Recently had breakfast there after two of our favorite spots were very busy and we didn’t want to wait. Jan’s wasn’t busy so we figured we would try it. Well now we know why it wasn’t busy. Even though there were only a few people in the restaurant the service was slow, the food was slow to come. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. if I had to do it over again I would have waited at one of the other local places. It could also use some updatingand cleaning. Everything seemed worn

Jans is a classic I love the homey feel and how delicious and massive the portions are. The staff is usually very busy so they might be a little rude sometimes but I understand that they’re stressed. The chef sometimes I noticed doesn’t wash her hands– which is disturbing. But anyways– The food is always 10⁄10 always fresh and delicious. It’s annoying that it’s cash only

Stopped in here this morning for breakfast and was horrified. I tend to only post good reviews for places that I really enjoyed & I was very hesitant to post this review but feel that it is only fair. When my husband and I walked in they were dirty dishes all over the counters and all over the back counter I guess their dishwasher person never showed up for his scheduled shift today. The one waitress ignored us for about 10 minutes and finally came over and cleared the dirty dishes off of the counter but did not wipe it down. Another 10 minutes went by and I was brought coffee. Another 10 minutes went by and I had to ask for some milk. At that point I decided not to even order food however my husband ordered the Grand Slam. The food looked wonderful and he really enjoyed his meal but I was just too grossed out to eat anything. The chef was working nonstop behind the counter trying to fulfill all the orders but the waitress seemed more intent on grumbling and complaining about the dishwasher and how her day was going then taking care of the actual customers. It was disappointing I will not be back.

The food is always excellent and the service is always quick and friendly. Old fashioned counter set up is fun and interesting. If you’re brave, they have a giant pancake challenge. one wall is covered in pictures of those who could eat it

I’ve visited here a few times and have never been disappointed. The omelettes are huge as are the pancakes and the food is delicious. I had a veggie omelette and it was loaded with veggies which is what I love. The homefries were also delicious and the breakfast was very filling. It’s a small townish kind of atmosphere with the seating so you’ll most likely make friends with the people sitting beside you. The service is friendly and attentive, the food is great and the overall ambience was pleasant. Definitely will continue coming here.

Nearly a five star— ginormous omelettes, with plenty of filling! I prefer shredded potato for home fries, and theirs are large chunks of fresh potatoes(a tad undercooked) but with delish seasoning. It’s a matter of preference, right? My g/f had the hash and thought it was great. It was busy, but we were able to sit without a wait. Getting served took a bit, but it was interesting to check out the layout and unique setting– most def a diner, but fun. We will be back to try other items for sure. Great prices for the quality and large quantities!

Cute little breakfast bar. The service is fast and great. Holy moly the omelettes they serve are huge, I couldn’t finish quarter of it, delicious and awesome for the price. You get continued refills for coffee and teas. Just a heads up, don’t wait to be seated, if someone leaves go and have seat, that’s how it works. Would definitely go back.

Home fries vary as much as all shades of green in May. I was searching for a place that makes good home fries, this place is it. Awesome breakfast choices, best of all tomato juice. For some one who hates all forms of citrus, it’s a godsend. Great job, Jan’s

When you get tired of waiting in line at Lou Roc’s, Jan’s is right down the street, same great breakfast food, lunch and great coffee. Pancakes are very large, home fries are always seasoned well and the egg dishes are enough for two.

Didn’t even make it to the good part. We waited 15 min for seats to open up(not a big deal) but then the 2 people that came after us walked in, sat down next to us, talked about how their arrival was well-timed, got their area cleared by the waitress, ordered coffee, and had coffee brought to them while we were still un-acknowledged and still had leftover food plates right in front of us. When I mentioned it her thin response was, «they were already here.» I thought she was kidding. She didn’t seem to care and they moved really slow so we left.

Walked in with my five year old for breakfast last Friday and the joint was a hopping. Had to check the calendar to make sure this wasn’t a weekend day. Only single seats available at the thee counters. Thankfully a college student moved over so we could sit together. Should not there are no tables here. We did have to wait for our section of the counter to be cleared off which took a bit of time. There was only one waitress for the two dozen seats. We actually ordered the same time as the person next to us, but he was finished with his meal by the time we were served. I had the Big Slam, two egg bacon sausage toast hf pancakes or waffle juice and coffee. Food was delicious, and there was plenty of it(see posted pictures). Matter of fact, in this case I was not up to the challenge and couldn’t clear my plates.

Love it! Small but great diner-type place worth trying if you’re in the neighborhood(or even if you’re not). Disclaimer — I’ve only ever gotten breakfast foods there because it is SOGOOD. They serve lunch and appetizer type foods which I need to try sometime, I just can’t resist their breakfast! The food is delicious and priced right. They give you great sized servings, too. The eggs are always good as are their omelets(yum — try the steak and cheese omelet. Even the veggie omelet is GREAT). They’ll substitute egg beaters if you’re in a healthy type mood. The bacon is always cooked incredibly well! The home fries(standard with many meals) are always delish. As far as atmosphere — it’s a typical diner type restaurant. It’s well kept for a diner. When they’re super busy you may have to sit down in a spot they’ve yet to clean(gasp) but go ahead and sit down, they’ll come right over and clean it up for you and get your drink order. The waitresses are fun to talk with and on their game when it comes to taking /delivering your order. The cook/owner(Amanda) is usually too busy to chat, but is super friendly when she does have a moment to talk. I’ve NEVER had a bad meal here, nor a bad experience. And I’ve been here dozens of times. My only complaint is they need a bigger place so I don’t need to wait on Sundays! :) (FYI for first timers): The place does get busy on weekends(of course) and keeps breakfast /lunch hours only. Also, they only take cash — so know that before you get there.(Worst case — there’s a nearby ATM they send people down to — no biggie). And it’s all counter seating(they have this big zigzag countertop) — there are no booths or private tables. Just wait until a spot opens up and go plunk yourself down and get ready for a really satisfying breakfast!
