Great beer, superb kale salad and probably the best bread on the planet! The ambiance is great! Long counter table and chairs! Immaculately clean! The sandwiches are huge and the fries are absolutely perfect. I would come back to Maine just to eat here.

I went here with my boyfriend and his family. We did. It make reservations for lunch so the wait time was about 30 min. The restaurant is fairly new and has a bakery shop too. While waiting to be seated we went to the shop where they have free tastings of different types of balsamic and olive oil dips for various breads. My favorites would probably be the truffle dip and the extra virgin olive oil dip with seasoning. I think that the menus are updated daily because it had the date on it. The setup of the restaurant was cute with jars for drinking and clipboards with the menus. You could also see the cooks making the food with seeing the concrete furnaces were the pizza is made. We got a spicy Italian pizza which is easily split between two people.

Worth the trip… What a meal! The food is eclectic and top notch. Delicious crusts and toppings. They have an amazing variety of beverages, with and without alcohol. The bar area is wide open and the bar is well-stocked. Service is professional and efficient. I’m coming here again!

Best danged bread anywhere! I am limited to the sugar-free items, but even those are spectacular. My favorites are the olive and hot pepper as well as the cinnamon and raisin. The chocolate also looks yummy. Can find these in local supermarkets, but worth the trip to get it fresher and«just baked».

Delicious — just like the breads I’d make if I had no conscience for the healthiness of my breads :)

I have not gotten to their home shop yet, but I’ve delighted in their breads for years. High quality and always yummy! They can be found on little stands in nearly every grocery.

You can get When Pigs Fly at Whole Foods and Shaw’s(or click on their website to find out where you can get them on the East Coast). Love their 6 grain & pumpkin seed bread. It’s one of the few things that I miss about the East Coast. Hope that I can find an equivalent in Seattle. update– 11÷29÷07 According to their website, they are opening a site in Somervillle, MA. Cool! My West Coast equivalent is Dave’s Killer Bread. More spendy, but it will do.

I don’t know if it is «the best damn sourdough bread ever»? I went to try it because I just happened to be in York Harbor. I don’t know what kind of sourdough bread they have elsewhere in York Harbor, but I have definitely had better. In fact I would have to say it really does not taste like sourdough bread… just white bread, the sourdough flavor is very mild. Now! San Francisco(just about anywhere) is where you want to have sourdough bread, but there are also a lot of other places that have good sourdough. I didn’t try their chocolate bread, because they were out, but their raison bread was a typical raison bread, nothing more. I would say, if you want some bread and you are in the area, When Pigs Fly is a good place to get local bread that’s about what you can expect from most grocery stores(in fact they told me they supply grocery chains).

Best damn sourdough bread ever, outside of the home baked version. Their facility has a tiny store where they sell their breads. One of my favs that you never see in stores is their chocolate bread. Well worth the road trip!
