The owner is extremely rude. I’ve been here several times as I’ve lived on the same block for almost 10 years. The last time I was there the owner yelled at me for using my card and told me «this is the problem with America– young people are using their credit card, spending money they don’t have.» I first informed him I’m in my 30s. Obviously he’s a disgruntled gentleman. And that I have plenty of money, I just was raised to think all money is dirty and I prefer using my debit card when I’m out instead of touching money that the rest of the general public has as well. Therefore because of these harsh words I do not endorse this business, regardless of how much I love breakfast food — I will not be returning. There are plenty of other good businesses I can buy breakfast food at.

Well, it was nice while it lasted. And it lasted YEARS! I always and only bought the bagels and a pound of their outstanding strawberry cream cheese when I had a Groupon coupon for $ 11. Now I’ve been told there is A LIFETIMELIMITOFTHREEGROUPONS for their bagels and cream cheese deal. As IF I might now buy their bagels at full price. Um, yeah, right. Au revoir, What A Bagel, it was nice knowing you. WAIT, there’s more! If this place doesn’t want to honor ANY coupons, JUSTSAYSO. We were given a certificate(cost, $ 4.) for $ 10. worth of take-out or eat-in. Or so we thought. Ummm, not so fast, says this bagel joint. Here’s the real deal, in the fine print: In order to redeem the certificate, you have to spend $ 30. on weekends, $ 20. during the week, to get $ 10. off. So, in order to get a not so generous $ 6. discount on $ 30.(or $ 20.) I MUST spend $ 20.(or $ 10.) on a certificate that already cost $ 4. Ummmm, is it me? No, I won’t go back during the week. Once again, so much for this bagel joint.

If you like rude, slow and inattentive service, this is the place for you. The staff does seem to like each other though. They spend a lot of time talking to each other. Who cares about the bagels?

Bagels are good, but what’s grinding my gears are the rude women that staff the counter. I’ve gotten attitude from them numerous times, and they just don’t seem to understand that they are there to serve customers, not to do them a favor. The owner is often around but doesn’t seem to be able to teach his workers how to act towards customers. They really must work on their customer service or people will just go elsewhere.

Ever need fresh baked, light and delicious Bagels, What a Bagel is the only place I would recommend in White Plains… My only negative issue about this place is the servers…

I just want to know why the owner(I assume the guy with the fanny pack) has to be such a terrible person with such distain for life. Bottom line he is a total ahole with a serious lack of customer service. You should learn to treat people better because you never know what type of business you will lose, especially if it is from a major employer in the area!!!

The bagels: pretty darn good The coffee: Green Mountain. No complaints The staff: pretty terrible; slow, non-communicative, not friendly, did I mention slow? Summary: if you’re the only one there when you order, you should be fine. If there’s any kind of a line, buckle up. You’re going to be there a while & at that point, just go to the diner next door.

Great bagels, but customer service is very rude and unwelcoming, not to mention they gave me incorrect change on several occasions. Because of that I just decided to spend my $ somewhere else. I like to start my mornings as pleasant as possible. But if that doesn’t bother you, the breakfast and bagels are good.

We buy bagels here every sunday morning. This is my fav store to buy bagels but last time we went there, the whole wheat ones were a lil overdone. Overall, thieir bagels are pretty good.

Very good bagels and good selection. They also make great muffins, altho they are a bit sweet, and great sandwiches. The staff is a bit curt but, they are trying to work as fast as they can. I would recommend this place.

Best bagels in White Plains, for sure. The bagels are complimented by a huge selection of Green Mountain coffee, unrivaled by anyone else in the area. Ron, the owner, is a very nice guy, and works just as hard as his employees — often, you’ll find Ron himself behind the counter putting together your Nova and cream cheese with onions on a sesame bagel(my personal favorite). Prices are reasonable, not at all like some of the«authentic» Manhattan knockoffs in Westchester County. If you want a great, quick breakfast on the go, this is your spot.

What A Bagel is my favorite bagel place in the area. They’re not the best bagel I’ve ever had, but, for the general White Plains area, it’s our go-to. The selection of different kinds of bagels, flagels, and muffins is nice, and there are a ton of different cream cheeses to choose from. The typical plain and veggie(regular and lite) to olive, garlic & herb, herb & bacon(not the right name), and the list goes on. Bagels and cream cheese are always fresh. They also have a nice variety of Green Mountain coffee selections. For lunch, they have a full deli, and their bagel sandwiches are awesome. Not a whole lot of room to sit, but if you’re searching for a good bagel and cup of coffee in the morning, I’d look no further.

This place use to be great but it’s a dump now. Don’t know what happened, but sorely disappointed. I would go here all the time with or without a voucher because the bagels were great. Searching for a new place now. Hopefully this owner gets his act together & cleans the place up if letter grades were handed out like in NYC this place would be a C !!!

Great bagels, & the cream cheeses are so good!!! I tried the veggie, plain, strawberry & cinnamon raisin walnut. They were all very good, but the cinnamon raisin walnut was unique to me & my favorite! Strawberry was my other favorite w/bits of strawberry! Prices are average to me, & parking is out front on the street… which is fine with me, as I was able to find a spot right in front. I got my stuff to go in the afternoon, which was fast, friendly & there were still a good selection of bagels. I will be back, for sure!

I had a voucher and used it to get my coworkers some breakfast one morning. I expected nicer looking digs and it looked more like a convenience store but I had no choice so I used my voucher. The staff was somewhat helpful with a tinge of annoyance. It almost seemed as though they were upset that I was using a voucher, despite the fact that I purchased a lot more that the voucher supplied. For the record, had it not been for the voucher, I wouldn’t even know this place existed and I have driven past it on numerous occasions.

If you need a little masochism in your life, «What A Bagel» is the perfect place to go. The bagels themselves are pretty decent, but the customer service is horrible. They have a sign that says, «Don’t worry, our staff is accustomed to dumb questions.» I have a question. Why should I buy a bagel from a place that treats me like an idiot?
