Straight Up Cafe

My team and I decided to do our monthly team breakfast here — to have a nice breakfast and give back to our community at the same time. We had the place completely to ourselves the majority of the time. There was ample street parking, people walking by were friendly, and several folks in business dress came in. I realize it isn’t a great area — but we had no issues whatsoever. There were six of us, and only one employee, so I think we bombarded him a bit with all the lattes and breakfasts. But the food was simple, very inexpensive, and good — and the lattes were delicious! They honored the 25% off here on Unilocal — so I fed six people for $ 28. I think this would be a great place for a small business owner to treat staff to lunch or to take a group out for a social breakfast like we did. Be patient with the food and you’ll have a good experience — and feel good about where your money is going!

More of a community center than café. Coffee is better than dunkin but not a fine coffee experience. The place was fine but nothing special.

Cute place staff is always nice. Yes maybe not in the best of locations BUT if u understand why the place is located where it is it would make sense. I’ve always gone in the am early afternoon … Coffee is great and the few sandwiches I have got has been good. Always seeing someone smile at the counter, worth a shot don’t judge a book by its cover (location) there are many inviting places in some not so good areas

Great cause and great coffee… one of the better locally owned coffee places… food isnt too bad… im not giving 5 stars because its limited hours makes me sad and… its a bit of a sketchy neighborhood… I would love to walk there but im not familiar with the area and im not sure I totally feel safe… but I love coffee and their strong coffee is enough for me to gove them 4 stars. :)

Do NOT underestimate just how sketchy the placing of this establishment is. I read some reviews saying it is a great place, just in a bad area. I’m independent and go most places by myself anyways so I ventured to this café. The latte I ordered was delicious along with the pizza and the inside is very clean and welcoming, but seriously, the area is terrifying. If I ever go again it’ll be with my boyfriend. It’s that scary.

This place is awesome!!! Enough said! Such friendly people, great vibes, and wicked affordable. Pretty large café space, always will find a comfortable place to get work done, socialize or meet new people. :-)

I tried this place because I had a
coupon and was very pleasantly surprised. The location is not great, but the staff were very nice, the paninis I bought were delicious, as were the smoothies. Yum. Next door is an associated second-​hand store, so while you’re waiting for your order, you could go over and browse. Nice couches and comfortable surroundings where you could feel free to linger and have a nice conversation over a meal. Very nice, I’d go there again!

First. It’s a scary Main Street location. But inside is amazing. Very comfortable and clean. Tried the specialty. The waffles on a stick. They were amazing. So crunchy and soft and flavorful. I also had the sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and wow. Pressed and grilled is was better than most expensive eateries. This place is a must to support the local kids. Good delicious food, inexpensive and well worth it. I will be checking in often.

Great coffee and specials here. I got a fresh made breakfast sandwich for two dollars yesterday (TWO!) that easily tops any of the premade sandwiches from Dunkin or Starbucks. And of course, you will be supporting a good cause, which is always nice. Enjoy!

First time at «Straight Up Café» What a great place… comfortable atmosphere, great music and awesome service! Very upbeat! Will be back again and again.
PS just bought a Stall & Dean jacket for a steal!
