I went here for dinner the Saturday of Labor Day with my boyfriend. I Unilocaled it before hand and saw it had pretty good reviews. I feel like most of the places down the shore rely on their location and tourist traffic to stay afloat, but this placed seem to have merits of its own and also didn’t seem to be a typical shore joint. In the end, it’s nothing special, at all. Now, there are degrees of nothing special-ness. Sometimes there’s comfort in that, because it’s a safe bet, something that’s familiar and tried and true. For example, you don’t go to burger joints to experience anything new really. You know what a burger tastes like and they are only so many ways it could be different. That’s just reliability. But when you expect something special and don’t get it, that’s a bad kind. This place seemed like an upgrade from the greasy, fried fare of the Boardwalk and it was pretty jus, a good sign of course, but the food was really uncreative and uninspired. What makes a place something worthy of checking out is the chefs vision and what reason these people gave to open this place, what they felt they could do differently. I don’t see that. There is no purpose. It’s just… boring. The food isn’t bad, and I’m not one to complain about something bring overpriced usually, but you easily put together this meal from a few things from the Shoprite deli case. The crab cakes were great, I’ll give them that, but when played with some steamed, bland asparagus spears, boiled Uncle Bens rice, a spoonful of diced tomatoes and mustard mixed with mayo to be passed off as an aioli, you lose all points those crab cakes got you. If you’re looking for a «nice dinner out» this place is fine for people who don’t know any better, but the food lacking any kind of passion behind it isn’t worth ~$ 30 per person.

An unexpected find during a quick trip to Wildwood from Cape May. Surprisingly good linguine with white clam sauce. Tender Little Neck clams in the shell, flavorful sauce, crushed red pepper. Might be a little too soupy for some, but I like it that way. Great for dipping Italian bread afterwards! I’d come back for that dish.

Came here for restaurant week and was pleasantly surprised. Nice interior décor, great location by the boardwalk. Everything I got(arancini, veal, salad, peanut butter mud pie) was extremely good, especially the dessert. Everyone loved their respective meals and the service was very nice as well. Overall a nicer restaurant than expected and would definitely come back. Recommend making reservations as it gets very crowded during summer weekends.

The chicken sandwich/cod tacos/shrimp and scallop risotto/tomato bisque/waitress/ambiance were all fantastic. Brought my wife here for a romantic dinner just so happened to be motorcycle week. Regardless the staff was very welcoming and nice

Excellent! Food was great and amazing service! Our waitress, Sam, was super friendly and had great recommendations for food & drinks. The owner is also really nice and friendly. We spoke to her for quite a bit. The ambiance, décor and everything is lovely. We came to this restaurant a couple of times during our holiday weekend visit to Wildwood. Will definitely come back next year.

Solid four star surprise of a meal here. Don’t let the name mislead you, this is a well appointed dining spot. The décor is thoughtful and aesthetically pleasing(even if all the pictures are hung askew.) Service was excellent, atmosphere on the loud side but not oppressively so. House bread was warm and had a lot flavor, like a very mild sourdough. Polenta cake appetizer was terrific, crusty and creamy with well seasoned spinach and mushrooms. Did come with what we later learned was a red pepper sauce that tasted more like sour cream + horseradish, but not in a bad way. Eggplant crepes were also good, if a bit heavy on the breading. Marinara sauce tasted home made. Both appetizers were small enough to not overwhelm the appetite but big enough for two to share. As an entrée, the clams and linguine in white sauce was a pleasant surprise. This hit all the requisite basics and had exceptional seasoning– albeit unexpectedly hot, which could be an issue with some diners. Busy location, adjoining bar, so not ideal for quiet conversation; nevertheless an unexpected pleasure.

Nice American restaurant with a modern, classy ambiance, and a large patio, that is very nice. They have an excellent beer selection. Being from Upstate NY, I was pleased to see Ommegang Brewery from Cooperstown represented on the beer list. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a peek at the wine list, though I’m sure it’s decent. The menu runs the gamut from seafood options, to veal, steak, and chicken, and the preparations are all very modern. Our food both times we’ve been has been delicious, properly cooked, and fresh. They have a kids menu too, and our little one enjoyed her hand made chicken strips. Wildwood suffers from a tourist trap mindset, and most of the restaurants are average at best. But Jersey Girl is no tourist trap, and it’s a notch above other eateries in the area.

Fantastic service, really good food. We went with 2 other couples, all with very young kids around 3 yo. Were seated exactly when our reservations were, got everything we could have asked, got it quickly, and staff was very accommodating. Food was great as well. I had the hanger steak, perfect, and pretty much everyone at the table enjoyed their food. We’ve been here twice before, and will definitely be back.

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside. When we stopped in a few days ago we were actually on our way somewhere else but noticed there were seats available outside at Jersey Girl and took a shot. We are so glad we did! I love that Wildwood has a restaurant that gives you a nice dinner option besides boardwalk pizza and funnel cake! The tomato bisque soup was amazing. My husband is still talking about it. He also got the Veal which he loved. I got the pear salad and spaghetti and clams and both were so delicious. We will definitely make this a stop when we go to wildwood from now on! Friendly service and beautiful décor inside. My only complaint is that outside we were sitting near the corner where planters of flowers sat. They attracted a LOT of bees. We were constantly jumpy the whole dinner for fear of getting stung. Other than that, great experience!!!

I’m trying to remember to take pictures. Mussels with the sauce was good. If you like mussels order it. Shrimp and grits have bacon bit so warning to my no swine family. I ordered scallops and shrimp which was good and the scallops are large. You’ll be getting three large shrimps and scallops.

Have been here two years in a row and both times gotten the crab stuffed shrimp. It comes with rice pilaf and asparagus – delicious! Love their warm fresh bread. Good kids’ meals and one child got the corn crab chowder – it was delicious, just a little spicy. Pricey – $ 25 – 30 for seafood, but it is nice!

This restaurant is a bit more expensive then the others in Wildwood but worth it. The food was very good and presented as priced. No ocean view but they have a nice patio. If you are tired of boardwalk food and willing to pay a bit more, then this is the right place for you.

I’ve gone to Wildwood every summer since childhood and have eaten at most of the restaurants in town. I can tell you that Jersey Girl is one of the best restaurants on the island! It opened about 7 – 8 years ago, but this was my first visit. Wish I hadn’t waited so long! Will now be one of our regular dinner stops. Visited at 8pm on a Saturday in July. There was a short wait, so we had a drink at the bar. Nice list of specialty cocktails and beer selection. Drink special was a $ 6 sangria, red or white. Service was outstanding! Our waitress was very attentive and the food arrived at a perfect pace– not rushed, but not waiting too long between courses. Ordered the crab dip appetizer, corn & crab chowder, veal hunter and stuffed shrimp entrees. Everything was cooked to perfection! Really can’t say enough about the quality and taste of the food. Chowder was the highlight of the entire meal. Desserts on other tables looked incredible, but we were just too stuffed. I thought the prices were just right for a more upscale restaurant in Wildwood. Apps were in the $ 10 range and entrees in the $ 20s. Nice ambiance in the bar/waiting area with an acoustic guitar playing. Debbie(must be the manager/owner) made us feel like VIPs and truly made our dining experience memorable. Highly recommended!

We went for the early special, which is 2 meals for $ 25.00. There were four wonderful choices from which we both choose the Chicken Milanese. The chickenwas served over pasta with pesto and salad greens. My husband added the tomato bisque soup and I added the house salad for an additional $ 3.00 each. The service was wonderful, our water glasses were never empty and the entrees were served piping hot. We shared the whisky bourbon bread pudding and it was heavenly! We will definitely be returning. An added bonus, our parking was validated directly across the street. Even the parking attendant was pleasant.

Great spot for a nicer meal in Wildwood. Hidden among the plethora of pubs, pizza joints, and diners, the more(relatively) upscale Jersey Girl seemed strangely out of place when we walked in, but don’t worry, it was still relaxed/casual. Starving, we wanted to order the crab dip to start. Sensing our hesitation with eating more chips after inhaling multiple bags earlier in the day, the waitress subbed bread and flatbreads instead. Thank goodness, because the crab dip was delicious. As an entrée, I ordered the salmon sandwich, which was fine(but nothing special). Still, bumping up to 5 stars because of the outstanding service and atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating, drinks and food came out at the exact right times, and waters were refilled like it was an olympic sport. A guitarist played Kimberly H.‘s «entire iTunes library,» she claimed. Overall, a great spot for a nice meal in Wildwood!

Meal was exceptional and service impeccable. Simple, contemporary, kind, and fast! Water was never let less than half full before a refill, empty drinks sat less than a minute, and our server Sandy was really kind and knew what she was doing. Hostess was kind on the phone beforehand as we had some questions. Reasonably priced and specials seem to rotate. Top it off, we had live music and he was fantastic. We will be back, don’t let this place pass you by!

Veal Hunter and Pork Chop tasted amazing. Not to mention the warm bread really hit the spot. I only gave three stars as the clams and linguini was a bit over salted and issues with new computer systems didn’t allow us to split credit cards between other members of the party. If you want to enjoy happy hour make sure to sit in the bar area as it does not apply to the dining room!

My sister and I stumbled upon this place thanks to a quick search via Unilocal, and I’m so glad we did! Jersey Girl is an all around, solid 5 stars. First off, the atmosphere is on point. Fancy enough to take your date there, but laid back enough to dress casually. Definitely a fresh looking restaurant with hip and modern décor. What I love about these New American restaurants is their eclectic menus. I love all types of cuisines so to see all genres of food jumbled together makes me happy. My only gripe is there weren’t many vegetarian options on the menu. But hey, you can’t have everything. I ordered a side salad that was crisp, perfectly portioned, and came with a unique balsamic dressing. For my main course I got the spring rolls. Definitely blows the spring rolls you’re used to eating at your local Chinese food spot out of the water. The plate was sprinkled with a tangy citrus sauce, and a dollop of seaweed salad came in the middle. The seaweed salad was a little sweet for my taste. But altogether the dish was beautifully presented and super tasty. The service was good and the prices were appropriate. It’s located right off the boardwalk so it’s super convenient as well. With all the aforementioned awesomeness, there is no reason why you shouldn’t try this place out.
