Courtyard by Marriott

Stayed first time in Dec. 2015. Great experience, great staff. Great breakfast for $ 10.95, if you request it be added to your bill, way better than any «free breakfast included» hotels. I’m disabled, and they went out of their way to accomodate me. We’ll be back.

We stayed here with our wedding party on our wedding weekend. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better experience, especially because Laurie at the front desk was so helpful. She helped us in so many ways, from organizing the welcome baskets to making sure our guests were all staying in the same area of the hotel. She was like our concierge. Outstanding service.
The rooms were nice and clean, exactly what you’d expect at this price point. Breakfast was good. Very, very happy we chose this hotel. We highly recommend.

I love the walk in showers in the accessible rooms! They actually have two shower heads, with separate water controls, which makes for a very comfortable shower. And the water pressure and temps are wonderful. You will be refreshed and revitalized.
The parking is convenient, the Starbucks themed restaurant is quick and convenient, and the climate controls in the room are responsive. Close to Kohl’s and Trader Joe’s and all the fun stores.

This Courtyard by Marriott is really all I could ask for in an «economical hotel». Not a bad place to be holed up for a few days and the front desk is really helpful, even at 1AM.
Check in was painless, check out was painless, the TV worked, the heater worked, the place was clean, they had food and water at the front and were more than accommodating when trying to find me a way to the airport. They even offered to call various cab companies to ensure I got one that took credit card for me should I need it.
The location was pretty awesome as well. It was near various fast food restaurants, the mall and a Mimi’s Café. They were all within walking distance which, for once, was important to me because an emergency called my taxi driver/​coworker away and I was holed up in the hotel a whole lot.
Definitely recommend this hotel. (OH! And free Wi-​Fi that was actually fast enough to do something on!)

Hadn’t stayed at the CBM in the past on my trips to des moines, but may be a go to place in the future.
Located in the new jackson creek area, there is tons of shopping/​restaurants. Hotel itself seemed freshly updated and well maintained.
Desk staff were very helpful and friendly. I didn’t use any of the other services (like the café) so I can’t comment there. No buffet at this location.
All in all, good visit.

Stayed here for work a few times and highly recommend it! I prefer staying at Courtyards and this one is a cut above the rest. All rooms and public spaces are very modern and very clean. Went to the bar a few time for drinks and then in the morning for a quick bite and some coffee. Will stay again.

Had the opportunity to live at this Marriott last week & have to say in the plethora of Marriotts in the Des Moines area, this one is 1 of my faves
Nice décor & lighting in the rooms — lots of lamps & spotlight thingys to give it just the right amount of ambiance. LOTS of channels to choose on the tv
Beds were standard — not too soft & not too hard. Pillows were just on the bad side of comfortable — they were pretty fluffy but still gave me a neck-​ache during the night but towards the end of my week there, we found a happy medium
Shower pressure is okay but the water doesn’t get very hot. It’s hot, don’t get me wrong but not as hot as I would have liked & I had it cranked all the way up

«Market» offers SBux coffee drinkys so no need to even leave the building (if you don’t want to… but I did)
Close to the highways & nearby to just about everywhere I needed to go. Chain Restaurants aplenty are within a 5 min drive & THE mall (including a ginormous Century Cinemas) is within walking distance… what’s not to love!

My family stayed at this Marriott Courtyard during a recent visit to Des Moines. I was actually pretty surprised at how nice it is. The rooms were clean and attractive, there are conference rooms on site, and there is also a mini grocery store that sells a few microwaveable meals and even beer and wine. There is a large lounge with individual televisions or computer stations (I’m not sure which, I didn’t use them), and a coffee bar on site where you can get a latte, bagel, or scone.
All of the staff members were very friendly and attentive. A maintenance worker who saw me walking down the hallway toward the elevators with my hands full not only stopped to call the elevator for me, but also pushed the button for my floor.
Overall, a surprisingly great place to stay in Des Moines.
