Ruth’s Chris for her Christmas meal. And so I did, on the last day of their annual holiday lunch, which ended on the date of December 23rd. As a general rule, I no longer like to dine at corporate chain restaurants, not even the more upscale ones like Ruth’s Chris. There are exceptions, and this was one of them. A promise is a promise. Upon our arrival, I guided her up the escalator and through the entrance. We were quickly received with a friendly greeting and led to our seats. They were doing a brisk business that day, with a number of large dining groups present. My friend ordered the following: MIXEDGRILL: «A 4-oz. tenderloin filet, an oven roasted chicken breast stuffed with garlic-herb cheese, and a jumbo lump crab cake.» She also ordered a baked potato a la carte, which we both split. There was one catch – she doesn’t like crab cakes. She asked our server if the kitchen could accommodate a substitution before officially placing her order. Specifically, she asked if extra chicken could take the place of the crab cake. Our server returned from the kitchen and told her they would be glad to honor her request by replacing the crab cake with an extra chicken breast. In addition, our server told her she would be receiving a 6-oz. serving of tenderloin instead of the 4-oz. serving cited on the menu. She ordered her steak cooked medium with a pink interior. It was presented in several pre-cut slices, all of which exposed an attractive pink interior. Her comments: «The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, very tender, and mildly seasoned. It was obviously an aged beef of high quality, one which delivered an exceptionally solid beef flavor. It did not need any additional seasoning.» She had one of her chicken breasts boxed up to take home in advance and ate the other one at her table. The chicken came pre-sliced, and an extra chicken wing was served separately on the side. Her comments: «The chicken was chargrilled on the outside with its skin lightly crispy. The meat inside was moist to the point of juicyness and very tasty. The garlic-herb cheese was nicely understated in the background without being overwhelming.» Her baked potato, which we both split, was freshly baked and enjoyed. The butter that came with it was whipped and lightly textured. She also enjoyed the complimentary bread with its crustiness on the outside and the soft fresh texture on the inside. I tried one piece and found it rather ordinary. For a beverage, she ordered sweetened iced tea and commented: «It was prepared perfectly, with just the right amount of ice, without causing dilution.» Our server gave her three refills and an extra container to take home. As for myself, I just had a glass of water. My friend was in a total state of bliss with her meal. Her Rating: 5 Stars. I ordered the following: SEAREDAHITUNASALAD: «Field greens, red onions, and vegetables with slices of blackened ahi tuna and a honey-thai sauce.» The portion size of the salad was very generous. The greens and vegetables were fresh, flavorful, and nicely drizzled with the honey-thai sauce. Pickled ginger was also included, which was a nice touch and enjoyed. The ahi tuna was good but not exceptional. It just didn’t sing to me here as much as I’ve had it elsewhere at a few other restaurants. I would have also preferred it to be either a little more blackened on the outside or a little more rare on the inside. My Rating: 3.75 Stars. The real star of the show was our server, who was a true and consummate professional. She was attentive, accommodating, and friendly throughout our entire meal. She gladly assisted my friend by guiding her hands to the location of her food items with expertise and poise. This was, without a doubt, the most outstanding display of service I have ever witnessed from any server at any restaurant for my friend. She put on a veritable clinic and showed how it’s done. Bravo, Kristen! This was not my first time dining here. I first ate here several years ago, long before I joined Unilocal.Although detailed memories are a bit fuzzy, I do remember that my steak was excellent and the chocoloate mousse was divine. On the downside, the garlic mashed potatoes were a disappointment, much too bland for my tastes with only a very weak presence of garlic. I have promised to bring my friend back here for her birthday dinner next July. Next time I’ll break down and try another steak.

This is strictly for happy hour on the outdoor patio! The service was stellar! Their HappyHour is awesome! $ 8 food and drink specials. I want the prime burger and lobster! Didn’t get to try the food. The atmosphere is second to none! I had a manhattan it was mixed perfectly. The domestics are only $ 3 on HH and they have a huge tv outside too. A second or third tv and this would be a great place to watch sunday football for the 4 o’clock games. And eat/drink happyhour food!

Wow, I thought my first experience at Ruth’s Chris would have been a 5 star experience, especially since I’ve heard nothing but great things about this place. The usual complaint I would hear was only about their prices, but that the prices are worth it because of the quality! I will say though, that we were only here for Happy Hour dinner and drink specials, so hopefully when I return one day and order an actual steak, my rating and review will go up. Yes, we had a very large party of about 20 or so, and dined on the patio for HH. I ordered the«Prime Sliders and Fries» and my boyfriend ordered the«Spicy Lobster.» It took forever, I mean forever as in pretty much an hour to get our food. Our waiter was nice, very cool, it’s just that service was slow. I was hoping he would get more help. Food– it was ok. I know it wasn’t a steak, and not what the place is known for, but I thought that the sliders would have been good, especially since it was topped with some type of Bleu Cheese Crust crumble. They were just ok. Fries were ok. Their complimentary house chips with Ranch dipping sauce was my favorite thing. Would I return? Of course! I want to try the steak and truly see and taste what the hype is about. Return for Happy Hour, maybe not. Or if I do, I would definitely come with a smaller group, and I’d definitely order something else.

Service was pretty decent here, especially if they’re serving up some pretty good prime quality steaks. Although I made reservations here, I don’t think it’s really needed. Not a lot of folks were dining in when I came. It was pretty much empty. They have some bar-only specials too. As for the steak, they warn you ahead of the time of the sizzling 1800 degrees plate that comes to your table. I would recommend letting it breath for at least 10 minutes before you dive into. Eating some of it right away, left some uncomfortable, and burning feeling that lingered in my stomach for about a week… again let it cool down for a bit. They have unique $ 12 cocktails… and pretty strong btw. The other Ruth Chris’ are pretty consistent with their steaks and service. They won’t disappoint.

I know that I will receive some«shade» for this review and the three stars instead of five but I was not really impressed. For the price of our food, the wait, the stone steps leading up to the dining area, and the food. We went for our 25th anniversary and my husband planned ahead. Yes he is amazing and I am blessed. We had the best service we have ever received in Hampton Roads. The gentleman told us that he rarely works here now since becoming a father and being blessed with a new full-time job. He comes to Ruth Cris just to interact with customers because he works from home and misses adult interaction. And wait for it, he loves his boss and co-workers so much he asked to stay on the schedule. He really loves his job and he made our experience wonderful. The table was decorated with sparkly Happy Anniversary decorations. The décor was wonderful. Thanks Ruth Cris! Can you tell that I have not mentioned the food yet. The steaks were good and the sides were well presented but fir the price you are paying for the atmosphere. It is everything you have read about. Beautiful seating, the restaurant is well organized and beautifully decorated to impress. I think we went when they were training a new Chef or line cook because our food did not match the other reviews we read. Not bad but it was just okay. The cuts of meat were«pretty» and if they had been prepared properly I know that they would have bed fabulous. The sides were great we ordered more sides to compensate for the meat. We enjoyed our meal of sides, the outstanding customer service from the hostess stand to the table where we were received the best table service ever!!! We will be back for more MEAT because I believe our steaks were not the norm. I lived Ruth Cris even the take out boxes were classy. I will update this review after I try another steak. Our waiter made the night amazing. I hope I put enough information in the review so the mgmt can compliment me. Hugs to you, you great Dad!

A few Unilocal friends and I went to this place yesterday. . I have to say. the service could and should have been better. . I had to flag down the server several times, for everything that we needed, which he showed obvious dislike towards. but, had I not said anything, we would have continuously gotten ignored. I had to get his attention to even order my food. . And he quickly shuffled away as soon as I told him the food I choose so I had to loudly say and water please because he didn’t ask what I’d like to drink. i chose the seared ahi tuna. the description says it is in a spirited sauce… I love seafood, I could really eat it all day At an upscale place like this I was excited to try it because surely it would be spectacular. .right? Wrong:( the first bite was okay. then it stared The waiter said they use different mustards for the sauce It tasted like each bite was a mouth full of wasabi It was so strong I couldn’t taste the tuna. at all It was burning my mouth I literally felt like I ate straight wasabi. the waiter hadn’t filled my drink the whole time we were there so my sweet friend. (whom I’d just met in person for the first time gave me her water.) I ordered my dessert. crème brûlée and cindy ordered the bread pudding. . When my crème brûlée came out it was completely soft lacking any crunchy top. i had been wanting to try this forever but wanted to try actual crème brûlée not just crème. .this seemed like they previously torched the top and stuck it in the fridge. there was no shell layer on top When my friend told the waiter he got defensive and tried to explain what crème brûlée is and the process. .she said I know what it is and it’s not right it should have a slight hard shell on top and it doesn’t The other friend that had ordered the bread pudding got hers and it was stale on the top and overly eggy all throughout. They replaced our desserts and they came back perfect Completely different! That was other than the conversation and company of my friends the best part of the meal. The shell was there I could see real vanilla bean at the bottom of the dish, definitely wish they would have brought it out like this the first time. in conclusion I think I’d give them another shot but I think it will be a while

The steaks here are immaculate. They have an awesome menu, but if there’s anything you get, it’s gotta be the steak! They have an extensive wine list to compliment your meal whatever you decide to eat. Ate here on thanksgiving, had their three course dinner, and it was a delightful experience. The host was really nice. His name was Will and if you’re in the area he is also the GM for one life fitness on Virginia Beach Blvd. I went with the gumbo soup to start, no regrets here! The turkey was tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. And dessert was amazeballs.
