Vintage grille was ok. I’d give it another shot. Probably the only place i would go back to on Shrewsbury st. It was Sunday around 1pm. Not busy, service was good. One person got the Shepards pie and said it was good and not like she has seen before. It came out like a thick stew with a potato Pattie in the middle. One ordered the baby bumper and was quite surprised how big it was. The other ordered a plain burger and said it was pretty good. Not a frozen pattie, actually seemed hand formed, came out like he ordered. Now, my pizza is another story. It came out burnt. It tasted like a thin crust pizza but the crust looked like a traditional except for it being burnt. I really can’t stand thin crust pizzas but if this one wasn’t burnt it probably would have been tolerable. If the menu mentioned thin crust I probably would have tried the Mac n cheese. I would go back if someone in my party wanted to go there but i won’t be getting the pizza.

New chef is amazing. Prime rib was cooked to perfection. The shrimp Arabiatta could rival any other restaurant on Shrewsbury St. High recommended!!!

Went to the VG last night(Saturday) for the first time with a family of five based on reviews on Unilocal and great Phantom Gourmet reviews so our expectations were high. Very cool restaurant design true to all the review descriptions. Quick review: Atmosphere: Very Good Service: Poor Quality of food: Very Good Taste of food: Apps fair; Entrees Very Good Price; Good Good, Bad, Ugly: The Good: Outside seating and décor Burgers(Bumper to Bumper) amazing taste and portion, it really is as big as it looks! Chicken Caprese sandwich was amazing. The manager was very accommodating adjusting our bill based on the poor service(read below). The Bad: The service was horrible, our waitress was new and clearly not trained well as it seemed that we always had to hunt her down. We started out with a round of drinks and and had to ask another waiter to find our server so we could give her our app order. We ordered the Hubcap fried pickles that were ok but lacked much flavor other than the taste of the pickle. The second app was the fried Mac n Cheese bites(great Phantom Gourmet review) they were ok but had to season them as the taste was rather bland. Often asked questions by our group: Where’s our waitress? Why’s everyone around us getting their food and they arrived after us? It’s been an hour already how much longer will it be? The Ugly: The Chicken Alfredo Pizza was hot and tasty once it finally arrived, the rest of us had to wait another 10 minutes before our Burgers and Sandwiches came out, totally unacceptable. The manager was very apologetic and explained the the server was very new and adjusted out bill accordingly. Bottom line: Over all happy with the meal but Very dissatisfied with our first visit based on the service but feel we will give them another try.

Stopped in based upon previous Unilocal reviews for a casual lunch. I had the Tire Iron Caesar Salad, which comes with grilled steak. The steak was excellent; tasty and grilled to my spec(medium). The romaine was a little tired looking, not bad but not really fresh either. They may have just been having a bad romaine day, but I was disappointed. The atmosphere is cozy with kitchy NASCAR theme. Open air bar with tables and outdoor patio seating. Seemed clean and had a little crowd for a Saturday lunch.

Tried this place out this past Sunday for lunch. It was empty inside and cold. I got the grilled cheese w bologna, it was good. I thought it had too much Bologna through. My husband had a bacon bread pudding and chowder app to start. The bread pudding wasn’t good and the chowder was ok, not that creamy. For his meal he got the mac and cheese pizza, half with pulled pork and the other half buffalo chicken. He said it wasn’t worth eating more than one piece. All in all it was an ok experience. We will have to try it again in the summer though. Seems like a better place to take the bikes too and sit outside in the summer. Stay tuned for a summer update.

Great food, good beer, love the atmosphere. Outdoor seating is wonderful and a rare place with parking on Shrewsbury st.
