The ‘Three Pigeons’ is situated in the centre of Banbury, Oxfordshire. This pub is a good traditional English pub located in the town centre, though origianally probably not, having been swallowed up by the expansion of Banbury over the years. This can be seen from first glance, as the pub in considerably lower than the road outside! We have visited the Pigeons many times in the past, and have been impressed with the good standard service the pub provides. The Beer is standard town lagers, and food traditional good value Pub grub. The Downside to the pub is definetly its location. Probably years ago it was located in a village setting, but now cornered in by a massive Road Junction, with two main arteries into Banbury connecting just outside. It is therefore quite noisy. However it is charming. The Pub has a lovely thatched roof with three pigeon sculptures on the top, so you cant miss it! Also, during our last visit, there was a big bungie machine in the garden, one of those operated by a crane, needless to say, didn’t try it, but looked good! A sign of a trasitional village to town pub perhaps. Nevertheless recommended for a booze up on a saturday night, not really a quite sunday lunch
