Holiday Inn Express Worcester Downtown

We stayed 1 night while attending a concert at the DUC center. Location to the center was awesome very short walk. The front desk clerk at check in was not very friendly. But every other one was very nice. The room we stayed in was clean and very comfortable.
I had 2 main problems with the stay.
1 the hotel had no control over. That was approximately 1am there was people throwing very larger items in a dumpster at Starbucks. This lasted about 1 to 1 ½ hours. They were extremely loud.
2 the curtains did not fit the windows in the room. This was a 2 room suite and when the sun came up so did we. It was like someone shined a spotlight in the room. The curtains need to be longer and wider.
Overall it was a nice stay.

We used this hotel for our wedding guests, half of whom flew in from Europe and don’t speak English. We had a total of something like 45 rooms, dominating half the hotel — Marie, Elizabeth, and all of the staff could not have been more amazing handling us all!
They were in great communication throughout all the planning; helped expand the block (repeatedly!) when more guests booked than we thought, they provided us with updated rosters/​bookings along the way, they asked all the right questions to make sure they were 100% prepped and ready for our weekend. They repeatedly asked if there were any other special requests we might have, and they stood at the ready to accommodate.
Our block rate was reasonable, includes the free breakfast, free parking, and free wifi, which is a huge bonus. All the rooms had fridges, which is again a huge bonus, especially for our european travelers who aren’t quite as used to eating out as often as we do. They were flexible on check-​in times for us and our guests, too.
For the cutest touches, Marie and Elizabeth bought us bride and groom cupcakes from Sweet, as well as champagne and chocolates on the night of the wedding, with a personalized note. Truly, it was such a wonderful experience, we would 100% recommend them!

Have been here numerous times… each time… no complaints… up to date and modern rooms. large screen TV… internet that works and is strong… soft large bath towels… 4 large pillow. (not the 14″ at some Hotels)… roll out desk. parking … FREE… nice selection on breakfast… great location off the highway… right downtown… YES will be back…

I’ve stayed at this hotel before and had great service. However, this time 10−18−14 at 2:00 PM, we had the front desk attendant from Hell. She had an extremely poor attitude from the get go. She argued with me for 5 minutes that I did not have a reservation, despite the fact that I had a confirmation number. The long and short of it was that she was spelling my name incorrectly. She never apologized or even cracked a smile. Her demeanor was unbelievable for someone in the service industry. Normally, you put the person with the best people skills at the entrance to your business. If she was the best they’ll never have to worry about me returning.

Very friendly welcome and staff. Room was very updated, clean and comfortable king bed. Refrigerator was included. Breakfast in the morning was sufficient with attentive nearby staff who wished us a good day upon leaving.

Stayed overnight. We were greeted by a very friendly front desk clerk who asked many questions & offered great advice! It was very hot out & she gave us cold bottles of water. The room was huge & immaculate! Air conditioner worked great. Free wi-​fi. Free continental breakfast & free coffee available in the lobby all day! I’d definitely stay here again!

This place has change owners a few times and holiday inn is by far the worst. They messed up our reservation and then tried to charge us more for the change. It is just the worst customer service.

I’d give this NO stars if I could! When we walked in we weren’t even greeted at all, and the workers were in the process of a shift change and even the one that came in gave us that evil eye, maybe it’s because we weren’t «white»! Apparently we were too loud and the surrounding guests «complained» 3 times, but we weren’t even given a fair warning and got kicked out with the threat of «you have 15 min to get out, if not then you’ll be escorted by the police»… The hilton across the street is so much nicer and bigger! And btw, your lighting sucks and not all of your outlets work!
