Very rude service. I would never return. My latte tasted very odd in a bad way. When I politely brought this to the attention of the barista she reluctantly gave me a different drink but after stating«I don’t understand what the issue is.» Later she approached me at my table to explain why she thought I didn’t like my latte and concluded with«Maybe it’s just because you have never had actual quality espresso before.» A coffee shop should be able to handle having a customer who is dissatisfied with their drink. I would recommend more customer service training for employees of this coffee shop.

The girl who took my order a couple weeks ago was dismissive and had an attitude. I simply asked her what an acoustic java was and she said with attitude that it was JUST iced coffee like okay, I get it, you hate your job. Overall, the lattes are good and the place is cozy and relaxing. You’ll meet and talk to one or two interesting people there as well. However, the drinks are good if you’re willing to pay $ 5 or so.

Wonderful café! Ordered an Americano and was pleasantly surprised that it was so rich. Not too crowded on Sundays for getting work done, and the service was great. Free wifi!

Went to find some vegan cookies and unfortunately there were out so they had a vegan scone in the shelf and it was not what I expected, I can make better at home… Will try again soon on the cookies.

Not really sure what’s so great about this place. I got an iced coffee with chocolate in it and a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. The iced coffee was very watered down. The bacon egg and cheese was the only redeeming quality of my order, it was pretty tasty. My fiancé ordered a small coffee in a medium cup. The person at the register said she would have to charge him for a medium. So she charged him for extra paper? What’s he going to do, sneak in extra coffee from his back pocket to save some dimes? The fuck is that all about? His coffee tasted like dunkin’s… watery. Won’t be going back.

Great atmosphere for a coffeeshop, probably the best in the area. The coffee itself is pretty good too. The cappuccinos weren’t the best I’ve ever had, but still pretty good and you can get them in a mug, which is rare around here. There’s a surprisingly extensive food menu for a coffeeshop, a lot of which is made with local products. The BLT is excellent.

Delicious assortment of veg-friendly sandwich food and coffee. Offers soy and almondmilk options. Wish there was a larger seating area but that’s about it. It’s not too packed on weekdays so you can always get a seat. Nice to have a local coffeehouse.

This place was busy as students were in and out. Nice atmosphere but not alot of seating. It’s close to my apartment so I expect to spend a lot of time here. Overall a nice place. Love the library of books.

Coffee: pretty darn good and HOT(vs tepid coffee, which drives me up the wall…). Their mocha latte was quite delicious. Pastries: N/A, my friend and I did not try, so we cannot comment… yet. Service: Good! But, what sets A. Java apart from other similar joints is its AMBIANCE. I love the packed bookshelves. L O V E. It’s a great place to catch up with an old friend over a cup of deliciousness or to get a little studying or reading done(there’s free wifi). But, because it is busy and crowded, it is NOT ideal for multiple hours of intense studying(ie the Bar or the Boards) or for super romantic dates, so, be forewarned!

Good coffee, nice and cozy ambience with a bit of a hipster crowd from Clark U. Our lattes were good and I appreciate the craftsmanship and passion of the baristas. It is not my number one coffee in Worcester but definitely my top three place. I need to try their paninis next time. I hear they are good.

Excellent food, good coffee, … …slightly snobby owner — but hey, I’m not there to make friends, I’m here to drink coffee and avoid the crazy people that wander around the Clark U. area. So mission accomplished.

Hit or miss. This is a place I really wanted to love. Recently moving to Worcester, I searched for a coffee shop that provides a good relaxed setting that I could not only bring my girlfriend to, but work on my laptop at. This is what Acoustic Java does best. It brings a peaceful atmosphere with a library of interesting books, free wi-fi, and comfortable seating. Unfortunately, it falls short with its main product — coffee. Sometimes burnt, sometimes overly bitter, sometimes watery, sometimes right on, this hole in the wall coffee ship delivers a mediocre coffee that greatly fluctuates on its taste day to day. And that’s what a good coffee shop is all about — consistently good coffee. Without this staple, It’s hard to return day after day for a $ 2.13 cup of coffee. So, unfortunately, Acoustic Java will not be my daily routine stop for a good cup of coffee. And that’s just disappointing, I was really intrigued by their promise of a good java.

Nice little café, decent variety of sandwichs and salads, some vegetarian options. Usual assortment of hot and cold beverages. Prices are about Starbucks grade. Some pastries and snacks available as well. Friendly and attentive staff. Tables ideal for 1 or 2, maybe 3. Music on the louder side, but it’s not bad if you’re here to do work, goes well with the ambiance. Local artwork around the walls, shelves of books if you’re bored. There’s a bathroom but it’s situated awkwardly close to the kitchen, so you have to go behind the counter, but it’s clean and stocked.

I’ve run out of Dean’s Bean’s coffee today, with no hope of getting more until the weekend. This qualifies as a Defcon 1, «Turn your key, sir…» emergency, so I punch«Worcester coffee roasters» into Google hoping to find something better than pedestrian Starbucks. Up pops Acoustic Java, a coffee shop on Main St. next to Clark University. My wife and I have been meaning to check this place out, but after seeing it we come across a squirrel or a shiny dime, and immediately forget. My wife is working, and the twinge of guilt I feel for going without her is quickly dispatched by the caffeinated gorilla I carry on my back. Off I go, like Ferris Bueller’s parking valet. The smell of good coffee hits you when you open the door, and when I ask the pleasant girl behind the counter for a pound of Ethiopian, she asks if I’d like medium roast or dark.“Both!” I reply, channeling Augustus Gloop. She then points out the buy two, get one free special and suggests a pound of Rwandan to complete my African coff-ari — AND would I like a free cup?! I take my coffee and my Mona Lisa smile over to a table to be a fly on the wall for a few minutes. This place is fun! My barista is sporting a variety of tats, a tasteful Tibetan monk outfit, and a Sinead O’Connor hairdo. There’s Too Skinny Euro Guy sitting in the back having a Vulcan mind meld with his Macbook. There’s one of these guys in every coffee shop, they should unionize. Snippets of conversation drift by, on one side a discussion of Christianity, yoga, and one mans claim to be a Frisbytarian. He believes that when he dies his soul goes up on the roof and he can’t get it down. On the other, someone is monologuing on the merits of speed metal ska bands. I’m totally coming back here with my wife. The coffee is top notch, and I’m pretty sure I could wear my full pelt coyote, mountain man ice fishing hat and no one would blink. In August.

This place is amazing, no doubt about it. 1) They have vegan options(that actually taste good) 2) The service is wonderful 3) The tea is magnificent 4) The culture is something that all coffee shops die to have 5) It’s my favorite part of Worcester, and definitely my favorite part of Main South.

I’m a clark student. I used to be forced to go here with my friends freshman year and I hated the guy who worked there. Anyway, as I am writing this I am soooo hungover and all I wanted was an egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. Unfortunately, Acoustic is the only thing within walking distance open on a Sunday. Paid $ 15 for a small smoothie, egg and cheese, and bacon, egg, and cheese. Smoothie was OKAY. I should actually just make myself another one right now. It took like 20 minutes to get my food and people who came in after me got served before me. Got my sandwich… on panini bread instead of croissant. If I wanted panini bread I would have asked. I wanted a croissant, or a bagel. THEEGGSAREMICROWAVEEGGS. they are not normal eggs. Its disgusting. I cant finish it. Its just sitting next to me. I WANTMYMONEYBACK. seriously, owners of acoustic java, give me my $ 15 back. This sandwich is so disgusting. How did I wait 20 minutes for microwave style eggs? I am so upset. I am FURIOUSANDDISGUSTED and kicking myself for even going to that stupid establishment. In other news, the guy that used to work there that I hated was gone. Instead, the guy who took our order was very friendly and nice and he is why this place has one star instead of 0(he, and Unilocal

Students in my coffee classes have been recommending Acoustic Java for a couple of years, yet somehow I had not made it until today. I have a mid-day meeting at Worcester State University, so I set aside most of the morning to enjoy the coffee and the space. The first thing I noticed is that this is a very well-planned space, with adequate seating for a couple dozen customers, plenty of original artwork, a nice selection of used books, and even some coffee equipment fit into a narrow storefront.(Bonus: one of the books is a John McPhee title that I had not seen before!) A variety of single-origin coffees are offered — I chose the Brazilian Monte Cristo to sip while working on planning for a coffee tour in Brazil. Specialty coffee is just emerging in Brazil, and it is great to be able to support that with a coffee certified by Rainforest Alliance. I enjoyed a very nice bagel, though I’d rather have a schmear of cream cheese than the tiny packaged version.
