We stopped by Gramercy on our way into Walla Walla for Spring Release weekend. When we drove up to the building, it reminded me of a saloon. As we walked inside, there was a nice counter with a tiled back wall behind it and seating in front. To my surprise, off to the right and around the room were a very comfortable couch and chairs. As if you are entering a sitting room(well that term dates me). Very inviting and comfy area. Brandon(one of the owners) came out from the back and greeted us. He was very friendly and proceeded to pour us some of their amazing wines. As he was pouring, he told us of their history and story. His partners Greg and Pam Harrington decided to move to Walla Walla in 2004 to produce great Rhôné– and Bordeaux-based wines in Washington State. Using the philosophy of great vineyards, small production, minimalist winemaking, time, and patience. Thus producing some beautiful and delicious wines. Greg also achieved Master Sommelier status at age 26 so he knows his wines. I believe the combination of that along with the love of the craft is what makes the wines so special. Needless to say, we purchased a few bottles. And look forward to our next visit.

We visited Gramercy Cellars right after harvest in early October and absolutely loved it. Their wines are consistently incredible and their tasting room quite classy. We enjoyed it so much we became wine members! In good weather the front porch will make for a great shady tasting spot.

Best wine in Washington State. Don’t let the looks outside deceive you. These guys are producing premium red wines that make you realize what a great wine should taste like.

Absolutely delightful. The wine is unbelievable while the service is pleasant, warm, and inviting. Even when a large party rolled in halfway through our tasting, the staff made us feel well taken care of without neglecting us or the other couples in the room. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, a great spot to come in and try what is most likely the best wine you have ever had! The décor is KILLING it and perfect for a tasting room!

Cool environment as they have a big screen TV, couches, etc. They also give free wine tasting if you found the place. Wines were pretty good too. We didn’t stay long because we had many more wines to taste. Definitely worth a visit.

I don’t like football, but I DO like it while lounging in giant leather sofas sipping amazing wine. These are talented people creating outstanding wine. I work hard– they work hard to produce their great product, therefore I don’t mind spending a little extra for a superior vino. I highly recommend you do too!

This tasting room and the people are cool. Much cooler than I am. We watched the Kentucky Derby while drinking the nice but overpriced wines. In our group of 9 wine drinkers, no one felt compelled to purchase.

Wow. My girlfriend and I whom are both in the wine industry taste a LOT. We are californian’s that get spoiled by napa, paso and santa barbara wines nightly. It takes a lot for us to be impressed. I would have to say that Gramercy took a leap into my top 5 wineries after our experience last weekend. We went to Gramercy after a recommendation from Taylor who works at Woodward Canyon Winery. Steve was working behind the bar and he was very personable and knowledgable(a sommelier!). I am rather picky with wine(As is my girlfriend) and I can’t remember ever going into a tasting where I was blown away with every wine I tasted. There are always a few that aren’t ‘must have.’ This wasn’t the case with Gramercy… we purchased a few bottles of each. Steve even invited us in the back to do some barrel tasting of the 2010s. Kind of a rambling review, but I would say that if you are in walla walla, this is a MUST visit place… my favorite of all those we visited. Thanks for the great recommendation Taylor and for the great experience Steve.

Great place. No sign, so pay attention to the address. The winemaker, his wife and another member of their team gave us fantastic service, explaining their approach to winemaking and joking about the Sharktopus movie on TV. As campy as the entertainment was, these are serious wines made by serious people. The wines seem to be mid-priced($ 45) for Walla Walla, but are worth every penny if they’re in your price range. This was our first stop, and we left with two bottles — 2008 Cab and 2009 Third Man. This is fantastic, restrained wine.

First off, they have moved to 63513th Ave and only open by appointment but wow what a cool man cave Greg created for his new place in Walla Walla. His wines are equally incredible and if there was a category for the hottest winemakers wife(and owner), Pam would definitely get my vote!

My friend arranged for the wine tasting(you need to make a reservation, there were no walk-ins at the time) and it’s actually on the Waters vineyard grounds. They’re supposed to be opening up a tasting room in the future but didn’t have one at the time of our visit. My friends and I probably visited about 15 vineyards during our trip to Walla Walla and Gramercy stands out as the one where I enjoyed all the wines we tasted. It was just good good wine. I’m sure what else to add. Oh, if the wine seems to smell very baby-powderish, you might want to have the glass rinsed out, I noticed this at the Waters tasting, that the dishwashing liquid or something left a very strong smell that made the tasting very weird(I don’t like the smell of baby powder). The person that did our tasting(I’m horrible with names) was great. He didn’t seem to be there to «sell» the wine but really explain it and let us taste it. He informed us they’d ship to us for free so we didn’t have to pick anything up there. I loved his laid-back attitude, he showed up in a baseball cap, t-shirt and jeans. Oh, our rental got stuck when a semi took up the only road out of the winery, he reconn’ed the path over the dried grass to make sure there were no rocks or bad dips that we could get stuck on. :)
