It’s quick and cheap but the food is just average at Demos. The kebabs were ok; they were what you would expect out of a grilled Greek chicken kebab. The soup was not good in my opinion. It had way too much lemon to the point where it was really over powering. They do have tables but you order at the counter and then they bring you your food. You can also order take out at said counter.

Horrible, overpriced food and even worse service. They should be ashamed to to call themselves a Greek«restaurant». But they aren’t.

Okay I went back and forth between a 3 – 4 star. I decide on 4 because while the quality lacks in this place, the price for its quality is spot on so I can’t judge, but I can!!! So price wise? Sweet. Parking? Lots. Food? Meh, look at it this way… The main part of the dish, the meat it’s good. That’s all that mostly matters. What I absolutely dread in this place is the red stuff they put all over the rice they give you. I don’t even know how to define if, but it’s like eating perfumed tomato sauce. It just kills the whole rice part. Why not just do some lemon sauce, rice pilaf variation? Isn’t that what Greeks love? I dunno, on the flip side the Greek salad is spot on. With a pinch of salt needed for most of you. The dressing is a little on the light side, but I like that and they are generous with the feta. The dishes all mostly come with pita bread so PLEASE for the love of righteousness use it to eat with your salad, NOT the butter that they give you. What a waste. I also have been to the Watertown location a handful of times and I’ll say this one is more convenient, but both are huge. Oh we did find a rubber band in one of our dishes which sucked but it wasn’t my dish, and she kept eating it so no biggie lol! Also the customer service — you knew that was coming right? Right! There is none. The dude take your order, you pick up the dish yourself, and you are told and signs everywhere tell you to leave the dishes on the table. This sad busboy just circles around and picks everything up. The guy who announces your number like you’re at a Papa Gino’s is barely understandable and NOT cause of language issue, he simply sounds like he could care less and would rather be calling out bingo numbers. Amusing all together as long as you got good friends with you. Chicken shush kabob is where it’s at for me btw!!!

Been eating at Demos for years and i have always been happy with them. The food is very affordable and i always leave so full. The kebabs are great they have so many options and the moussaka and pastitio remind me of my mothers cooking. Every time i leave i cant wait until the next time!

Price matches quality. Great place with big servings– leaving you full without a question. Grab a friend or co-worker and give it a try for a great lunch.

We were very disappointed. The food was ok, the environment was so-so, and the restaurant was dingy. But it was cheap so I guess it was comparable to a McDonalds or Wendys. We were really looking forward to authentic Greek cooking but there was nothing authentic or traditional about the restaurant or the cooking. The hummus they served was so watered down & had no taste at all. I was embarrassed for them that they actually served that as hummus. The«Greek» salad they served was also nothing special. And my Chicken Kabob was made up of chicken & onions on a Skewer & it was extremely dry. Most Greek Kabob’s I have had in the past included meat, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. We won’t be returning and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Demo’s used to be a regular work lunch spot for me. We would visit at least once a month. Small parking lot, lots of seating, good food. I have ordered a variety of foods from here– spinach pie, gyros, chicken kabobs, etc. Unfortunately, my last 2 visits the food was sub-par. Not sure if they have changed their chef.

What happened to Demos? This was our family’s favorite restaurant for over 15 years. Recently, we’ve had several disappointing meals here. We honestly don’t think we’ll ever be going back. Food is tasteless now – bland, low-quality. Ugh! So sad this family favorite has gone down :-(

I often go to this place. The portions are large and the beef is tender. However sometimes a little bit overcooked thus dry. I recommend this.

The humus was watery and had little taste, the chicken and lamb skewers were tasteless, and the salad was oily. We wanted to like this restaurant(it was recommended by a friend) but the food was just mediocre.

Demos Waltham has been here for years — would stop for wonderful Greek salad and fare. Recent visit was disappointing to say the least. Watered down, somewhat lumpy hummus and what looked to be a very old slice of spanakopita that was ordered by my dining partner. I couldn’t bring myself to taste. All this served on sticky, neglected tables. Greek food is some of the best in the world — don’t let this happen. please.

I work in Waltham and have driven by this establishment several times — always wondering how their food is. I finally made a trip here for lunch and was very disapointed with my experience. I am not going to rant about the service because with a casual eatery, I don’t expect much. The food is my main gripe. I ordered a Gyro and Greek Salad. My Gyro had hardly any tzaziki(sp?) sauce and was falling apart at the seams. When I asked where my dressing was for the greek salad, I was pointed into the direction of sticky bottles of oil/vinegar. Which can I say, looked like the bottle had been hanging out since 1994. Being dissapointed with my salad dressing option, I decided to add some salt to my greek salad, only to be disgusted by the mystery particles of either dirt or god knows what hanging out in the shaker. My friend ordered hummus and being the A-RAB that I am, this was no hummus but watered down chickpea paste at best. No flavor and not a hint of garlic. Needless to say, I have no plans of returning to this restaurant in the future.

Okay so let’s be real, this place isn’t extraordinary but it definitely fits the bill when looking for fast, cheap, and decent tasting food. We went there the other night and tried to stay low-carb. Although they have minimal selection when looking for low carb food, what we ordered satisfied our palettes. We always do take out so I can’t really comment on the restaurant experience but the place is pretty big and looks clean to me. We each ordered the beef kabob open face sandwich and skipped the pita. The skewer contained beef plus the standard onions and peppers all on top of a Greek salad. Again, nothing amazing but it was fine and cheap. Next time I will most likely ask for their dressing on the side because my salad was drenched in dressing and although tasted fine, got kind of soggy towards the end. Two orders came out to about $ 16 and was enough food to fill us up. This place is pretty close to where I live so when looking for something quick, I’ll definitely be returning.

After a long walk through Costco, my boyfriend and his family and I came to Demo’s for a quick dinner. The place was completely empty. We ordered kabobs and spinach pie. After a certain time of the day, Demo’s switches from counter service to table service, which is weird to me. The salads came very quickly, but we waited 40+ minutes for the entrees, which were good(helped that we were starving), and spinach pie, which was a decided bleh. The syrup in the fountain must be a little messed up because my ginger ale was sickeningly sweet. The entrees are cheap($ 7-$ 13), but with spinach pie and a drink, this meal was not worth it’s $ 13.75 per person.

LOVETHISPLACE I’ve been going here with my boyfriend every weekend since we discovered it. I always get the same thing, and never get sick of it – large salad, chicken kabob and toasted pita bread= 6 bucks! my bf get the lamb and i like it, Maybe the lamb doesn’t taste like it would in a very high end restaurant, but it still is good! I’ve never had a bad experience. The prices are great, the service is nice(I cut them slack for being a bit slow at times when it’s busy, and also because the same guys are there day in and day out) and the guys there are so nice Love coming here HIGHLY reccomed it for a cheap and yummy meal!

I’ve been going here with my boyfriend non stop since I discovered it. I always get the same thing, and never get sick of it – lamb kabob sandwich, extra feta with a side of fries. Maybe the lamb doesn’t taste like it would in a very high end restaurant, but it still is good! I’ve never had a bad experience. The prices are great, the service is nice(I cut them slack for being a bit slow at times when it’s busy, and also because the same guys are there day in and day out) and the guys there are real nice(they’re also friends with my boyfriend). You can just get your food served to you, and you don’t have to leave a tip, but I choose to. The art on the walls is even nice – framed pictures of Greece. It’s clean and relatively comfortable. I don’t know about what Mark O. was talking about in his review, because we are never charged for water unless it’s in the bottle. I always leave feeling full, but not like most restaurants where you feel overloaded with unhealthy food. I always leave feeling healthy because of the lettuce. Perhaps the kabob salad and sandwiches may not have HEAVY flavor, but the taste is just right, and satisfies my taste buds. The kabob sandwiches wouldn’t taste good if they were drenched in blue dressing.(in reference to a previous review about someone complaining about the lack of dressings there other than the house vinegrette) I can’t find one thing to complain about. I’m always happy to go there; and based on my other reviews – I can be a PICKYEATER. Demos rocks.

Demo’s offers several lunch dishes for under 10 bucks. They have smaller portion Kebabs which seem to be a hit. If you’ve had a chance to look at the menu and can’t make up your mind I’d say the Kebabs are a safe bet. I’ve had a few different dishes and although I do like them I don’t think they are stellar. My opinion is that they are cooking some of my favorite dishes in large batches a couple times a week. The moussaka is decent, however the 2 times I’ve gotten it the middle was cold while the outside was warm. I’m sure I’d order this more often if it was piping hot. The meatloaf is pretty much the same deal as the moussaka, somewhat tasty but seems to be hit or miss on the temperature. It’s also covered in a very bland red sauce. This dish has serious potential to be top notch but never seems to deliver anything better than average. I’ve had the Gyro here and it’s pretty much your standard frozen meat heated on the grill. Not the traditional Gyro you would find cooking on a spit soaking up wonderful juices from fat. It’s a family restaurant and certainly has that feel to it. When you are done eating you can just leave your dishes on the table and someone comes around and picks them all up. The décor is old and dreary but I think that’s the look they are going for. It’s clean and the tables are always wiped down. The staff is friendly and in my opinion is the reason they got the 3rd star on this review. This place is in my weekly lunch rotation. I think it’s because we eat a lot of Asian food and this is something different. I’m sure my coworkers like it here more than I do. I just think it’s an average place that serves average food but then again the prices are inline with what you get.

I really want to give this place 5 stars as in it is PERFECT, but what place is perfect all the time, huh? I’ve been coming here for years and years since it is near my house and it never fails to make me pat my full belly, say«that was gooood» and be ready to come back again another time soon. I always get the chicken kebob open faced sandwich which comes as crunchy iceberg lettuce with a perfect amount of vinegar based dressing, feta cheese, tomato, and grilled chicken pieces with onion and green pepper on a stick. Then they put a full piece of pita bread on top. Everytime I have come the chicken is perfectly grilled(juicy, but grilled on the outside), and the salad is seasoned not too heavily. I always cut up my chicken, and stuff it into the pita and make my own wrap. I kind of get food everywhere in the process, but it’s worth it! Their side order of hummus is sooo tasty; not too thick and you can really taste the chickpeas… I think they sprinkle some paprika on top too as well as more pita bread. I’ve only been here for lunch and an early dinner but it’s nothing fancy(i admit I wore some fleece pj’s there for lunch… whatever everyone was jealous of my styleee). You order at the counter, and go sit and wait for your number and when it’s called you pay then. It’s a neighborhood, casual restaurant that if you’re in the hood you should stop by for kebobs where you will be happy, surprised at how good the food was and full when you leave.
