Tom’s International Deli

We order lunch from here once a week. I never venture away from the traditional polish food because it’s excellent. Great prices and it tastes like grandma used to make. I wish they’d put some more sauce on their stuffed cabbages, but overall the pierogis, chicken cutlets, everything is great. Every Wednesday afternoon I’m in a food coma after my polish platter special!

I was playing a gig at Electric Haze one night, and someone had left a couple of boxes of pierogis on a «community» table. Typically I wouldn’t be one to opt for unknown food off of a community table, but on this particular evening I had rushed from work to the gig, it was past midnight, and I really like pierogis. So I grab a couple and go for it. They were amazing. The potato and cheese filled pierogis were perfection.
I inquired about the delicious food I had found and come to find out the place is still open (past midnight), and it’s roughly 4 doors down!
Needless to say, pierogis were had by all! They also make ridiculously good sandwiches on fresh bread, serve candied bacon.
All in all this place is pretty great. The best part though, the super nice lady answers the phone and says, «Midnight munchies. What ya cravin’?» Ha.

Great late night delivery. Unique option @2am on a Saturday. Get a link of kielbasa and the spinach and cheese pierogis smothered in caramelized onions and bacon.

I love the food at toms but: yesterday I flew into Albany Airport and driving home planned to stop at toms for food. It was an hour and a half away and I was looking forward to a Reuben as a friend of mine had one recently. when I got there I ordered one and it was close to closing but they told me they had no more rye bread no pumpernickel the only thing they had was sub rolls. They are located in an area with several great bakeries so they could have gone across the street to get some bread or the local market. There were 3 people working and it was very quiet when I was there. I just feel they didn’t really care about their customers cuz if customer service was top on the list they would have made sure they had bread. the food was good that I got but they really ticked me off

I love this place. I’ve gone a few times now, and each time is a wonderful experience. I’ve had different sandwiches, all of which were amazing. Just as other Unilocalers have said, the hot kielbasa sandwiches are perfect: doesn’t taste oily, nor does it weigh you down. Also, the pierogies are light and airy, with a nice soft dough.
Their deli meats are fresh and sliced perfectly thin. They also have cream cheeses — each of which taste wonderful, and are super soft and airy without feeling whipped.
Overall great place to get fresh ingredients or a quick lunch to go!

This is my choice for a polish market on Millbury Street. The items are fresher, and I have yet to find expired products on the shelves like at Golemo across the street. Cleaner too.

Holy Polska!
Was in Worcester for a family thing and ended up here for lunch. Being an ‘ethnic’ myself and growing up in an ethnic neighborhood, I immediately fell in love.
An immaculate store that’s stocked to the brim with any type of Polish/​Eastern European goodie you can think of. Amazing pickles, smoked fish and any type of cured meat you could think of is behind the counter. My father in law and I opted for a kielbasa sandwich with sauerkraut and onions on a roll. Easily the best sandwich I’ve tried this year. Perfectly cooked kielbasa, sliced really thin with a generous portion of sauerkraut and fresh cut onions. PERFECT Saturday lunch sandwich. You could tell they made the sandwiches with a lot of love. The kielbasa wasn’t oily or dense, I mean I could go ad naseum about how good this sandwich was!
Well, for what ended up to be 4 sandwiches, a few bags of chips and some sides of coleslaw, I think it was like 20 something bucks, which was amazing since you’d probably pay double in a Boston or New York. The two folks behind the counter were super friendly and actually told us about the history of the store and how they’ve been catering to the Polish population here in Worcester forever.
Although I live an hour and change away from Tom’s I will happily take the drive in the near future to stock up on ethnic goodies and get amazing sandwiches!

I ordered delivery from the late night menu at around 7 PM. I ordered an Italian sub and asked for extra oil. What they failed to tell me was they also put mayonnaise on it, common sense dictates that this SHOULD be mentioned. If it had been mentioned I would have asked for there to be no mayo — who the hell wants mayo AND oil? So needless to say my $ 9.00 sub was a huge sloppy mess that fell apart and we never ate it. In addition to this, there was mostly ham in it, there was salami but it wasn’t genoa so it wasn’t that great. I asked for no mortadella but I didn’t want extra ham, if I wanted a ham sub I would have ordered one. For $ 9.00 an Italian should be genoa salami, a good provolone and a little capicole. We also ordered pierogies and they were good. I asked for a donut but never received it. I had to call and ask if I was charged for it since there was no receipt given to me upon delivery either. All in all, NOT a good experience for $ 25.00. (my order came to $ 20.03 and I gave delivery a $ 5.00 tip). I will probably order a sub from the many places around me for $ 6.00 next time. I’ve had much better from many other places.

Little difficult to first find, but relatively close to the interstate. Very helpful and kind inside. they don’t have chips or a large selection of drinks. More of a dinner deli/​grocery store. I had a traditional italian hero/​grinder/​sub/​hogie/​sandwich/​torpedo/​poorboy. Bread had a good taste, but no outer crunch. Meats were ok, but could have been higher quality, condiments were good. Overall a good sandwich, and I would return. Quantity was larger than average.

Great selection of sandwiches. All sandwiches were freshly made. Good size and very reasonable prices. Had a custom made veggie wrap, which was great. My wife had honey turkey sub which was enough for two meals. Our friends enjoyed their Italian sub and regular turkey sub. They also had some great veggie chips for sale. If you like Eastern European fare, they have a large selection.

The only reason I don’t give it five stars is because I have never been there. usually my co-​workers go there for lunch and pick up sandwiches and I have to say they are some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Their italian sub are amazing, and their pickles are very very good. After reading the other reviews I definitely will be going in person.

It’s a little harder to get here now and a little smaller than when they were on Water Street, but Tom’s is still one of my go-​to places for high-​quality Polish and German deli fare. The assortment of charcuterie and smoked fish is excellent, and fresh. Famous pickles, plenty of good bulk spices for eastern European cooking, and home-​made pierogies make it worth the trip.

Corned beef hot sandwich was great! I’m curious to try out other sandwiches because this was tasty, meat was fresh, sauce was flavorful. The bread options were good, rye, round, wraps. The chocolates varied from English to languages I didn’t know! Good place to find hard to find baked goods and international products.

Four and a half barks for one of the best delis I have ever been to. I especially recommend the hot kielbasa sub. It redefines kielbasa. The deli market also has a bunch of obscure meat and fish products from Poland and Russia that we stocked up on. If you want a real ethnic deli in a real ethnic neighborhood, it’s hard to beat this place. AND the service was very friendly.

Oh Wow, what a delicious sandwich! we were looking for a good cheap place to get lunch and stumbled upon this place. At first I was skeptical that they would make me a decent vegetarian sandwich, but boy was I wrong. I ordered the cheese sandwich and it was great, although bigger than I’m used to eating in one sitting (which isn’t always a bad thing, lunch x2 !!)
My Mom and Brother ordered meat sandwiches and seemed to be just as psyched about theirs as I was mine. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick place to grab lunch in Worcester.
We didn’t get anything from the store part of the deli, but it looked like they had a great selection of specialty foods, like my favorite pudding mix from Germany, as well as candy, and prepared pierogis.

Tom’s is a great ethnic market with fresh pickles, olives, meat, and all types of wonderful cream cheese! As for their lunch menu, they don’t have a lot of vegetarian options, but as I eat fish, I ordered the lox sandwich on a bagel. Tom’s doesn’t have bagels, so the employee ran across the street to buy one. The lox were good, very salty. The cream cheese was delicious (Miami which is a lox and horseradish flavored one) with fresh tomato, lettuce, and onion. Pretty good, but nothing like you’d get in New York. I recommend doing grocery shopping here, but certainly not top notch when it comes to lunch.

How have I not reviewed Tom’s?!? Geesh! My Mom goes here almost weekly to pick up treats and lunch fixin’s for my German Step-​Papa. We love the pickles and the pickled fish. Love to pair their homemade cream cheeses with Widoff’s fresh bagels. Heaven!!!

When I walk into Tom’s Deli, it’s like going into an old world store in Europe. You get the feeling that you are not in Worcester. You can find most anything in this place and if you can’t he’ll get it for you. Brands you have never heard of, ingredients that make you want to try it out. The deli is fantastic and the havla sitting on top is to die for! Oh no… now I have a craving…

I would not say Amanda is biased — this place is fantastic. Best sandwiches around, made with fresh bread from the bakery across the street I think. Their deli meat is so top notch — my husband swears by their roast beef. They’ve got such a great array of other deli items too, and lots of imported goods. Oh! And don’t forget the fresh made half-​sour pickles! My favorite!
Parking is never a problem, there’s a meter lot on the corner — and a nickel should be enough!

So maybe I’m a little bias because my uncle own’s this place, so I usually refer to it as Uncle Tom’s deli. I love coming here, everything about it is delicious. This is a real authentic deli. They re-​did the place, because they’ve added tables and coffee. They have a really cool spice section, and pickle section, and some amazing polish/​russian/​lebanese candy ever. I feel like family when I come in here (and not just because I am!) Everyone is super nice, it’s like you’re at your mom’s house. It’s family owned and operated, it wouldn’t be any other way.
